Anno series is dog shit>play 1503>tutorial sucks doesn’t explain anything well enough >quit>play 2070>half the features are locked to online mode not even worth playing >look at 1800>comes with Ubisoft launcher and uplay>nopeAll I could tell in my time was the controls are shit, mechanics are shit, and the overall game is shit. In short fuck Ubisoft. Shit game. 0/10.
>>1716381You could just type that you got filtered and save us all some time anon.
>>1716382>got filtered>by Jewish DRM system and always online bull shitSure retard
>>1716386Yeah we get it, you're a very cool redditor who can't handle using a launcher(yet probably uses paraslop's launcher without complaint). If you didn't play the game you don't get to have an opinion. You couldn't even understand 1503 so it's probably for the best. Go back to map painters kid.
>>1716390Kill all zoomers you retards are everything wrong with this world
>>1716396I'm older than you son.
>>1716381Picked 1503 which I never played. 2700 is probably hogshit. I played 1601. It was cool, but the tech tree got stupid really quick.
>>1716476Talking out of my ass here, but I heard that 2070 isn't even playable anymore because of some clusterfuck with its DRM, so I guess pirating it is the only way to go at this point
>>1716480ubisoft was going to discontinue support of 2070 but bluebyte made a patch so it still works.
>>1716381must suck being so autistic that you have a fit over a launcher
>>1716396you sound like a raging 15 year old loser
I recently played 2070 and had fun for a few days. There was some weird online integration bullshit, but I never figured out what was going on and ignored it completely. (The only idiotic thing was it prompting me to create a profile, when I logged in, and this kept failing with a very unclear error message. Eventually it turned out I had to use the EXACT username I had in uplay launcher, then it worked.)I think 1404 is an even better game, I started it but was a bit burnt out from 2070 so didn’t get far.
>>1716381>half the features are locked to online mode not even worth playingthey're not, you just have a pirated copythe only thing from the online that i ever used was the storage which is kept on their server for some reasonyou have a pirated copy so you can't access your ark storage i take it?
I can never tell how much this series is an econ game vs just another city builder
>>1716381If Anno 1800 was historically accurate, it would be the best game of all time. That's why I'm trying hard to mod the hell out of it to make it more accurate. But if you go on the Anno 1800 modders Discord and tell them you want the game to be more historically accurate, they'll tell you you're being "hateful" and "noninclusive." Like, don't you think it's more disrespectful to pretend like slavery never happened? People's mindset is so ass backwards these days.
>>1716828Oh also the game needs diagonal roads.
>>1716381>he didn't pirate the game>he gave money to jewbisoftyou deserve this OP
>>1716828They probably noticed that your quest for "historical accuracy" is a veil for an obsession with race because you focused on that topic and didn't care for hundreds of other anachronisms.
>>1716999I know you're trolling, but that's not true. I want the game to overall be historically accurate. It just so happens that in the early modern era whites were the dominant force in the world and it just so happens that it's my favorite time period in history.
>>1716381Why didn't you start at the beginning? Or at 1404, the best game in the series
>>1716999I, and no serious person can even start to care about any other mistake when you start by deleting a people from its legacy, I'm quite sure if they made a movie with a oxum stared by a white dude all hell would break lose and that would be the focal point of discussion
>>1717006It has that stupid bug where the stick man ravages the city. Anno fans are so stupid that they don't care that it's historically accurate.
>>1717012Historically INaccurate. My mistake.
>>1716687>There was some weird online integration bullshit, but I never figured out what was going on and ignored it completely. They tried doing online integration with daily missions, events, and persistent progression, like it's an MMO or something. It was just kind of weird and inoffensive.
>>1717009Exactly.
>>1716381Play 1404
I like the Anno series and played most of them, but especially 1800 just gets very overwhelming down the line. My adhd brain can't keep track of all the different worlds and quests and shit. And it really needs to move away from the grid and autistic layouts for max efficiency.
>>1717440there are only two worlds anon.>b-b-but you don't understand, I simply HAVE to play with all dlc enabled!then you're asking for it, retard.
>>1717502Well I bought the game sometime last year during a sale and all dlc was included, what the fuck am I supposed to do? And even with 2 worlds it's tedious busy work and because of autistic gridmaxing layouts, the game isn't even a good builder imo.
