I am considering moving to the UK, but whenever I hear anything about the UK from UK citizens in Canada is that Canada is so much better, Canada is great, the UK is horrible etc. Most British say they are much happier in Canada, the standard of living is much better, higher quality of life, the people are nicer etc. Online, the UK seems to be a standard for everything a bad country is. Instead of "at least we're not Mississippi" the expression is "at least we're not the UK". Is the UK really that bad of a country?
>>
>>2647876
why would anyone move to that ecologically devastated shithole. Canada has literally the best mountains in the world and even in the East the wilderness is top tier

Canada is the highlight of Western civilization. The dream of any white man.

The nice parts of this country tend to be unaffordable. From the perspective of Quebec at least, Vancouver is nice but really expensive, and there's a big drug problem. You'll need a car if you don't live near the skytrain.

I'm still personally looking to move. I don't really like the culture and way of life in Quebec sometimes, even if I'm generally proud of it, I like my language and am pro-independence because Canada is a joke of a country that's gone by 2100.

I'd like to move, although not permanently. I can't drive so I'm looking for a decent place to live without it. For the UK since it's this thread, I'd go for London, Bristol, maybe Manchester. I need a place with high skilled jobs. I'm not moving now, but at the end of next year, I'll get my degree. I'm looking for prices on Rightmove already, but I could go to the USA (I got family there) or the UK.
>>
The lifestyle in Canada is far better than anywhere in the UK. Canada > UK any day.
>>
Immigrating to the U.K. is only worth it if you’re going to be immediately on excellent money. Medicine, tech, finance are basically it. Otherwise you’re going to be watching every penny while living in a rented draughty Victorian terrace like all the norf fc fans

If you’ve not even graduated yet then you’re going to feel poor for a couple of years even if you land on your feet
>>
>>2647916
>I can't drive
dude learn to fucking drive before you think about moving to a whole new country
jeez anon come on, get your priorities sorted
>>
>>2648025
I'm only considering it because of the dual citizenship because I was born there, left when I was 6. Honestly there is 0 appeal about the UK. It's everything wrong with Canada with none of the perks. Low wages, shitty weather, shitty people, shitty culture. Just looking up opinions of Canadians that moved to the UK are overwhelmingly that the UK is a shithole, and the opinions of British that moved to Canada is that it is some sort of utopia. If I could generate a visa to some Asian country I would.
>>
>>2648040
I'm from continental Europe and there's something about the UK that's totally repulsive. The whole West has its problems and you certainly know better than me how many things about Cucknada suck, but in the UK everything just reeks of hopelessness and decay.

In Canada, USA, Australia you have space and no matter how tired you are of everyday horseshit you can just move like 1562 kilometers from the city and live somewhere where you can chill out and breathe. The UK is claustrophobic, it's just London and a scrap of land around it. There's nowhere to go, because the island is small, has a silly shape and anywhere you go you can still smell London.

Think again before moving. The whole Anglosphere is your oyster, choosing shitty UK over anything else is pretty stupid.
>>
>>2647876
Only rich people, expats or pakis go there. While I myself think it's a nice country to visit and the locals are nice (and yes the food is good to, just unhealthy), I wouldn't want to live as an average wageslave there.
>>
>>2648073
Europe in general has a low quality of life and low wages. Australia is an alternate Canada so hell no and the USA another alternate Canada but with guns and higher wages. The anglosphere sucks. East Asia seems to be the ideal.
>>
>>2648073
>it's just London and a scrap of land around it
The only good parts of the UK are the parts outside of London
>>
>>2648040

Then why the fuck are you even considering it? I was actually going to effort post for you as well.

>mountains
who gives a fuck about mountains when they are in canada. and you have to be in canada/be around canadians to be near them
>>
>>2647876
The are few things that UK beats Canada on. For me if I could afford it I'd choose rural Canada purely for the /out/ wilderness. That being said, UK isn't quite as insane as Canada is with overpriced everything, amerishart IDpol, and general globalist decay. The UK still has genuine culture and history, you just have to get out of London. Canada is a cultural vacuum. The main theme of Canada's identity is 'we're not as bad as Americans'.

If you're going to live in a city of big town, live in the UK. If you like /out/, live in Canada.
>>
>>2647876
No the UK has too many niggers. But the truth is, there's a lot of pajeets too. In Canada it's mostly white people.
>>
>>2650574
Lmfao. I see 0 whites where ever I go here. There are no whites in Canada. If you see a white person, they are usually unironically a crossdressing faggot. The Indians and Chinese are better people to be around because they won't try to get you "cancelled" for wrongthink or try to see if you have fentanyl like the whites do.

White Canadians can be summarized by Jessica Yaniv, a perverted man that sued immigrant ran esthetician businesses because they didn't want to fondle his hairy lady balls.

