Why hasn't anyone surpassed it yet?
Mozart's last three symphonies.
>The SeerGoing insane and rejecting all that is good and holy. A metaphor for the output of the band up to and including this album.>To Be KindIn his naivete, all of the Ten Commandments are broken. This album is about a life of sin seeking love. >The Glowing ManThis album is about redemption, being forgiven by God after baptism and finally finding peace in His love. It's called the Rebirth trilogy for a reason. It's about being born again.
>>121820141lodger is a HUGE drop off from the first two, so I don't know about your premise
>>121820141Cale's trilogy for Island is infinitely better
>>121820141Closest to the quality of the Berlin Trilogy imo is The Downward Spiral, The Fragile, and With Teeth, or The Sound's first three albums. MJ surpasses Bowie with Off The Wall, Thriller, and Bad>>121820474They're all good albums but none are faultless and I'm not sure I agree with the idea pcrel supposes>>121820543Heroes is the worst of the trilogy. Lodger is different but only has one bad song
>>121820819>Heroes is the worst of the trilogyyou're actually out of your mind
>>121820826Heroes starts off cringe but gets good starting with the title track. Low maybe has one or two shoddy instrumentals but is nearly perfect otherwise. Lodger is inconsistent but is a compilation of some of Bowies best stuff with maybe two bad tracks in the mix. Low and Lodger simply have more good stuff of better quality. Heroes has Blackout, Secret Life of Arabia, and some killer instrumentals but is lacking in comparison to the abundance of great content on the other two albums
>>121820141Not a fan
>>121820998outrageously bad taste
>>121821139Why. I'm not wrong
>>121821134Post a better trilogy then>>121821185None are perfect but they're all solid albums
>>121821185honestly this trilogy beats the bowie trilogy in the op
this is his best trilogy tho
>>121820141I love the Berlin trilogy, but PiL surpassed it easily with their first 3 albums barely a year or two later. Unfortunately, everything they did after was trash.
>>121821453Wrong on every level. You'd be way better saying Diamond Dogs, Young Americans, and Station to Station if you're gonna pick another set of Bowie albums>>121821512Missed on everything
>>121820543Station to Station - Low - Heroes is the better trilogy. But why tout a trilogy when the run starts at Diamond Dogs?
I get bonus points as it’s debut trilogy
>>121821512First Issue is also trash
absolute insane run of music>>121821185alvvays rocks, these three albums are all so great. better than the bowie trilogy>how has no one mentioned kanye's bear trilogy
>>121823756>how has no one mentioned kanye's bear trilogyIt aged like shitOn other hand how has no one mentioned bjork
>>121820141Because Beyoncé hasn't finished her trilogy yet.
>>121823820You mean AI hasn't finished the Beyoncé trilogy, right?
>>121823447>why tout a trilogy when it starts at Diamond Dogs? Why not start with his first Ziggy record then?>>121823515Bruh.jpeg>>121823756Nearly nothing from Alvvays compares to even the most middling Berlin Trilogy songs and Animal Collective is underhated>>121823771>It aged like shitNo it hasn't>On other hand how has no one mentioned bjorkI'm very surprised that I forgot about her first three albums, a better trilogy indeed
>>121823870>Bruh.jpegIt’s better than hack bowie
>>121823756Because it’s not even his best run.>MBDTF>Yeezus>TLOPDon’t get me wrong, bear trilogy is great and all and I think Late Registration is underrated, but CD and Graduation are a tad overrated imo
Behold: the 5 greatest trilogies in music history
>>121820141Low's b-side is the only good thing Bowie has ever done, and it wasn't even him (sounds like Eno all over)
>>121824404You're based for Diamanda and Magma
>>121825229He made Weeping Wall and Subterraneans before meeting with Eno. I do believe Art Decade is 100% not Bowie involved at all
>>121824012Hacks are better than fags>>121824057Only Graduation, CD is nearly as good as LR, t just has a dumb ending>>121824404>Bish BoschOpinion discarded>>121825711>Can, StoogesZased
First 3 Roxy Music albums remain to be my favourite streak of rock albums to this day
>>121826026Ironic fags are still fags
He inspired Marilyn Manson to surpass it with Antichrist Superstar Mechanical Animals and Holy Wood
>>121826477Irony is better than sincerity here>>121826624A terrible trilogy with only 1 good album and three shitty ideas
>>121820819>MJ surpasses Bowie with Off The Wall, Thriller, and BadNot sure how to define a trilogy, but Gaucho, Aja, and The Royal Scam is pretty much flawless, too.
>>121826026If your life were music, you'd be a brass band
>>121820167Beethoven's last three piano sonatas.

>>121820474Close second
>>121828737
>>121821453Not a bad run though. I dont really have an opinion on a Bowie run myself, but I'd personally enjoy listening to this run over the popular Berlin trilogy run. The only one I actually like in the Berlin run is Low, the whole thing is an atmosphere masterpiece. I like a few on Heroes and thats it. This run here though, I love Ziggy completely all the way through (like Low), and many really great tracks on hunky dory and man who sold the world.
>>121820141There is no “Berlin trilogy” strictly speaking, as only Heroes was recorded entirely in Berlin and stylistically Lodger is quite different from the other two. You could include The Idiot in that but that wasn’t recorded even partially in Berlin. Lodger is as much a lone wolf in Bowie’s catalog as Scary Monsters.
>>121820543Lodger is an interesting art rock record. It gets underrated because it doesn't have the experimental ambient tracks but there's some great tracks like Fantastic Voyage
>>121828906probably gets thrown in there because eno's on it
>>121820998wow this post pissed me off. hope we don't meet.
