2.4 i-vtec is the one I plan on buying, reviews online say its petrol consumption is bad but I don't have a very long commute so maybe it can be managed

Like the generation before it, familiarize yourself with the PCV valve. When it clogs, you start burning oil. It's a cheap enough part to not bother cleaning (unless you really want to) and it's typically easy to replace.

Amazing first car, try and get a manual. You can make any excuse you want but Honda automatics are known to be really the biggest issues with all of their models, otherwise it pretty straightforward routine maintenance as with any other regular car

U.K. plates in photo. If you’re British and a young driver, forget it. Insurance will empty your bank and leave you in debt. Good cars apart from that, although the diesels have known manifold cracking issues and clutch problems. They’re comfy and well spec’d. Can’t comment on the bodywork but the engines are very well made.

I daily the Acura version for 3 years now. It's alright. I had to replace the timing chain and head gasket for around $3000 CAD last year. Mine is stick so no automatic issues to worry about.

Where's the Toyota general then? Thought so, nigger
>>
>>27629766
Are you talking about the CU2?
The most common is the VTC losing its position after sitting parked for a while. This results in clattering during a cold start. It isnt considered damaging but can get annoying. Mine does this once in a while, and hasnt gotten worse over the 15k km that ive owned it.
Some people report burning oil, but thats pretty common with higher mileage cars in general, especially if they run 0w20. I dont drive much so i havent noticed an issue when checking it at oil changes.

Which year and what was your mileage?

They're gay and contrarian for the sake of it. It's a good car, but a bit old by now, check the previous owner(s) have done their due diligence with maintenance.

> I had to replace the timing chain and head gasket for around $3000 CAD last year.
What the fuck? $3000 in actual engine maintenance for a tiny underpowered lawnmower engine?

Honda niggers shit on German cars for needing a valve cover gasket every 100k miles meanwhile their lawnmower engines blow up head gaskets and need timing chain changes.
>>
>>27635673
honda faggots will tell you its a S-tier marque and comparable to toyota while topping up their oil and/or looking for a junkyard motor to replace the one that just blew. Absolute joke of human beings
