I've been asked to "DJ" a two day midsommar event hosted by my AA group. I've told them repeatedly:I. Do. Not. Know. How. To. "DJ"I plan to AUX a bit, but am looking for good pre-recorded mixes and sets that I can play that will get people vibing and dancing at the end of the two nights. I myself hated the term 'self centered' and told people in therapy "I'm NOT self-centered, how can I be, I hate myself, and all I do is try and be nice to people", but they pointed out that my anxiety and phobia of people STILL stemmed from a concern of what people thought of ME. My self-hatred still revolved around ME. It was demonstrated that most of my mental activity was stemming from a pre-occupation with myself. This is one of many versions of what I'm calling morbid self-centredness. It's got nothing to do with lay understandings of things like narcissism and self-centredness. It is a pathology which those suffering from it can appropriate to better understand themselves and live better lives.Look at your initial comment in this thread. The point I originally wanted to make was that AA is a very safe environment, and most people there are socially anxious themselves. I dressed it in some irony and bitterness cause, you know, this is the internet.
