Definitely the ultimate mecha for Zero. Shinkiro's OK though.
>>
The Mahorobas fixed the Shinkiro design flaws but they didn't to give proper weapons to them. Nakada has said that the Reishiki doesn't have any of the built-in beam weapons from the Shinkiro so judging by the arm shield generators it probably would have MVS and VARIS since it was made for Suzaku, perhaps someday they will have the handheld weapons designed for a game.

According to Sapphire's home screen dialogue, she went to military academy alongside Guilford, hence their friendship.

So assuming Guilford went alongside Cornelia, I guess Cornelia, Guilford, Nonette, Dorothea and Sapphire are all classmates. At least we know that Cornelia and Dorothea were Nonette's classmates.
>>
>>22602018
Franchise lore is still a blank slate, so much potential.

Dorothea definitely needs a character story chapter like Monica got.

The overwhelming majority of men who don't apologize for liking hot women will never be who you wish they were. At this point, most of the men who actually are like that are using loud opposition to male sexuality to try to take suspicion off of themselves as well as to socialize the blame for their own personal legitimately degenerate behavior.

Is that you, perhaps?

Why are you like this?

Besides the BK, Seven Shining Stars, Neo Britannia and Geass symbols I wonder if the other 4 are personal emblems.
>>
>>22602554
There were two other minor resistance groups mentioned in their leader's profiles, so probably those. Plus the cafe mentioned.
>>
>>22602547
Just ignore Duel. We know he is in these threads, he makes a bait attempt at the next thread every time these threads hit bump limit. We see and recognize him.
We choose to ignore him here.
>>
>>22602598
Sounds like something Duel would say to cover his tracks.
>>
>>22602587
I can see the Dawn and Wolf resistance groups, that leaves the fox and horned whatever left.
>>
>>22602605
Would Roze and Ash's Nameless Mercenaries group have an insignia? That might be the last.
>>
>>22602620
Could be, now moving on the story aspect: Were Roze/Ash trapped in the barrier since the beginning or were they able to enter it somehow?
>>
>>22602629
My working theory is they are related to Norland, maybe his younger brothers or sons. So they would have been with the initial Neo Britannian group but left.
>>
>>22602643
Yeah they're called traitors in the PVs and Sumeragi is probably swearing revenge on Ash.

Was the Zi-Appolo always with Ash?
>>
>>22602652
I could see it being a Neo Britannia prototype originally. Maybe modifications were made after they took it with them when they went rogue.
>>
>>22602683
It's pretty much confirmed it's derived from the Lancelot and its overwhelming performance is something new to the antagonists.

By the way, if Carly is a lesbian obsessed with her own sister, then there is reason to believe that Maya is the "canon" character, since Carly wants her sister's child and it makes more sense in the case of a girl.

>then there is reason to believe that Maya is the "canon" character
Except not because the OP only uses the male, 1st Anniversary Lelouch has the male MC in its art even if you play as the girl and, oh yeah, the official adaptation of it already advertised its using male Disel.

Then of course, theres dialogue in the game itself that is the same on both sides, they're clearly written as a boy, like at the end of the first beach event where Kallen groups them with Lelouch and embarrassingly asks them how much they saw after C.C. cut her top off as a distraction, even though one of the first PDs is her bathing with the council girls, or Rivalz remark about the MC at the start of the event.
Also, what a lot of people who use that logic to say its Maya over Mario are missing out on is her telling the MC not to bring up their father, since Carly says the father's blood devalues Vaniella's. While yes, Carly gives her love to the MC as another extension of Vaniella, there is some clear thematic intention with Mario's resemblance to his father, because revenge is a huge part of their character and its revenge for his father as well as his mother.

The impression that I'm getting is that this is a TV series that they put into theaters as movies because they thought that they'd get more money that way. That's why the releases are so close together.

74 * 4 = 296 minutes
296/13 = 22.8 minutes

Fucking stupid. The hype for a new Code Geass TV series would have been through the roof, and they killed that for what will probably be a pittance. And Disney Plus, who's existence is in limbo? I really hope that we actually get to see this outside of theaters, especially since it's probably going to bomb.

Looks like there is a program relating to the 2nbd Anniversary two days before. Might be a stream

Next week is a raid. And it looks like the baseball collab is different from the Anniversary so we might be looking at a new KMF besides just Marianne's.

The KMF subjugation is probably the Gareth.

cool just 15 days until Marianne's KMF is revealed, the story event is probably about her too.
>>
>>22607753
>the story event is probably about her too.
I don't think it will be, going off of last year. But she might get a character story like Monica and C.C. did.