I enjoyed 2070 because unilke all other city builders (1404 included), upgrading to higher civilization level was barely profitable, so you have to think hard about your next step. At least until I learned how toll wares work and started farming bionic suits. Is 1800 like that or more like 1404 where a handful of spice plsntations provides for entire map of citizens? Also, aura service buildings make optimal city layout so boring and unrealistic, does 1800 have lrovide services limited by road length?
>>1716828i mean, the game is rated pegi 12adding slavery and whatnot would tank that number, but they are sneaky about it with items that are basically slavery
>>1717004anno was never historically accurate, it's a completely different timeline with different countries in it it is entirely possible that their world never had slavery
>>1716381The only good anno is 1404 and I'm tired of pretending the others are anywhere near as good
>>17177171602 was good too as are 1800, 2070 and 2205
>>1717719They are on the same level, that is, bellow 1404
>>1717717>>1717731>why yes i am american, how could you tellnoone cares, anno 1404 is fun but to rate it as the best is retarded
>>1717735how COULD you tell?
>>1717735ESL seething at americhads moment
>>1717668I'm not sure but I think it was more like 2070. Been a while since I last played either, it certainly is possible to fuck up and start hemorrhaging money. Arguably it isn't that cut and dry because afaim upgrading can allow you to avoid royal tax to some extent. It doesn't count for the first 1k of a class allowing you to avoid it by upgrading.>1800 have lrovide services limited by road lengthService buildings work by road distance.
>>1716381Anno 1701 is the best Anno game and the comfiest
whats so great about 1404? is it just because it was the first new anno?
>>1717980yeah, same as civ 5 retards. It was their first so they think it's the best.
>>1717980It's probably more popular than the older games because of the new civilization they added and the way they changed how farms work. Between 1404 and 2070 it's mostly a matter of aesthetics, and many people prefer a medieval setting to a sci-fi one. 2205 was casualized so everybody hates that one. 1800 most people actually agree is better than 1404 these days.
1800 is the best objectively on all counts sans land combat and blockade efficiency in PVEBut the sprite work in 1503 and 1604 is peak aesthetics to me plus I have childhood memories of 1604
>>1717736Americans only had 1404 for a while and never played 1701, infact 1404 was called 1701 in the states I think
>>1716831Not having diagonal roads is worse than slavery
I liked 1402. Combat is dumb tho just go to pirate and buy capture thingy then grab enemy ships then siege his harbor to cut of all supplies and gg.
>>1717646You can (de)select dlcs when starting a new game.>>1717980The side-civ makes for interesting sequencing. Apart from that it’s classic Anno. So, it’s the great 1602 formula with a small added twist. Perfect.>>17176681800 is very different from most other games in the series. Civ upgrade is not automatic, you do it manually for buildings. The reason is that any given production building needs workers from a specific civilization level. E.g. farms need "Workers" (civ level 2) etc. If you upgrade too many houses, you have no peasants left to do woodcutting. What was most disappointing to me about 1800 is that your starting island has all resources available, and also the "Tools game" no longer exists. I.e. it’s no longer a question of reaching Tool production before running out of Tools - rather, all production levels build cleanly on top of each other. So it’s super straight-forward builder, you can’t soft-lock yourself accidentally, you just build whatever new buildings you get on your island and that’s it. You can take other islands and I guess there would be a good reason to do it, but I didn’t find one before I quit. Idk, I never played Farmville, but 1800 is what I imagined Farmville to be like.
>>1716381just play anno 1404. its the best.
>>1716828Well done, anon. I made a mod that replaces all """scholars""" (new euphemism just dropped) with technicians haha
>>1717704>it is entirely possible that their world never had slaveryThat is not possible. Two characters are former slaves in 1800.
>>1719301Awesome! Where can I download it? You should also make slave specialists that increase productivity by 100 percent, but also increase the chance of rioting.
>>1719305>You should also make slave specialists that increase productivity by 100 percent, but also increase the chance of rioting. The game is having those already. They are called jurnaleros and obrerons
>>1719306You should physically pick them up from Ebesa and sail them to the New World.
>>1719309if Enbesa is the horn of africa and the NW is peru this is just not good business better to put the locals on the cotton
>>1719311See, you would think that the New World would be Peru because of the alpacas, but that's another thing in the game that doesn't make sense. Back when the ModTool was a thing, I made a mod where the jornaleros and obreros clothing was made out of cotton so the alpacas would become obsolete.