>In Canada it's mostly white people.
hilariously wrong
I live in a small town that used to be almost all white when I was growing up
the other day I walked the beachside and saw, not joking, not exaggerating, at least 95% indian people. EVERYONE WAS INDIAN
I saw another white guy and we just looked at eachother like "we're doomed"
it's over

Brit here living in Northwest UK (Liverpool). The UK is a shithole. Not much more to say about it. The government doesn't care about it's citizens and the country has been left to rot. If you aren't rich you will be living an average wage slave life in a house filled with mould due to the constant rain and high humidity. Most Brits are friendly but self deprecating about the country, as they know life is fairly hopeless here. If you're rich and can afford a £500,000 house, you'll be in a nice area (outside of London), but probably have to spend at least an hour there and back commuting. The UK has the same suburb problem the USA has. Also our roads are basically falling apart. Potholes everywhere and councils have all gone bankrupt so they aren't getting fixed.

All in all the UK outside of London is in a state of decay. No money to fix roads. No money to spend on public transport. No money to spend on citizens.

I'm in Japan right now and the difference between how the UK and Japan are ran is huge. The UK these days feels not far from a third world country
>>
>>2647876

I would move to the UK, particularly Scotland because it's comfy and my ancestral ties. I like rainy cool weather, not Canada's frozen purgatory for 8 months a year. The UK has culture and history. Canada has the most boring history out of any country.

UK cities are walkable and thus more sense of community where Canada is actually worse than the US in walkability. As for personality, Brits are cheeky cunts whereas every Canadian I've met has been a passive-aggressive sociopath and severely deranged.

People complain about British cuisine, but they use fresh quality ingredients and don't overload with spice. Also, they have plenty of other food and people act like they eat like the Germans are still flying above them. Tikka masala is from the UK which I love.

The UK has a charm to it whereas Canada is completely soulless. Basically a watered-down version of America. People want to talk about nature; the UK has comfy nature all around, while its nothing super stunning, Canada all looks the same and the beautiful part is concentrated in one area. Let's be honest here, how many times are you actually going to the mountains?

The UK is near Europe so eemagine moi shawck when flights are <$100 for anywhere in Europe. Imagine trying to leave Canada to go travel. Couldn't be me. It's like Australia; just far away from anything and mostly inhospitable no man's land.
>>
>>2650615
I'm not overexagerating when I say you live in the worst corner of the entire UK. No debate.
>>
>>2650615

What do you hate about quebec that make you want to move?

I'm from the UK and I've lived in numerous countries. Honestly, the UK is a fucking shithole in comparison.
>0 trust society

>Ugly towns

>>
>>2650615
Why is it always British people in Japan
>>
>>2650572
Probably will go to the UK because just because of the dual citizenship. Canada sucks and I can't think of anywhere to move out of BC, not learning 17th century French to move to some small town in Quebec or Winnipeg. Canada being an /out/ destination means you live in BC, which contains a horrible drug-addled society and low wages, even affording a car here is ridiculous with the ridiculous cost of insurance and gas.

Asian countries are much better but I can't just rip a visa out of my ass on command.
>>
The UK is an absolute festering shithole, but if you're determined to come here, stay the fuck away from London and Birmingham. Manchester and Newcastle are pretty friendly and soulful, there's lots of good food, music and things to do, plus both have a very walkable city centre. Newcastle is a quick train to Scotland and Manchester is a quick train to Wales if you want to get /out/.
>>
>>2647916
If you stay in Canada try Victoria or Halifax or just get a working holiday visa to NZ or Australia or I guess UK too.
>>
>>2647876
This country is a fucking dump, Scotland and London are as communist as Canada and the rest of the country is not far behind. Even the hordes of third worlders here are waking up to how doomed this nation is.
>>
>>2647876
The UK is unironically a failing state.

Life for most of the population is dire. Cities are crumbling. Culture is dead. More and more immigrants are being sandwiched in. All while the weather is shit, pakis continue to make life worse for everyone around them, people get poorer and everyone is a miserable cunt with a chip on their shoulder.

I was pissed off about my life in the UK and left. Never been happier. Now I don’t even like going back for the weekend.
>>
>>2650615
>>2650955
>>2651266
Whilst I agree with all these points, unless your career prospects are dogshit in the UK and you're on £40k or less, moving to do TEFL which has no career trajectory and basically delaying the inevitable until you have to go back and face reality isn't really the play.

I'm just warning as my close friend did that from 23-35 years old, just getting pissed and living in HK / Japan / Korea. Covid happened and he lost his job / gf and moved back to the same parents council house with barely £5k in savings basically starting from square one again.

UK is a shithole though, thankfully my city hasn't been infested yet with the third world.
>>
>>2650615
let's not pretend that Japan hasn't left the areas outside the big cities to rot as well
>>
>>2651374
It hasn't though. Lots of smaller cities like Himeji, Kobe, Fukuoka, Wakayama etc (I could go on forever) are well looked after. Every city about from London in the UK is a literal shithole
>>
Not just the U.K. but is there any country that I can get a citizenship when I buy a house so I won't be bothered?

I'm from Scotland, living in England, and the UK kinda sucks compared to lots of Euro countries but I like it. Glasgow, Manchester, Edinbugh are cool although kind of expensive, rural towns are nice and cheap but there are no jobs, London has its good and bad points, and places like Brum and Sheffield I really don't like. But the UK is cool, people on here talking as if its a second or third world country have never been to Poland or Nicaragua.
>>
>>2651440
Although i do know a canadian living here and shes breaking her back to leave back to canada desu. but we work in biomed and canada is a bit tougher than the uk for jobs there, depends what you want to do for a living op, it will affect a lot of life here.

