I pick Apple of Space.
It's the smallest and safest change. Apple of Time provokes "catastrophic" damage, and with 8 bln people someone's going to find a way and motive to do it. Apple of Nature might proportionally cause humans to devalue other humans vis-a-vis non-human life. Apple of Empathy would be the best for increasing my lifespan by efficient use of the global resources of humanity, but it's too creepy and dystopian even if everything goes "well". Apple of Mystery is a mystery box, hard pass.

I know the author is some variety of chinese because the edgy and antagonistic darkness-themed narrator mentioned that every man wished for a bigger penis. It was themed around conquering a fantasy world and generally average, but likely took years to make.

I wish I'd bothered to save it. It was so average I don't remember the name or any besides the broadest of details. The CYOA was impressively in the middle. So boring its discussion lasted for about a week, about a year ago, but I can't find anything of it in 4plebs because I don't think anybody actually talked about anything involving the CYOA itself and I don't remember most of the contents.

If you're into really degenerate girls and are politically useful, go for it.

>>92743027
From what I remember in the series as examples:
>God-level holy magic
Millis has a giant barrier that protects the whole city from danger, and there's a god-level holy magic spell that gets referenced as the only cure to magic stone syndrome, the spell itself is an entire tome under protection of the Millis church. God-rank barrier magic is referenced as a way to seal even the strongest characters in the setting assuming they don't get outside help.

>Summoning Magic
Perugius has the ability to keep 12 high-level spirits with various abilities summoned at all times to serve him. Summoning magic is also able to summon things/people from "our" world.

All in all, I got really lucky.
Rank 6 mana pool with a rank 6 magical skill, one of the least crippling curses, one companion in my starting continent (the other would have to find some way to arrive at my continent), minor nobility on the continent on which most of my people, elves, live.
A downside is there are probably few Summoning&Array teachers available on Millis continent and I can't travel abroad due to Agoraphobia, so I'd have to hope I can invite some tutors in from abroad.

The fates distribution is really bad - no fate boost to either survival or magical or martial advancement, and weak fate to sense is fairly bad too.
I don't need even benefit much of the +100% romance boost, as an elven noble I'm set in that field anyway.
Compared to the luck elsewhere, the bad fate rolls are still a drop in the pond.

At least for the near future.
When a war starts between the demons and Millis, I may be fucked as I can't escape west due to Agoraphobia. The lack of survival fate boost will hurt then.
>>
>>92743122
No, but Asuran nobility and Ariel especially are all into a bunch of weird fetishes. She has a whole scene where she pisses herself from fear and then gets off on it.

Mana powers Touki. Hard to give good metrics on consumption, it probably just depends on your use rate. The one character with both God-rank Touki and Mana was able to fight like dozens of god-rank enemies without running out, though he's pretty busted and uses fighting techniques to conserve mana.
>>
>>92743222

Sounds hot. I'm only on ep 2 though, I'll binge it over the weekend.

Also touki is a bit like a forcefield to protect yourself, right?

In the context of the cyoa is there any reason you should ever pick God level in any of the fighting or magical skills? Seems to me you can train up to that level fairly easily with enough time and the right teachers, and only mana capacity and fighting spirit really matter. If you pick unaging you'll eventually master them all anyway in like a century.

>>92744020
God level is explicitly like Rudeus, just because you can't read doesn't mean you have to make being retarded your personality.
>>
>>92744034
Rudeus has God level on multiple categories. A conservative estimate puts him at around 150 points. He's also a jobber among the top tiers. This is a jobber cyoa.

>>
>>92744449
>have to minmax to be a mid-tier nobody.
Hitogami was right.
>>
>>92742748
So obviously Summoning & Magic Arrays is the strongest magic here? It's the only magic that can buff other magic, you don't need to be God-level in Elemental Magic if you can use Magic Arrays to boost a King-level attack to God-level.

Plus you can give yourself Blessings through Magic Arrays, so you don't need to spend points on things like Unaging or Telepathy right from the start.

Elementary Magic Arrays also says you can summon weak spirits for mana? If you can use spirits as an alternate source for mana then a Magic Arrays mage with enough spirit slaves could have basically infinite mana.

And Summons levels scale really highly. Saint-level is the level of S-class adventurers and King-level Magic Arrays can summon S-class spirits. It logically follows that God-level Magic Arrays can summon and control Emperor-class beings. Why personally fight anyone when you can get your army of Emperor lackeys to do it for you?

