Are cane corsos less or more bad than pitbulls?
less bad because higher proportion of owners who know what they're dealing with
They are actually safer because they are more intelligent - almost as smart as german shepherds and huskies. Same reason akita maulings tend to involve someone really, really fucking up or a badly abused dog rather than a well cared for family pet that no one ever did anything wrong to. Smart dogs.Pitbulls issues stem from a total lack of self awareness.

The "natural" landrace should be something akin to a common ancestor to the Neo Mastiff and the overly-typy show breed of the Cane Corso, which is sort of artificially divergent to the Neopolitan (which is overly fiverged in the opposite direction)

People chose the dog based on utility and function and didn't care about holding some arbitrary aesthetic standard. If you look at pics of neos from the 60es they look exactly like modern corsos

It purpose is to make the dog off-putting, unsettling, and ugly. All Neos are working Neos, there are no pet Neos and even the best in show Neos are working dogs. Just because they prance around a ring for 15 minutes doesn't mean shit.
