Okay the pelican is huge. Is there an actual way to hook a warthog up as cargo or do I have to rig something up?

Hell yeah

And I think the pelican is pretty sweet if not a little too huge for my intended purpose of being a set piece or terrain for wargaming. The hold is more of a station for the chief instead of seating for marines so I'm guessing it's sort of like your hub or home in Infinite? The landing gear is pretty neat but the back legs really struggle holding up the weight of the thing. Got a bunch of extra covie figures from the kid I bought it off too, so pretty happy with the purchase. How many figures can comfortably sit in the falcon?

oh so something like the crashed pelican on valhalla? cool that you're liking the set! did you take any pics of it hauling a warthog?

can't build the set today, just wanted to open up the figures, but the falcon is designed to fit 1 pilot, 3 in the seats, and 2 gunners, meaning all 6 noble team members can fit

Just the one. And crashed might be a hard look to pull off on a gaming table without taking it apart too much but I'll be giving it a shot. A dropship like that probably won't have much reason to be phsyically represented on a table but it was kind of an indulgence. Looking at phantoms now even though I really shouldn't

Finished this today. Was such a fun build and it is monstrous in size. Way more fun than some recent lego sets I've built. Already snapped up the elephant, kinda had to pay too much to get it to new zealand and didn't want to wait incase it retired. At least I got a fair deal on the Pelican. I used to collect mega bloks halo when I was 15, about 7 years ago. I'll go find my old sets tomorrow and post some pics. I had some cool sets back then and some rare figures.

Not hoarding them to flip or anything, just haven't felt like building one yet I guess. Got two of the Arbiter Banshee also unopened, two in that case cuz I wanted to have one of each at the same time.

Need to get back into making Halo setups, been neglecting them in favor of CoD and army men. Once the ground dries out from the spring melt we'll see.

Gave everything a good dust, and packed the figures and loose parts into ziploc bags. I wanted to rebuild some, but there's definitely some pieces floating loose around the house that I'll have to find first. Might take a while since they could be anywhere in storage. Hard to say, without the kind of community Lego has and aftermarket prices varying from rock bottom cheap to pieces of the true cross expensive, your mileage may vary. Certainly it's a challenge for anyone late to the game hoping to collect all of a certain armor type; Hayabusa was only made in a few colors and only in the original fig style. At least some of the colors have been available to buy on aliexpress, old stocks of factory "surplus".

Curious about your "yellow" hayabusa's coloring, almost seems to be a mix of parts from the yellow and orange versions. I know you must have the orange cuz you have the Wraith it came with; Yellow came with the OG Pelican. Seems like your fix is a mix of parts from both, can confirm?

Just re-read that last paragraph lol I need to get to bed. It's been a few years since these buys and I haven't checked the market recently to see how much is still kicking around.

It seems to be general discoloration. I'm pretty sure it used to be all pink. Weird that it happened to just the leg and wraps all the way round, but other figures have discoloration like this too.

It's not like you have another option. I can't even remember the last Mega set to have a baseplate. The only ones I can think of are a decade old.
>>
So this is the last year for Mega right? I only see Pokemon sets at this point. Can't imagine them keeping an entire imprint for one license. I feel like Mega is just about done. They'll either lose the Pokemon license and end Mega all together or rebrand the line as a dedicated Pokemon building block line. It was fun while it lasted.
>>
>>10932507
I came to this thread to ask the same. I only got into MCX for He-Man and got suckered into HALO and any other heroes stuff I could scrounge up.
I'm really sad seeing the megaconstrux website and forum get shut down and new sets dry up... maybe next Halo game we'll get some new stuff? Infinite got so much put out.
It's been fun at least. I'll still be making customs and eventually post them to /toy/ when I do.

they can take this lul as an opportunity to do things they didnt get to do before or in a long while. the locust and box truck from reach comes to mind.
for heroes, Id say maybe some halo legends characters? we never got daisy, 1337 and the tard brute, etc.
or they could just make up vehicles and vehicle color schemes. theyve done it before lol.
>>
the local wal shart clearanced what was left of their mega halo stuff. it was a few pic related for 8.50 burgers and at about a dozen hornets for 16 burgers.
its really sad to me. I remember back in 2011 when mega blocks halo commanded a solid slice of the toy aisle. it was awe inspiring. cut to the last few years and it was literally just a few sets in the corner, below all the pokemon stuff (is the pokemon craze still going?). I doubt walmart will ever stock halo sets again (at least, not for a while), and target already stopped some time ago. its sad to see.
>>
has mega abandoned the turtles stuff? i really liked a lot of the figures they made.
>>
>>10941985
jumping off of this, its kind of impressive that mb halo was able to take off and last as long as it did. there were even a few other similar toy lines that sprung up (pic related), all trying to be the next mega halo. knex titanfall and erector gears didnt last one year, lol.
what do you anons think? what went wrong? was it ever a good idea to begin with, to make a "lego star wars" out of rated m games? I love mega halo and dont want to see it die like the others.
>>
>>10941985
The local liquidation centre once had a pile of pic related for 5 maplebucks a pop, think I only bought a couple cuz the fig is a named character and I already had so many Ghosts from collecting the line from the beginning. Guess it was a foreshadowing of the decline; just a few years before that I remember when Halo Series 6 blindbags came out and Walmart had an entire standalone island display for the dozen cases of them in stock. Every series after that one they started stocking fewer cases, wondering if that was the high water mark for them.
>>10941998
It was a right place and right time kind of thing, Halo was in its golden age of the best games, the best multiplayer and Mega pulled off a genius move by snapping up the license, knowing Lego likely passed on it cuz M rated. Once they got a generation of Halo fans hooked it was easy enough to keep stringing us along as we got older, had disposable income and Halo was still sacrosanct. Before the dark times, before 343...

