We don't know yet. Hasbro has made no announcements because marketing is for losers. It's a new type of ammo but we don't know if it's compatible with any previous ammo or if it's something new and proprietary. They look longer than half-darts but shorter than full length darts.

The logo and box art appears to imply the darts rotate for stability as they fly, like a bullet from a rifled barrel. This could be Nerf's response to recent advances in the 3D printing/modding community in which a guy developed a rifled nerf barrel with little bearings that make the darts spin. It will probably be shittier than the modder take as usual.
