when did you realize that Pioneer turned into crap?for me, it was "all will be one".
What animal would Kaya, Narset, and Sorin turn into if they go to bloomborrow?
>>92598975>Kaya, Narset, and SorinBlack cat, monkey, vampire bat
Ran out of inspiration for kitchen table decks. Wanted to do faeries, wound up switching to Dimir control using Bitterblossom to fill up board, now thinking I'll just lose too much life making faeries and casting black removal, added some lifelink and now it's just a midrange deck which I didn't want.Maybe I'll just build a vamp variant around generating blood tokens or something.
>>92598823Ban Sunfall. It basically made midrange decks unusable on its own.
>>92598893I think somewhere around MoM I just stopped having any fun playing the format (or magic in general). It felt like the decks just autopiloted themselves and tried to do their bullshit faster than your opponent could do it. I just despise the every card is a threat game design that has taken over magic and it's one of the reasons I quit.
>TQFree him.
>>92598975I dont know but i would love FoxJace being a real card instead of a fucking concept

>>92600630At the very least it happens to planeswalkers, similar to how they shrink down when visiting Segovia. >>92600686That was BEFORE Omenpaths were 'normal'. You could finagle an explanation along the lines of "when Phyrexia was using them it was unnatural but the Multiverse has since incorporated Omenpaths into its very being because the Multiverse can just Do That". Can I please get some feedback on this idea for a modern deck? I played something like this in Standard back a decade or so ago, and wanted to try playing it again at my store's modern FNM. I am pretty out of touch with the meta, but it seems like my biggest concerns are early aggro and hand disruption. I am sure it isn't Tier 1 quality, but would a list like this be able to play with modern decks or would it get smoked off the table? The idea is to disrupt, stall, and outlast the first couple turns, before clearing the table and grinding out a win via card advantage thanks to karmic guide and reveillark recursion. Wall of Omens and Dawnbringer Cleric seem like they can stall out Ragavans. If anybody has any suggestions for cards that have been printed in the last decade or so, that would be swell too. I have been pretty out of touch, like I said. Of course I will probably throw in a couple of Cavern of Souls and Hallowed Fountains, but the mana base is very basic right now. >>92601423If ragavan and the elementals (Grief, Fury, Subtlety, Solitude) didn't exist in modern then you could probably play something like this, but only with Leyline shenanigans since those busted 5c decks. For a better reference, even something like Grixis Shadow's Shadow can't compete in the current meta. It's just too slow.Don't worry though, the next modern set will make the format play like legacy with turn 1 wins
>>92601788Modern is basically turn 2 wins because you immediately know whether or not you won by then
>>92601801>>92601788>>92601568That's disappointing. I was hoping that I would be able to use an upgraded standard deck, like I remember it way back in like 2013. I saw that leylines get played a lot, so I figured the mainboard Dawnbreaks could could bust up those.

there are some Man-made Horrors 3 floating around in reddit, but they are far too blurry to read
>>92601932I looked at top 8 decks and saw a lot of things abusing graveyard reanimation and the evoking free elementals. I thought that if there was some sort of one-sided graveyard lock I could utilize that, but I couldn't find anything like that. Leyline might stop Thoughtseize + double-Grief t2.
>>92601920If you enjoy this style of UW creature deck I recommend looking up UW Emeria lists. >>92603863Well, Manmade Horrors making more bloodmoon/magus effects, now on blue. It is bonkes but should help the format once a leyline ban happens (so in 2 years)
>>92603863>it’s on a creature Yawn, next
>>92603863epic
>>92603863These effects only lead to non-games. Why is this being printed? Did Delver decks really need a Magus that pitches to Force of Will?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dXl-dMGSULsI wish there was a Magic Arena for Premodern... without the dumb animations.
>>92604019Buy an ad faggot.
>>92603044Nobody cares. It’s still all Domain and Esper midrange hell despite what Arena BO1 says. Even SSS can’t crack those two decks. Mono white still forever cucked. Rotation won’t be any better either.
>>92603863>Blood moon effectAAAAAAAAAAAAA
>>92604024Do you really believe Mengu posts on 4chan? Think before submitting.
>>92603863It's a bloodmoon in blue, but it's one a creature. Hm. Has a relevant creature type too.Hard to judge Don't luke them making a non red bloodmoon effect though
>>92603863Just why...
>>92603863>merfolk can easily maindeck 3~4 copies of thisamulet and tron players in shambles holy fuck
Imagine if they made a cycle of them so every colour could Blood Moon you LMAO

