the story is about the formation of the shogunate which unified japan and stopped fueding clan wars. This is what prevented europeans from dividing and taking over japan like every other country in the region and consequently led to ww2 japan.
Is this the best japs can come up with? It took 10 episodes of people talking about retarded votes and customs to reach such a boring non-ending. Tom Cruise did a way better storytelling job with one simple movie.
