I will be driving from New Mexico to Connecticut and would like to see some sights along the way. Anything worth pulling over for? I'm okay with getting slightly off course by a few hours if worth it.
>>2644791Breezewood, PA
>>2644791I’ve been eyeing a similar route. My stops would be Amarillo, Oklahoma City, ozarks, Nashville
Where are you planning on sleeping?
>>2644799>Breezewood has been labeled a "tourist trap" and choke point because traffic between I-70 and the Turnpike, which carries I-70 westward from Breezewood, is routed along surface streets lined with gas stations, hotels, restaurants, and traffic lights, rather than directly via a freeway-to-freeway junction.Kino>>2644800Good spots. I've been to Nashville and really enjoyed myself. Would be my first time visiting the others.>>2644804Just hotels. Traveling in my car.
Try this route, New Mexico-Colorado Springs- Omaha-Chicago-Cedar Point Ohio (Cedar Point Amusement Park)- Pittsburgh Pa-ConnecticutThe route is a lot more scenic and there are better cities to stop at along the way. It would only add 2 hours total over the route you chose. Omaha has a good brewery scene now.
>>2644791Flyover states are not worth visiting.
I recommend taking the route through TN then north on I-81. Much more scenic overall. I'd stop by the Smokeys for a day hike. The nearby town of Gatlinburg, TN is quite popular for tourism. Not my thing, but you might enjoy it. You could later stop by the hiker town of Damascus, VA and rent a cheap bike/shuttle and cycle the Virginia Creeper trail (almost entirely a gentle downhill coast, not physically demanding at all). I know a lot about outdoor recreation in Southern Appalachia. Feel free to ask any questions.
>oklahoma>missouri>illinois>indiana>ohio>pennsylvania>CONNECTICUT no theres nothing worth pulling over. just sit in your car in your driveway at this point. go fuck yourself
>>2644870Omaha has a great zoo too. Also the college world series if you're into baseball. Iowa has the world's largest truck stop and Chicago has practically endless things to do. OP's route has Palo Duro Canyon and Wichita Mountains but he can do that on a different trip living in New Mexico.