Take Arrays and curbstomp the entire setting, anon.
>>
>>92744505
In the past of the setting magic arrays were dominant, but they were replaced by chanting when shorter chants were invented, so presumably magic arrays are inferior for combat.
>>
>>92744505
You're vastly overestimating the power of Arrays, and also forget that to make use of it at a kevel similar to what yiu describe costs nealy all your points and leaves you with very few that you're forced to spend on other schools of magic to even make use of Arrays in the first place. You have no ability to defend yourself, and that magic type does not lend itself to combat in any effective way. You're pretty much one drunk soldier away from getting murked. Considering all the hax in the setting you're cooked. All the other maxed out Array users also are top tier mages in other areas and super strong combatants, so you're fucked regardless. One big summoning or array and you're gonna get murdered and you have no way to avoid that, which means maxing it out is a trap option, except if you don't max it out, there's no point in picking it in the first place. Then again, this cyoa is so fucked you may as well shoot your shot and try to make a super ritual or try to achieve planeswalking or something before you get murdered (btw, it's not even "bad guys" that would come for you. Rudeus would 100% kill you on sight just on suspicions alone or under Orsted's orders, and that's the weakest and most rational guy you could possibly hope to go after you, and waiting him out just means now you have to deal with his superhuman spawn who are also retarded and will reason even less than him.)
>>
>>92744505
the strongest build is having four 100pts custom companions
>>
>>92744593
Nta, but I've only read/watched this series, when I played the cyoa I picked array/summoning to planeswalk away, at worst your return to your earth and start using magic for a better life, at best you go to any place you want.
Also the trick is taking summoning, high potential in mana and fighting and then using your summons to teach you how to be a better fighter.
If you pick immortality you are also immortal
>>
>>92742748
What goes into Quest Fate? "doubled boosts/weakness from all sources" as in from all the gains in other Fates and doubled or what?
>>
>>92744657
Good point. So..

Water God/North God godly ninja
Sword God/Water God tanker
Elementalism/Holy Magic god mage
Elementalism/Summon god mage
While you're a top class noble with god level summon/holy magic with 10 buys of companions for the above-mentioned 4 custom companions.
>>
>>92744577
Makes sense, as you have to prepare an array beforehand and you may run into trouble "carrying" an Array around. Don't see why you can't use them in tandem though, prepare an array that empowers Elemental magic and use it with Elemental chants. And if you need to carry them around, you could always go with the Book of Gore/Cursed Signs route, or pioneer a form of Arrays similar to the microscopic circuitry of our world. (Wasn't someone in the setting doing that?)

>>92744593
>and also forget that to make use of it at a kevel similar to what yiu describe costs nealy all your points and leaves you with very few that you're forced to spend on other schools of magic to even make use of Arrays in the first place.
Having other magic expands what you can do with Arrays but you don't need them to make use of Arrays. Enchanting, Curses/Blessings, Summoning, Teleportation, Reincarnation, Resurrection(Zombie Mode), and Time Manipulation are all inherent to Arrays and Arrays alone. And God-level in Arrays only costs 28 points, 46 if you take all its upgrades. You still have plenty to use on the other schools.

>You have no ability to defend yourself
If you're unable to figure out how to leverage the things I mentioned earlier to defend yourself then that's solely an imagination problem on your part.

>the rest of your post
You seem oddly eager to paint yourself as pitifully weak despite the power being offered. Is this a new shitposting tactic? I've seen this behavior in regards to numerous other CYOAs lately.

>>
>>92744857
This isn't anything new anon. With Magi anons were complaining about your power level despite being second only to Auctors. Entropist discussion fell apart because anons thought being a universe destroying god of death was "too weak". You can never win with powerfags.
>>
>>92744890

As teachers for the crown prince of the magic nation, they should be at least emperor if not god rank in their specialization.