Following on that thought, I think Mega ultimately succumbed to victory disease after hitting it big with Halo. Until that point they'd been getting by with modest success from their Pyrates, Dragons and other lines but they just couldn't truly compete with the Lego monolith. But when they placed a bet on Halo they went all in, improving their QC and designing rad minifigs that were a world removed from the classic but quaint Lego fig. Their foray into CoD was similarly well timed to capitalize on its own golden age, doubling down with their 2nd generation minifig design.

Then things started to show cracks along the edges: Halo was handed over to the clutches of that vile gangster, 343 Studios; CoD got carried away with its new game every year policy; Mega invested in more licenses that unfortunately didn't see the heights of success of the first two (TMNT, Destiny and AssCreed notably). Amidst all this was the Matty takeover with also contributed to the overall decline of things.

I've been invested in Mega Halo since the beginning and personally I'm ok if it finally dies (along with the franchise itself). I would probably still buy new sets if the line continues but my enthusiasm has all but withered away. I still get great enjoyment from my collection though, I'm of the "don't be sad it's over, be happy that it happened" mindset.

Getting back to that time at Walmart with the dozen cases of Series 6, I still have one each of the three "Mountain Dew" Elites from that wave unopened, for a rainy day I guess.

Yeah Mega TMNT has been dead for years, was by far the most common Mega I would see on deep discount everywhere for a while. Wonder if they got bogged down by having a +4 type line, a line based on the classic cartoon show, another on the new movies, another still for collectors... was never into it myself but I picked some things up on clearance like these mooks from one of the blind bag series. Wish I'd gotten more, they suffer from brown hands and several have broken over time.

>halo is pretty fucked, nothing new since the shitty tv shows
lego star wars has been in this sort of situation before. 2006-2007 had nothing major going on and 2016 onwards was rough, and they survived it all. maybe its not a fair comparison though, but its the fairest I could think of. also yeah those arent the only problems facing mega halo.

true. halo has a really cool world with lots of cool vehicles and things to make sets out of, especially after halo wars. plus they came in at 2009, when lego star wars was also still making the rounds.
>Then things started to show cracks along the edges: Halo was handed over to the clutches of that vile gangster, 343 Studios; CoD got carried away with its new game every year policy; Mega invested in more licenses that unfortunately didn't see the heights of success of the first two (TMNT, Destiny and AssCreed notably).
yeah I think megas license choices after halo were poor. cod was bad because they had an entire face lift every year, which was impossible to keep up with. I dont know too much about destiny or assassins creed, but it seems those lines didnt do too well. there was also that game of thrones thing, where they jumped on after the show went to shit and was ending and pulled out before house of the dragon reeled the license back (so Ive heard, anyway).
it seems mega kind of oversaturated here. as in, they put more lines out than people were willing to buy

CoD wasn't as bad cuz it's so generic, other than some named characters who are pretty generic in themselves and a few game-specific sets it did well as a military line. If they started up a new military line without a license it would probably do alright, though it's hard to say with brand recognition driving everything these days.

Yeah GoT was way too little, too late, a shame cuz there was so much potential but the hype train had crashed and burned. I'm happy we at least got a few nice sets including the two big dragons.

well, yeah, at first. back when the most recent games were bo2 and mw3. I was referring to when aw onwards came in. from 2011-2018, we went from modern to slightly futuristic to even more futuristic to futuristic cyber horror to space to ww2. it didnt have a consistent identity in terms of artwork, which didnt lend well to the toy line which basically had to rebrand every year. even halo, with all the artstyle changes 343 made, didnt change that wildly in such a little amount of time.
>If they started up a new military line without a license it would probably do alright, though it's hard to say with brand recognition driving everything these days.
well, they did, kind of. adventure force was from I want to say 2014 or something. now, granted, it was not the awesome stuff the cod line had. But if they did do that, they would just wound up competing with themselves.
yeah, mistakes were made. but with that being said, now that mega doesnt do cod anymore, maybe they can try starting their own military themed line again? and this time with the cool gear and stuff? its an idea.

They tried to reboot/rebrand it a few years later with Wonder Builders but I think they misjudged the market. Ngl I love the tank set we got and I have a soft spot for the figs, but overall it was a flop and deservedly so. If/when they do another military line I'd hope they go with a color-based faction system rather than real or near-real world stuff, like what some Chinese brands do. I will remain convinced til the day I die that one of the factors in Mega CoD's untimate downfall was someone or someones complained that they were making Nazis and the fallout helped sink an already shaky line.

Think I'd give my vote to the Bradley. It's a great design, detailed interior with multiple points of access, forward hatch that lifts up to reveal the engine... brings fond memories of Battlefield Bad Company 2, ironically. There is also a decent Chinese copy on the market.

Witcher could have been a bunch of small character releases and builds.
So could Vikings....
Or Beyonders....

I'm thinking about selling my whole Halo mega blocks collection. Anyone have any tips for selling a whole haul? Do I just box her up and slap it on ebay?