>>92603863Very nice. Love me prison pieces.
>>92603863So this is it...3rd impact beginning.
>>92603863BASED BASED BASED BASED BASED
>>92604242You can spot the entrenched losers because they all see this card and spew bullshit about Blood Moon being a healthy card.
>>92603863>Turns off your mutavaultsYeah I don't think so chief
>>92603863interesting that they made the cost 1UU as opposed to 2U so you can't ancient tomb chrome mox it on turn 1
>>92604258Blood moon is a strong card but it's kept in check by being in redGiving Blue a native blood moon effect on a relevant creature type is extremely dangerous, beyond dangerous. Maybe it being on a creature keeps it on check, but that thing can get out of hand
>>92603863It all returns to nothingIt all comes Tumbling downTumbling downTumbling dooooooooown
>>92604305Maybe this will be the card that finally makes people admit that Blood Moon effects are a complete disgrace and never should've been printed.
>>92598893Honestly, somewhere during the beginning. Field of the Dead used to be Pioneer legal while bolt still isn't.
why did blue get a blood moon effectwhy does blue get everything
>>92604379The fact that Red got it in the first place is an oddity. Blue's historically been the colour with the most "fucking with mana by making things into Islands" effects.
>>92604379BM shouldve been green originally
>>92603863Notably this cannot be played off a Sol Land + fast mana, but it does pitch to FoW. However if you dye everything blue, unlike Moon effects, your opponent can't cast Bolt etc off their now-mountains
i'm terrified one day a suit in a board meeting will ask something like "just how badly does reprinting the reserved list expose us?" and everyone shrugs and we end up with something like Alpha Remastered
mh is the best kind of entertainment because I love dark comedy
>>92604431That would be based though
>>92604431Reserved list cards as expeditions/masterpieces is unironically a not so retarded way for wizards to boost sales for sets. (imagine if they did it for MH4 lmao, it would sell more than LotR)
>>92604450>because I love dark comedyThat’s pretty much what White human art is now
>>92604450That new magus of the islands is a fucking testament to how shit the game design has become. Blood moon effects are already complete cancer, what could go wrong with giving blue access to them?
I don't care. Not Pioneer legal.
>>92604450Then prepare some popcorn because the show is just starting... The shitshow i mean Lmao.

>>92604519Just wait until you see what bullshit they print for 5c decks
Haha wouldn't it be really funny if someone picked up their Boseiju with Daze hahaha
desu moonfolk isn't as bad as everyone's making it out to be. blue is the most relevant color in legacy and merfolk is barely even a deck in modern.
>>92604554Who gives a fuck about the tribe?
>>92603863>Not harbinger of the moon with a merfolk and a blue moon in the artFlavor fail.