I tried making Rudeus (the cyoa doesn't exactly correspond to how magic works in the series, or Rudeus's powers specifically) and I end up at almost exactly 100 (I looked things up from the wiki)
. How did you get 150?
+100
Human

Wealthy -3 (+12 boons) // Comfortable might describe his rural sheriff family better, but he has a very lucky upbringing in terms of teachers and companions and learning languages; let's say the boons from Wealthy cover that

God level mana pool -28
Saint level elemental magic -10
Water speciality*2 -4
Fire specialty*3 -6 (not really, but it represents the one God level thing)
Silent elemental magic -5
Lightning magic -4
Saint level holy Magic -10 (not really, he knows no Divine magic, and only intermediate Barrier magic, but it ends up cheaper within the cyoa if taken as a bundle)
Hypnosis magic -4 (not really, he can't use it to put people to sleep)
Disturb magic -4
Elementary level summoning & magic arrays -1 (because he went to the magic school where the arrays are taught?)
Time Magic -10 (not really, he only figured this one out by the time he was an old man about to keel over)

No fighting spirit -0
Intermediate sword god style -3
Elementary Water god style -1
Elementary North god style -1

Foresight eye -4
Clairvoyance eye -2

No blessings
No curses

But this setting is mostly about killing and raping each other. Paul straight up raped someone weaker than him, and she's now his concubine, and god knows how many other women she's done this to. And he's not even all that strong in the grand scheme of things, and almost no character acknowledges his actions as wrong. A mindless murder rape martial build is not only viable, but will be seen as moral by a good chunk of the cast if properly managed. If you ally with Rudy and rape and murder on the side you'll still be seen as a hero and overall good guy. Shit, you might even snatch a granddaughter or great granddaughter of his with no moral repercussions, considering Norn and Ruinerd get married to the opposition of no one.

Sounds like this is an immoral world. MoralGODS are needed on the scene to purify it

Gods seal their power away. The strongest gods are the ones who can charm or mentally fuck you, most notably gods of sex and beauty (because this IS a coomer comedy), like Freya or Ishtar.

>Danmachi
Pick being a God. Max out personal stats and powers at the expense of your familia. Proceed to live in heaven in a perfect Paradise of your choice.

>Mushoku Tensei
No combo powers will make you unbeatable, the strongest guys can still squash you like an ant. For magic it would be maxing out Arrays and trying to planeswalk out of that shithole. For more convenience max out Fighting Spirit and North God Style. Pick one level of the 2 other styles. Then pick immortality, hax etc as you will. You also have some leeway to get some mana and put in some levels into Detox and Healing specialty, or Gravity magic for extra combat prowess, though that one is more expensive. Still not unbeatable by any means so really it's best to keep your head low and try to avoid places where the MC and his descendants will be active around. Even if you're not evil they can very well kill you for their own means, as they're not "good" at all, in fact they might be more dangerous than Hitogami.
>>
>>92745761
What's a Hitogami?
>>
>>92745774
The main villain who wants to destroy the world because uhhh who the fuck knows, though he saves the lives of all the other races whose worlds were destroyed. He will likely try to kill, torture or use you the moment he spots you.

The good guy is Orsted, who is the son of the guy who tried to destroy all of reality. He wants to kill Hitogami for revenge and shit. Afterwards I imagine he'll fuck off somewhere until he eventually chimps out for whatever stupid reason and destroys the world much like Hitogami predicted.

So you're fucked either way and need to start working on that planeswalking as soon as you can.

I want to study magic, invent new magics, and push the boundary of what's possible. Then I'm going to monetize it, spend that money on collecting more knowledge, and repeat this cycle. At worse, it should be a comfortable and fulfilling life. Optimistically, I can leverage my accomplishments to improve the kingdom in every area, as I see fit.
I won't be seeking combat, but I should do fine in most cases. It's enough skill and talent to travel the world for awhile in search of more knowledge.

>>
Bros I'm starting to think we won't get the final build reviews
>>
>>92746497
NTA, my estimate of the MC is this: >>92745141

FWIW I have not read the web/light novel, only read the manga (incomplete) and read the wiki.
So the MC has roughly something like a 100-point build (except his versions of certain options are weaker than the nominal descriptions of the options in the cyoa, as mentioned).
He also ages in normal human tempo, so if you want him to die with zero effort on your part you can wait for him to die of old age.
There are 2 guys with stronger "builds" than the cyoa allows: Hitogami and Orsted. There are also 2 guys named Laplace whose power level is not shown clearly enough to say how it compares to a build from the cyoa.
>>
>>92746586

Become god level in Magic Arrays. Add on to Orsted's curse to make him easy pickings. Plus one of his ultimate techniques, Godsword, can only be defended against with extremely powerful magical items, which only Magic Arrays can make.