>>1719314Peru made a lot of money from Alpaca shits.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guano_Era
>>1719301Link please
>>1719302oh yeah i forgot about that, i never have that guy in my games cuz he gets mad at everythinganyways i dunno then, it's probably the rating then
>>1716381Why is my map flickering? Is it because I have too many Crown Falls on one map?
>>1720062Yes. Afaik a common thing with such map additions.
>>1720062You can have one map with 4 crown falls on it and nothing much will happen but if you have two maps with a single crown falls on it then you will get flickers. You can circumvent this by having a crown falls top left and another instance with crown falls bottom left, etc. You get the picture. Just be careful of mayabeque which is a NW crown falls and will cause insane flickers.
>>1719301that doesn't make sense since the entire reason for the university is to have students from enbesa study in it
>>1719301>>1720706also, the portraits you see are not representation of the entire popit's just there to give it a face, in this case it's the black scientist from enbesa who designs the university cuz he got rejected from fantasy harvard (for his "chroma" as he puts it)
>>1719543
>>1718268Americans got all of the Anno games not long after they released in Europe. 1404 was renamed to "Dawn of Discovery" for a bit but later got its original name back for digital releases
>>1720884Wow, what an irrelevant reaction from an irrelevant politician, thanks for keeping me in the loop, champ!
>>1716381yeah anno isn't very good
>>1721695>He doesn't know about the 2024 election results!OH NONONO
>>1723411>STOP THE COUNT!
In 1800 is there is any possible way to make resources universal between regions and isles without the hassle of managing trade routes, like a mod or setting? This is a first time I've played any Anno game and thought of it as a thematic city builder, but jesus, I think it's one of the hardest single player games I've ever played. You get so much stuff thrown on you and can't even pause time to manage it all like in some grand strategy game. I thought a big company like Ubisoft would cater wider demographic not just logistics coordination professionals. I wonder what percentage of players even managed to get to the midgame.
>>1718392>you can’t soft-lock yourself accidentallythis was never possible. you were always able to import tools, and doing so is arguably "optimal."
>>1723525>is any possible way to make resources universal between regions and isles without the hassle of managing trade routesthat's the whole point of the series retard
>>1723525It's more of a economy and logistics sim, if that makes sense.
>>1723533>the "Tools game" no longer exists. I.e. it’s no longer a question of reaching Tool production before running out of ToolsDid you really play without buying tools from traders? That really slows you down in all the old Anno games.
>>1718392>1800 is very different from most other games in the series. Civ upgrade is not automatic, you do it manually for buildings. The reason is that any given production building needs workers from a specific civilization level. The game was optimized and now it's no longer a shitty build order city builder where oops you built the wrong thing, better start over. At least have the decency to complain about the lack of land armies, moron.
>>1730867what in the final fantasy is this
>>1717704In Anno 1602 you could genocide native savages and their voodoo priest cursed you. Arguably you were even encouraged to genocide the spear chuggers as oftentimes you wanted their land.
>>1716381>>play 1503>>tutorial sucks doesn’t explain anything well enough i've kinda fallen out of love with the series, but jesus fucking christ, you have to be retarded
>>1730867Honestly surprising that they didn't lean that far into steampunk with 1800. Not that I'm complaining, but it seemed like they were going to go that route since the prior two games were sci-fi, and they introduced cargo-zepelins with the DLC which definitely is straddling that line.
>>1716381i've only played 1602 and i remember it being very comfyalso, best greensleeves renditionhttps://invidious.fdn.fr/watch?v=iCP8Yl4VWV8
No active pause, no play.>but they have 0.00001 speed modWhich slows down the entire game engine like click responses
>>1723525The two most dangerous (money-wise) things you can do are1. Have imbalanced populations, thanks to the Royal Tax system. That system encourages you to go wide, on many different islands.2. Over-produce things that you can't (or won't) use or sell off profitably. As long as you avoid these two pitfalls, you should be able to take it easy since you'll have more money (and time) than you can ever spend. This is especially true if you make it to Investors; with enough of those money becomes irrelevant.Yes it all can be overwhelming, but if you're making a huge profit you can take your time and build things up as you see fit.
>>1738483okay boomer
>>1734816Steampunk Anno is a great idea for a different game. Like I'd love a full gothic steampunk Anno.
>>1723533In 1602 and 1503 while you couldn't soft lock you could slow your game to a stand still while the traders refreshed their inventory.
1404 drm free from GOG with the unofficial patch is the golden standard
Anno 2070 was okay. Anno 1800 is one of the best games ever made.>muh launcherlol okay kid