I'm gonna hold out for the possibility of another game-original until the actual Anniversary.
>>
>>22607756
If the Marianne KMF is based on the possibility of she getting back to her original preserved body during R2 then I'm sure that would make for a very "what if "story chapter.
>>
>>22607795
>very cool "what if "story chapter.
>>
>>22607795
>>22607796
I don't disagree, but I'm just going off of established patterns so far. These poll winners seem to be independent of story events for these milestones. Plus, Monica (And the first half-Anniversary Rakshata) have never been re-ran on banners while the Zero Kagero Lelouch and Kallen from 1st Anniversary have been, so I think Marianne is meant to be separate like them.
>>
>>22607230

That sounds like a good running time. Enough to hopefully do more in the first movie than Akito did

There's now way Rozé will be worse than Akito, even if the explanation for the classic characters not intervening is lame. Rozé actually has a personality and Kaguya isn't a houseplant like Leila was.
>>
>>22607803
I really hope the next poll is a good one. Original KMF is already cool, I don't know how they top it. But I'm fine if they repeat custom/original as a poll.
>>
>>22608238
We don't know how original Marianne's KMF is gonna be, could be another Mewdrad or something completely unique.

Doing more original KMF designs is a must as R2 is ending and we don't know if they're gonna do OZ/O2.

Really interested to see what the program two days before Anniversary is. Really hope its another stream where they talk about what is coming.

No matter how many total chapters left, we only have 8 episodes left of R2. Plus only one Akito chapter left. What comes next is a question worth talking about for them.

If they did a 2.5 original story bridging R2 to Re; it would be great.

Re; manga would be about 8 TV episodes in length, Rozé is around 12. That's all that's left even if they do OZ/O2 because it wouldn't be the main monthly story chapter.

Akito should end in June.

She literally gets like 30 seconds worth the screentime and 3-4 lines total even though she's attractive enough that she's stuck in people's minds for almost 20 years. If that's not a squandered design, I don't know what is.

I guess depending on how you want to frame it, there are some 10/10 designs in pachinko that are squandered by being in the lowest form of media. I want them to make a Cutey Honey series with the pachinko designs. At least Monica appeared in a proper anime.

I had this absurd dream the other day about some sort of Akito tie-in to Roze, where the villains from the new project showed up and the Wyvern squad were getting injured. The strangest thing about this is...it had some very awkward 3D, not only for the mecha but for the cast of characters. Sort of like MS Igloo.

Catherine and Haruka are probably the 2nd tier main cast members after Roze, Ash, Sakuya and Norland. They are the most consistently advertised characters after them.

I know it's not popular to say on here to say, but C.C. and Lelouch have one of my favorite dynamics in mecha ever.
>>
>>22612898
Why isn't it CC liked?
>>
>>22612904
People don't hate her, but they don't care for her either. This is an overwhelmingly Kallen board. She's a hotblooded ace pilot who pays homage to Domon Kasshu. How could /m/ not adore her? C.C. tends to be more cerebral and cool; her scenes are focused on quips and discussions with Lelouch and her action tends towards espionage, which /m/ finds to be pretty boring. Kallen though delivers on the high octane mecha action that /m/ loves. Kallen is also the only one to defend Lelouch during the BK betrayal, and was willing to die with him. She's also the last girl Lelouch sees and the one who he kisses before going off to die. It's flipped on /a/ however, with people not liking Kallen because her hotbloodness leads to a lot of recklessness and conclusion jumping. Both of the girls are extremely loyal to Lelouch by the end though, and badass in their own way. I think C.C. was slightly closer overall though as she felt like Lelouch's partner rather than subordinate, and Lelouch confided basically everything to her.

Wouldn't be shocked honestly. They could either forgot or changed their mind since they didn't speak the name in the movie. Schneizel is still the leader as he was there regardless. Could even just be a goof.

"Principality" is a translation by BahamutX from SB. If you insert a picture into an electronic translator, it will write “Republic”. So who to believe in the end?

>>22613293
Well, yes, here Nunnally calls Britannia a "Principality" and refers to the power of Parliament.

>>22613328
There is a problem. If these “revolutionaries” had carried out, even a bloodless, overthrow of Nannaly from the Throne, then Lelouch would have destroyed them in the most savage way.

“If” the parliamentarians would have succeeded, because Schneizel is a damn genius and would hardly allow a situation to arise in which power would go to some demagogues.

>>22613330
>Was Lunebelg in Russia?
You probably meant to say "Euro-Britannia"? The devil knows. Almost nothing is known about what Russian territories are like in CG. In "Akito" the court life in the capital was slightly illuminated, but this is not an indicator.

In IRL Russia after Peter I the Great there was a fashion for German-style names for new cities, but this did not apply to regions. Again, in CG Russia was in the French sphere of influence and it is more logical to assume that the “new names” would be French.