A-Anon?
>>
>>92746662
Same as humans. A childhood that lasts for more than 25 years or so is going to be ridiculous for anything.
a 500 year lifespan does give you freedom to come up with an in-between period though, like everyone thinks you're dumb and inexperienced until you've reached 80 years old and have a masters degree in something with 30 years of practice.
>>
>>92746769
A fight between Bagidagi wearing the Golden Armor (a magical tool made by Laplace through Magic Arrays) and Laplace was enough to shatter the continents and create the giant ocean in the middle of Mushoku Tensei's world. It logically follows that a sufficiently powerful application of Magic Arrays alone can create destruction on apocalyptic scales. Or you can use a God-level enhancing array to empower a God-level Elemental spell. Do remember that figures like Hitogami, the First Dragon God, and perhaps Orsted are powerful enough to destroy entire worlds, even in "one strike" in Hitogami's case. Don't underestimate God-level magic.

>>92746778
It's a necessary step to limit Hitogami'as influence in the world anon. Alternatively maybe you can create a new curse that renders people dreamless, that'll also stymie his power.
>>

Wisdom is literally experience, you dolt. It’s the shape your intelligence takes over time. People worship old ass trees. It doesn’t matter how immature you are as a teenager, you’re still “wiser” in your older years, due to experience. You have things to say, things to share, etc. It might be bad or even evil wisdom/experience, but it’s still wisdom/experience nonetheless.

See, the human mind is an interesting piece of hardware. Thrives on novelty. If you do one single thing enough times, you'll bore eventually. Whoever keeps me around here wagered that that'd hold true. The human mind only has so much storage, though. Only so many memories fit in the lump of meat and electricity. I guess I should also add that sex organs don't develop until adulthood either with this race. "Childhood" for this race is spent learning, training, developing social skills and figuring out what you want to do in life. By the time you reach adulthood, you should know what you want to do and have the skills to do it. If the childhood age is long that is. If it's similar to humans then I would remove that aspect of certainty. Not like you can't get bored and change your mind after 100 years either way but in my head it made sense to have a solid and stable start in adulthood if "childhood" is longer.

Chimpanzees share like 97% of our dna, so try to imagine how something even more divergent would act. Their words could go completely over our heads hundreds of times over. Their childish jokes could be unrecognizable to us.

Sorry. Magi Case's lore and making Tristan's image build got me inspired to make another cyoa with some heavy world building. Things like that takes time to write especially since I'm including royal families, celestial pantheon, details on each country/city, items, magic, jobs, quests etc. I know it won't be many anons cup of tea but I'm mostly making it for myself so I'm having fun with all the details.

Ok I have one if you're still around
Hypnosis magic is said to be potentially comboable with voice magic or telephaty
Could you combo it with the demon eye of affection or curse to instantly put someone you look at into your illusion?

>>92747656
In the series hypnosis magic is used only once, offscreen, to put someone to sleep. So, maybe? You could probably combo it with the affection eye, but the curse eye is a damage dealer (and is original to the cyoa).
>>
>>92747708

IIRC high level barriers are big things that are established by drawing magic circles, you can't just shoot them into being like fireballs.
And even after that, your plan is what, that you'll sit inside the barrier you made and pray the enemies go away, while your mana is slowly depleting?

Nta but at higher levels of array magic it does not even need to be prosthetic, you can directly enchant your own body.
>>
>>92747898
Fighting spirit is necessary for combat, even for a mage. You gain reaction time, speed, and toughness. It's not smart to go full glass cannon against opponents faster than your eyes can see.

that means the eye of absorption (and all demon eye effects really) are magical effects themselves, and therefore can also be disabled through things like disturb magic.

A martial build based around predicting attacks with North God senses and Future Sight to counter them with Water God moves. I have Ruby and Norah to design all the magical tools I’ll need for even more power, North God skills to make use of them, and Santino to keep my allies safe in combat when they support me.
My fate lets me know about and influence events in order to best make use of future sight, and there’s no Rudeus to complicate things for me. Given prep time, I should be able to overcome practically any enemy.

Comfort/Survival/Influence/Magical Growth

Build focused on survival and easy life. Using the combo of eye of affection + hypnosis it should be possible to put people under my control with just a look. Blessing of trust on top of that and I should be able to get away with pretty much anything in a country of humans.

In a fight holy magic is still pretty potent at god level and barriers as well as illusions can mean that I can do pretty well. Worst case scenario silent casting of holy magic means healing is on the table even if my lungs are destroyed.

Aurora's there for the influence, Erin as a bodyguard and Pascal as a butler/assassin. The curse can be dealt with with my own holy magic.

