Not really, the only real similarity is the ability to turn back the clock at any time and keeping all your actually important shit (using the ocarina in MM vs hitting a soft NG+ in X-2). Yes, both games are about a main story with a shitton of side missions which is the true bulk of the game's content, but they have some pretty key differences in how it's implemented>MM is effectively an open world and yes, you are meant to do things in a certain order, but primarily what's impeding you in your ability to do certain side content is that you don't have the required item yet (bow, epona's song, hookshot, etc). If you have those items, you can do things in any order you want.>X-2 is ultimately a linear game, you can't do ch 3 content in ch 1 no matter what stuff you've carried over in NG+, you HAVE to do ch 1 and 2 first

X had an incredibly freeform end game, so X-2 taking the same world and just making most of its content extremely strict was just frustrating and nowhere near as satisfying.The biggest thing it has over X is having the better title theme by far