The problem is that Rose takes place in Hokkaido and the nature of the relationship between Britannia, Euro-Britannia and Neo-Britannia is unclear.
>>
>>22613345
>"Principality" is a translation by BahamutX from SB. If you insert a picture into an electronic translator, it will write “Republic”. So who to believe in the end?
I used translation app and got Republic, balofo is probably right. I just assumed it was still Principality as before and went with the old name

>>
>>22613345
Nope, Bahamut just assumed the terminology from Re; remained. The kanji is different, as is a monarchy from a republic.

We know EB became something independent (as shown in the manga with Farnese meeting with the reformed BKs) so Lunebelg being part of the old EB territory is a valid speculation. They could also be from the America homeland.

>>
>>22613353
And who besides her, fag? The principality presupposes the presence of a prince or princess at the head, even formally, but...

From the point of view of the average British citizen:
- Schneizel smashed Pendragon and fired Freya at the imperial troops at Fuji
- Cornelia almost died during the Black Rebellion and then did something unclear and eventually became a commander of recent and potential enemies, the Black Knights
- Although Karin survived, according to the manga "OZ", she lost her memory and was still that bitch before

This is about the canon ones, since nothing is really known about Callis and his family.

So the “pure and innocent” Princess Nannali, who suffered from physical and mental wounds throughout her life, was able to mourn the Demon Emperor even after he humiliated her and was going to kill her, has an excellent “alibi” for ascending to the Throne as a symbol of a renewed nation .
>>
>>22613438
>And who besides her, fag?
Schneizel. This is specifically stated in this excerpt and in Re;surrection. Nunnally herself says she has no power at the start of Re;surrection.

>But he blew up Pendragon
No, Nunnally did, she had her finger on the button the entire time. It is explicitly stated Nunnally has no power because she used FLEIJA.
Cornelia has a lesser position than she is qualified in the Black Knights because Schneizel already has a high UFN position and some don't want to give the Britannian Imperial family too much power.

This isn't a place where you can pass off fanon as fact. We actually are pretty well informed here on /m/

Biggest question in the writing department for Rozé is a good explanation for the old cast not intervening.

If Charles' actual 1st daughter fled to Japan to marry royalty there, it could easily be hand-waved. They probably want Sakuradite too and in the extended trailer there was a shot of a mountain.

Man, the original is an anime, and it clearly and clearly says:
>Suzaku: Nunnally… do you understand what Schneizel has done?
>Nunnally: Yes. He attacked capital Pendragon with a F.L.E.I.J.A. warhead.

And her request voiced after the destruction of the Britannian capital:
>Nunnally: But now… we'll have to use the weapons on people, on Lelouch and his followers.
>Schneizel: If they stand in the way of world peace, we'll have no choice.
>Nunnally: Schneizel, please. Will you let me have the F.L.E.I.J.A. firing switch to hold on to? I can't fight battles or defend my country or my people, so at the very least I want this sin to be on my shoulders.

In short, your lousy retcon from a shitty manga goes to hell.
>>
>>22613638
You do realize the point of those scenes you are citing was to make it seem like Nunnally was a pawn of Schneizal and not the reality that she was really Lelouch's "Final Boss" right? At face value, shes someone who has gotten caught up in Schneizel's plot, a tool to be used against Lelouch. The reality is, she is Lelouch's final trial, is far more aware of whats going on and has even reached a similar plan to Lelouch's in making Damocles the symbol of hatred to rally people against.
>>
I find this talk of retcons and thinking you can always trust the people of the original show to give you all the correct information funny giving the script for Stage 26 way back had them retconning Inoue's death to have been caused by the Emperor and his ship and that the Emperor was going to have arrived in Area 11 before C.C. and the Gawain took out the Siegfried.

Hey balofo, I have a question, maybe you can help. Its something I've been thinking about lately.

Theres a list of all of Britannia's Areas that has been around for ages. I'm trying to track down its source. I want to actually check out its context. Its something everyone has taken for a given forever but new stuff doesn't lime up with it.

Is it from an LN? If so, which one. If not, is it a case of a misconception like the 50 years thing? Did someone else make it up and everyone else ran with it? Its something I really want to dig into.
>>
>>22613713
Must be from a novel, but nothing from the novels should even be mixed with anime stuff like that old Knight of Two that's still on the KoR page.