I welcome all anons into my kingdom so long as they remember who's in charge
>>
>>92748695
No holy or elemental magic for basic utility is surprising, but I guess companions that have those are good enough.

That's bold, and by not taking God rank fighting spirit, insane even. I respect it. At least, it is probably possible with the build. Hopefully it doesn't tragically end with party members dying.

Not many kingdoms have king class fighters right? I remember Millis's best fighter being Rudeus's aunt who's like weaker than kid eris. At the very least, I don't think they'd be able to abduct me or the like.

I'm not sure if Migurd noble makes sense where I'm starting, but nothing stops me from taking it.

My problem with franchise CYOAs is if you don't know anything about the series and its mostly obscure anime or light novels, you are not going to get a full understanding of what is happening in the CYOA or how to live out your build.

>>
>>92750800
I don't have a problem with that. I let my imagination fill in the blanks and it usually does a better job than the source material.

If you want to reverse the Mana Stone Syndrome yourself:
>1.
You hope you won't be ostracized or killed early in your life due to the Curse of Hatred. If your royal authority is cut off, you have no means to cure Mana Stone Syndrome and you die.
Perhaps you get lucky and survive that step. Then:
>2.
You hope you will find people to locate and nab your evil twin quickly, before the Magic Stone Syndrome debilitates you, because you need to cast the God-level cure yourself, because there is noone else capable of casting it(other than Orsted?). If it takes too long to find your evil twin, you die.
Perhaps you get lucky and survive that step. Then:
>3. You hope your evil twin will survive such a capture. If he dies, you die.
Perhaps you get lucky and survive that step. Then:
>4.
You hope, after he has been captured, you can "even begin trying to fix the curse" successfully, which is certainly phrased like it's chancy. Whatever that entails, if it fails, you die.
Perhaps you get lucky and survive that step. Then:
>5.
You hope to find a source to learn Curing magic. After you have fixed the Split curse, you get your mana pool, and can start learning curing magic in earnest, but outside the Millis continent Curing magic was taught only at very low levels, it's one of the Millis national secret magics. If you fail to obtain teachers or teaching materials to learn curing magic, you die.
Perhaps you get lucky and survive that step. Then:
>6.
You hope you can reach God-level of curing magic, in however small time window is left before you become too crystallized to continue studies or cast spells.

You are relying on surviving every single step here, mostly by luck!

The better bet is to somehow contact Orsted and get him to cure you, so you at least get extra time (although if your evil twin dies, that won't help in the long term).

If you insert the current mushoku builds into the main story, which one disturbs it the most?
>>

Also
>Tell royal mages to [...] teleport
Ranoa mages don't know anything about teleportation. Iirc teleportation magic was even illegal at the start of the series.
>>
>>92750932
Shit.

But I do have 2 Summoning & Arrays teachers who can teleport. Even if suppose teleportation doesn't work, divination still works, right? I can send a group of elite mages to capture.
>>
>>92750800
before cyoa was exiled to /tg/, most cyoas were unabashed self-insert for the widest appeal to a given boards audience.
Afterwards, most people who remained interested were found to have broad bases of knowledge and/or open minds willing to learn, so relying on shared knowledge and lurk moar mentalities meant not-knowing isn't a big deal- you can find out or impose your own tropes and interpretations.

As cyoa becomes more widespread overtime I have observed that 'order' increases (attribution, titling, version numbers and changelogs, etc), what follows this 'considerate order' tends to be 'enforced order', oft under the guise of sensible consideration
>'Be cool' to 'don't be dicks' to 'don't be dicks or else'

Preferring to avoid that pseudo-censorious pitfall, I recommend using wikis.

tl;dr: Sure, and that'll change as soon as people want to appeal to those who don't want to know about the series they like enough to create for.

Nta and I am not going to argue with the general idea of your post. I just wanted to point out that Split does not make an "evil" twin, just an "hostile" one. I personally tought it was an insurmountable crippling drawback before I read it better, but now I think it's manageable even if still crippling to most builds. I would say that because of how complex the process of fusing back seems to be arrays are the key, as with all other complex magic problems in the setting, and arrays have one key aspect that other magic does not have, anyone can make them, so you don't need mana to train them.
>>
>>92750984
Schizoposting.
>>
>>92750960
Still nta, but as I mention in my other post you don't need mana to train arrays, only to use them. You can create as many god level arrays as you want, you just need to find enough mana to power them from somwhere else before you get your pool back. Hell you could figure out some way to fix the problem before you even catch your twin that way.