>>92604611My deck doesn't run a greedy manabase, imperial, can you say the same?
>basic lands in sideboard to counter new blood moons that every color will getBased MaRo solving the fetch land problem
Here we go, the entrenched competitive grognards who won't just admit that a card is a bad design. Your deck should simultaneously account for the existence of Blood Moon, Chalice of the Void, Ensnaring Bridge, and Rest in Peace without diluting its own gameplan down to the point where you can't beat decks that don't prepare for those cards.
>>92603272https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=foil+tarmogoyf&_sacat=0&_sop=15&rt=nc&LH_Sold=1&LH_Complete=1>foil tarmogoyfs are $5 cards now...
>>92604691>Selling your Goyfs to get the money together to buy Fable Shaman tokens
The fucking Merfolk Flash lord that has a built in counterspell mode is one of the most egregious design mistakes I've ever seen in any card game and people just let it pass. Now they can flash that faggot in and then play Ocean Moon on a stick.Does anyone else not see that after WotC finally got embarrassed about Humans being pushed they've neutered Humans giving them fuck all for 5 years now but htey're absolutely diarrhea SHITTING out busted cards for every other tribe? Vampires, Merfolk, and Birds are pushed as FUCK now.
>>92604736>they've neutered Humans giving them fuck all for 5 yearsHumans remain the most printed creature type and I'm not even going to bother double checking since it's so fucking obvious. The entire reason why Humans was so strong was because the spread of effects printed on the tribe is ridiculous. You've got disruption, Thalia, bounce effects, hasty fliers, all sorts of shit that other tribes couldn't even dream of.
>>92602369rules text isn't breaking the rules. as everyone said, colour identity is different than both colour and rules text. though, there is a single card that does refer to colour identity in its rules text.
>>92604736I will believe you when i see A SINGLE FUCKING GOOD ZOMBIE, anon. And i mean a really fucked up shit, not Champion level trash. Until that fuck off.
>>92604820Zombies are a cursed tribe because the default zombie token is a 2/2... if zombies were a 1/1 or 1/2 or they went all in on Decayed maybe you'd have something but they fucked up at the baseline and now zombies will never be good lest they be gamebreaking. You picked the wrong horse zomboy.
You're gonna feel real stupid when it turns out they're doing a full cycle and the black one is a zombie.
>>92604855They're not unless they remake Magus of the Moon as a goblin
>>92604787And that card only references it because it's a Commander card, because other cards with that text don't have that and still don't affect colour identity. Realistically it should just be reminder text, but hey.
>>92604883Or... Apparently it does. Huh. I didn't know that. Thought most things like that wouldn't affect identity but I guess it's equivalent to colour indicators.
What the fuck do zombies do?Every other tribe is good because they do something.>Humans do everything>Goblins have multiple angles of attack>Merfolk have flash, blue tempo shit, then become unblockable>Vampires just have actual cheating now and a strong midrange game>Elves make big mana and have access to CoCo and Chord>Elementals have free spells and tons of synergyWhat the fuck do zombies do? Do they go wde? Do they go tall? Do they evade? Do they play the long game? Do they have midrange? WotC has no idea how this archetype is supposed to play. The best zombie card ever printed is Field of the Dead, which has nothing to do with zombies. That's how bad this tribe is.
>>92604883>And that card only references it because it's a Commander cardand daretti was a commander card, too. has nothing to do with anything. even non commander cards are referring to commander terms and aspects now. >Realistically it should just be reminder textno it shouldn't, transguild courier's colour identity is 5c. rules text makes it relevant and able to put fallaji wayfarer in any Gx commander deck. like how daretti can only be a commander because of rules text that allows a planeswalker in the command zone.
>>92604922they go wide, reanimate, and have a lot of lords. they've got gravecrawler and that is enough reason to make a zombie deck for me.
>>92604922Zombies are supposed to be value based with the graveyard, either on dying effects or reanimate effects
>2024 Q1 is down for wotc>At the same day MH3 cards leak to the publiclmao, not even subtle.
>>92604922You are a faggot anon.
>>92603863merfolkbros...
>>92604560Are you retarded?
If every color gets a blood moon that's going to fuck the format so hardBasically every deck in modern run non-basic lands over basics. They can't function without hyper efficient mana bases. Like 75% of the decks in modern stop functioning if every deck can side in a hate card and turn their game off I pray to god it's just going to be a single blue card because it will be a true format rotation if there's more
>>92602398Looks like Omo Queen of Vesuva actually reads>Each land with an everything counter on it is every land type in addition to its other types.