>>
>>2651287
You don’t have to do some shitty TEFL gig to work abroad. There are good career prospects nearly everywhere, especially as a native English speaker with good corporate experience/qualifications.

>>2651440
>people who compare the UK to a second or third world country have never been to Poland or Nicaragua.

You’re missing the point here lmao.

>>2651454
How many Brits have you met that move to an Indian part of Canada and call it “heaven on earth”?. One? What a stupid fucking post.

Nonetheless though, most immigrants in Britain are actual fucking leeches. Parasites who suck the lifeblood out of everything and everyone around them.

I imagine if you go to somewhere like Canada where most Pajeets and chinks are there to do actual work and contribute it’s a bit of a different story.
>>
>>2651495
They all move to Vancouver or Toronto, where whites are a small minority of the population. No European is moving to some shithole 99% white town in Canada like Medicine Hat, Lethbridge or Black Diamond. Frenchies do the same thing where they all move to Montreal, which is filled with Latin Americans, Arabs and Blacks, and then act as if it's a utopia, while complaining about migrants back home lmfao. Why don't they ever go to the 100% white small towns?
>>
>>2651443
99% of those posts aren't from brits, it's usually either pajeets, mutts butthurt from other threads, or seething euros (nearly always french).

The truth is Brits love to moan but when they actually travel they realise that compared to most, life in the UK is easy mode
>>
>>2651498
>Why don't they ever go to the 100% white small towns?

I’m not sure what you’re getting at here. Typically because they move to Canada for professional work and require a visa, all of those jobs exist in the cities rather than in the middle of bumfuck nowhere.

Regardless though, my point still stands. Not all immigrants are the same, there’s a huge selection bias at play, even if said immigrants come from the same place.

>>2651501
Ah, the classic British cope.

You as well as I know this isn’t true. I guarantee 99% of people who make these comments (such as myself) are white native Brits who are utterly ashamed of what Britain has become. If you can’t see how the country has been fractured, spiritually broken and left to rot, you’ve been wrapped up in cotton wool your whole life.

I’ll speak for myself here in saying that I would love to love Britain, I just can’t because of what it has become. It’s utterly disgusting today.

Relevant topic since it’s pretty recent.
I've been reflecting on the stark contrasts in how St. George's Day is celebrated across different regions. In northern Spain, where I've lived, the day is a vibrant celebration of communal pride and cultural identity. Families and friends gather, partake in festivities, and the entire atmosphere is festive and inclusive.

In Britain, the celebration of our patron saint is completely subdued, it's even perceived as plainly racist. Public displays of national pride, such as displaying the English flag, are seen as divisive. This is a far cry from my experiences in Spain and most other countries, where national identity and celebrations foster community spirit.

The UK is so cucked and driven in bending over to everyone else, its literally seen as shameful and wrong to celebrate their own national identity.

>UK is easy mode
Bread and fucking circuses, mate.
>>
>>2651440
>Never been to Poland
Life in Poland is far better than in the UK.
>>
>>2651516
Based on what you've said, I seriously doubt that you are genuinely british. The supposed uproar about st george and the flag just doesn't exist in real life. It seems a lot of your views are based on how people act on twitter.
In my county, much like most other counties/cities besides London or Birmingham, St Georges day is celebrated the same as it always has been, union jacks and st georges crosses are up and down most streets and its a nice time for people to socialise on the streets. You are most likely a terminally online shut-in, and I have serious doubts that you are actually british, let alone live in the UK
>>
>>2651530
Wow,imagine being so isolated you actually accuse me of not being British. Have you ever been to a pub or spoken to somebody outside of your boarding school?

I'm literally 10 generations English. Even before records began, mate.
>>
>>2651530
Listen man, I actually don’t know what you’re getting at. You know what you’re saying isn’t true. This constant deflection of “UR NOT AKTUALLY BRITISH!!” is actually fucking sad.

I’m from the Midlands, I lived around all of the UK (and several places in continental Europe where I currently reside).

I’m not saying there is a constant visceral reaction to St George’s day like you might see on Twitter of people screaming about it, but there’s a general malaise around the whole idea of celebrating English identity in 95% of the country. The average person ranges from indifferent to the idea, to maybe slightly uncomfortable.

English people aren’t proud of their identity, in fact, nobody gives a shit about the state of their communities anymore. Most major cities barely even have a sense of community outside of football anymore.

You said life is easy mode in the UK. Living on a council estate, collecting benefits and having all of your services provided to you by the taxpayer is easy mode, and to the people that live that life they’re probably quite happy with it. How easy your life is, is pretty irrelevant.

>>2651533
Weird samefag post.

It seems my little criticism of Britain hit too close to home, samefagging is a pretty shoddy way out if you ask me.

It’s sad because I would actually be willing to have a conversation about it, maybe be proven wrong in some respects.

I think honestly and truly you know I’m right, it hurts you to admit it (because it sucks how fucking terrible the UK is today), so you end up deflecting and into straight into defence mode instead.
