If Canada and the UK are important pro wrestling countries, why don't they have major promotions like Mexico and Japan?
>>
>>14427953
Because the actual major promotions people want to see actually travel to them with some relative frequency. They're not just stuck with the ones that are there
>>
wwe raped the uk
>>

The UK raped itself to be fair. Then all the marks jumped at contracts not worth the paper they were printed on and finalized the raping. Oh and then they were literally rapists which further solidified the scene's raping which it's yet to recover from because the actual rapists are still protecting and covering for other rapists to keep them in the scene that they're raping

16 is legal here you yank mong

Oh good I guess that means we can just forget about consent laws then oi bruv
>>
Canada's proximity to the US means Canadian content is often overshadowed by American content especially since it has about 1/10th the population.

who said that

AEW RULES
>>
canada has a hundred tiny promos
>>
>>14427953
UK downfall is because veterans doesn't want to put young guys over so they left to US. Canada in other hand, they're let WWF to fuck them over

>she doesn't know stampede wrestling
>she doesn't know the one that big daddy wrestled in
>she doesn't know Paiges mom's promotion
that's a y*kes from me
>>
Because US and Canada are the same broader market and major Canadian promotions were all killed with the rest of the territories.

Stu had not intention of expanding. He promoted wrestling out of his damn house, promoted shows in his own city, toured the few bordering states and the provinces next to him and that was it. He had a stranglehold on wrestling airing unopposed for decades until McMahon showed up and bought out him and the Tunney's in Toronto. Wrestlers came to him, not the other way around. Stampede was more like a training ground or a loop than anything else and besides, the climate is absolute shit and the pay is in Canadian pesos. The money was to be made in the States. As much as Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and North Platte, Nebraska have riveting audiences for wrestling shows, getting to those shows with Stu sounded like a fucking nightmare. A ring truck, and a shitty old van with bald tires, no radio, no heat and packed to the nines with huge wrestlers going from town to town and the only thing keeping you warm in white out -40 blizzard conditions was Andre the Giants beer farts.

There is nowhere Stampede could have expanded to, their territory bordered the fucking AWA on two sides, they did go into the west coast Canadian market when the promotion there floundered, and they weren't going to get random US national TV to promote fly in shows like the southern promotions on TBS. On top of it being a physically massive territory.

Also you have no fucking idea where Nebraska is.
>>
>>14432593
So there's no major Canadian promotion and they stuck in territories system until Vince takeover?

The UK had a major promotion, once they were gone there was no need for a home grown replacement because there was no language barrier to watching WWF. Also the NXT UK debacle.
>>
>>14433135
Vince already bought most of Canada by mid-1984 when the territories were overwhelmingly intact in the US still.
>>
we're both shitty vassals of the US and accept their slop in all cases
>>
>>14433554
Like Australia, except the US will barely even make the effort to fly out here.

Anyway there's a reason Australian wrestling's equivalent of "making it to the big leagues" is going to Japan.
>>
>>14427953
We did but Big Daddy killed it. He's only remembered for refusing to put young talent over, never once going to the top turnbuckle in his entire career and hiring Jimmy Saville who molested a girl at an event.
>>
The biggest promoters in Canada and the UK were very small minds. Vince Sr respected them and their area of focus.
Vince Jr did not.
>>
RevPro is probably the biggest promotion in Bri*ain

Based New JaCHAD cunts
>>
>>14433135
Once WWF took over, that was it. Stu, along with the Tunney's in Toronto and the Lebelle's in L.A. were the only ones to willingly sell their territories over to Vince. Stu was smart enough to see the writing on the wall cause he couldn't compete against New York and he knew it.
>>14433031
>Also you have no fucking idea where Nebraska is.
Does anybody?
>>
>>14433704
>Vince Jr did not