>>92605144>they are making rangeling a real thinggoddamn
>>92605158Probably never gonna exist innately on a land, and this is a Commander card anyway.
>>92605138It's probably just Blue, it's an effect that 'makes sense' for Blue compared to the rest. Green can make everything 'ALSO' forests, I don't think Urborg is actually something Black should be doing, and White just doesn't fuck with lands like that at all.
>>92605138BEHOLD
>>92605169>Probably never gonna exist innately on a landdon't put it past them. we absolutely might see a land with "rangeling." maybe not keyworded, but a land that says "this land is all land types." would likely be balanced to have a lot of heavy drawbacks, so as not to break tron lands, but it is possible. they print bullshit i wouldn't have thought theyd be willing to print all the time.>this is a Commander card anyway.eternal legal
>>92605196Who the fuck cares about Legacy and Vintage.
>>92605206goodbye
>>92604393Everything makes sense when you consider that blood moon was first printed in the mid 90’s. They had no fucking clue what they were doing yet. At the time, this was a way to “even the odds” against players with a full collection of 40 duals
>>92605138We were not ready for Manmade Horros
>>92603863Should have been white
>>92603863>blood moon that pitches to forceLegacy was the only good format. Why is wotc trying to kill it?
People are still playing MtG?Why?
>>92603863Where is my 1GG Nonbasics are Forests 2/2 Elf?
>>92605877Some anons just want to see the world burn to ashes uh?
>>92605841I have friends that play it and we like some of the settings for TTRPG campaigns. We run un-set cards that we're cool with playing because we know we aren't trying to run Ponza on each other.
{1}{C}ArtifactAll nonbasic lands are Wastes.
>>92605138This is price of not banning triomes.
>>92605138>Basically every deck in modern run non-basic lands over basics. They can't function without hyper efficient mana bases.oh no greedy shitnigger decks cant slam leylineswhat a tragedy
>>92606222fpbp
This will just make monored, a color that has been getting exponentially more oppressive every year, even more oppressive because it won't have to adapt while everyone playing more than 1 color will get fucked in the ass.Monored is way too overtuned as a color now and it's kind of ruining the game.
Garfield never intended for decks to effortlessly run more than 3 colors.
>>92606255Garfunkel expected people to only buy 20 packs maximum in their entire lifetime and only ever gain new cards through trading or buying packs so shut the fuck up
>>92606300Don't forget the idea was that players would acquire cards by playing for ante, which was a policy so dumb it formed the premise for (post-s0) YuGiOh.
>>92606086Make it an Eldrazi Mount or no sale.
>>92605841Because despite it all, the core game is still fun.
>>92605138
Clearly the solution here is to ban Island.
>>92606511What core game?Magic's core is resources.Resources matter less now than they ever have because every deck has retarded gas and cheat mechanics, and even if they didn't the card quality is so high it's degenerated the gameplay to "do you have it?" every turn.
>>92602398I think the pyroblast is butthole mana due to being more restrictive. A 1 generic or 1 white blast effect for monocolored would be mental misstep tier played everywhere. Also this is a great delver and merfolk card. biggest issue with blood moon has been shutting yourself off from murktides. this lets you run 1 basic mountain and still be able to cast everything.
>>92606648Yeah because Delver and Merfolk need all the help they can get
>>92598809ppl who play mtg still are part of why card games suck dick. I hate you all.
just bought into the epic storm on mtgo, here's to hoping manmade horrors 3 doesn't rotate the whole deck away

>>92606875We already have Clancaller and Sylvan Anthem. Just draw better.
>>92606844the storm is rarely meta but it's also rarely at an unplayable state, people still play basically old ANT lists and manage to get enough wins to pop up in league dumps sometimes
>>92606936im looking forward to play some leagues with TES but right now I'm really awful at turning a good hand into a win on turn 1 or 2. Feels like I need to take a whole course to play this deck but im having fun just goldfishing in single player

>>92606921>play a 2cmc 1/1 to counter Bowmasters
>>92607104The left sure. The right needs to be a 2/3.
>>92605138Good. There should be consequences / counterplay for 3, 4 and 5 colour soup decks.
>>92605138>Modern players have gotten so used to mega-greed fetch/shock/triome manabases that even the concept of having to actually play some fucking basics is apocalyptic
>>92607444>mfw my kitchen table decks run perhaps 6 non basics max.
>>92607444As someone who jammed Skred Red back in the day, moon effect do not cause people to run more basics. They just encourage answers to Moon and nongames when the answer isn't drawn. I imagine this causes more people to play Dismember than it does to run basics.
>>92607444>"Just play some basics"Just draw the out while your opponent's deck functions at full power until you do.