The old novels and the old manga are just trash that must be forgotten.
>>
>>22613723
Thats the thing, if its from that old KoR novel, it needs to be thrown out because that novel is consistently ignored by all subsequent Geass stuff, so it was clearly never intended to be seen as canon. At least with the "main" LNs, they have some actual info provided that did get referenced (Clovis's mother and her condition in the Libra event for example), so those might at least be semi-canon

I've been thinking about it lately, theres a ton of fanon that people have taken for granted or repeated with nothing contradicting it for years to prove it wrong. People still think Nunnally was Empress at the end and Schneizel as the leader is a retcon, but none of the post-series stuff from back then or databooks I've check actually refer to her as such. But people hold onto it because it just sounds better to them.
So I just want to see how many things that people take as given all these years might not actually have as much basis as we think. Because I like information being correct more.
>>
This might be a crazy fucking opinion to have but I like Code Geass (why I'm in this fucking thread) and want all of it's projects to succeed and be good. Was Akito perfect? No. Do I like what it did with characters like Lelouch and Suzaku? Not really. Was it entertaining? I suppose. The Knightmares and character designs were cool and the animation and aesthetics were on point. I hope Roze does well and brings at least some good with it.
>>
>>22613744
"Canon" in Geass is complicated, I just take LS as the ultimate canon even if it's not animated.

Some L&G chapters can't even happen in the Re; timeline. Some OZ chapters of the same story are completely different in novel and manga.

At least LS consistently is filling the gaps and developing the lore.

So, you either only take the animated stuff plus OZ/O2 and L&G and mention the disparities or wait until LS has done R2/Re;/Rozé to have some sort of ultimate up to date "canon".
>>
>>22613756
Akito needed a full 26 ep run to develop everything the director wanted. Giant cast, significant retcons, new Geass lore, etc.

Akito and Leila are boring while Shin is a mary sue. That was another problem.

The KMF action will always be cool, though.

>>22613760
Gundam canon can be pretty inconsistent too, but thats what happens with long running franchises with countless cooks in the kitchen, and especially when everyone wants to cram as much as possible into one point in time (The OYW)
Even game adaptations of many works (Gundam and otherwise) can change events in minor ways for flow.

I think there is a baseline that there is a "core" to things, that even with minor contradictions, there are still certain intentions. Lost Colors for example can't be completely canon, but its not non-canon. Events can unfold differently among a couple iterations but there is still a unifying world between them all. Oz is a good example since the same events unfold differently a few times between Oldrin and Orpheus Sides. Usually lore tends to be consistent no matter how things unfold.

I'd say the "core" of what could be called Code Geass's canon is Lelouch, Akito, Oz, Renya, Re;surrection, Genesic Re;Code, Lost Colors and Lost Stories, and soon to be Roze.
>>
>>22613777
R2: bad sequel with great moments/eps
Renya: prequel manga with no KMF, irrelevant like all the Genesic prequel stories
O2: novel was cut short by 6 chapters, manga story was never good. Manga/Novel integration was nonexistant.
Re;: pure fanservice movie(limited runtime) that tries to make up for the shitty directing/writing from R2
>>
>>22613790
LC is completely irrelevant even to LS. If it happened it was completely different and is basically relevant only to Nonnette's lore. Same thing applies to Libra.

LS is its own timeline, the thing is we should consider all the stuff it added/retconned/improved as the definitive version of all the original stories in a meta sense.
>>
>>22613802
Even if its just for Nonette's lore, its still something and Rai remains popular with long-time fans in Japan. Its personally not my cup of tea, and I think people really overrate its ability to change things since the game ends every time a real change happens. But I know it did include info referenced later like Suzaku's sim scores being all S on his first try and making it clear Lloyd always wanted him as the Lancelot pilot (Shooting down popular fanon in the non-Japanese speaking communities that he wanted Jeremiah because they misinterpreted a scene in ep 1) and some others. Plus it had Rolo in before R2 aired.
Forgot about Libra, but so does everyone.

I personally really like Lost Stories and would love if it was animated. But I'm biased because I want Mario to become a real part of the main cast moving forward.
Regardless, Lost Stories is definitely being used for world building, even if its not in the way some fans want.

If Nunnally had shot Freya from the very beginning, then she would not have needed to say that it was Schneizel who hit Pendragon and there would have been no need to ask Freya to give her the control panel after the “negotiations” with Lelouch.

You need to consume less copium, man.

>>22613744
>People still think Nunnally was Empress at the end and Schneizel as the leader is a retcon
As far as I understand, the speculation about Nunnally arose from the ending of the series, in which she visits Japan as part of the Britannian delegation and is greeted by Prime Minister Ogi, with whom the Princess has nothing personal.

You can ignore "The Miraculous Birthday" and the World Ruler Loli meeting photo, but Margaret Walpole from there later appears in the Resurrection animation. And she is the President of the EU and is actively in contact with Nunnally, which would be impossible if the Princess were no one in the Britannia hierarchy.

It is unclear how Nunnally and Schneizel's unspecified status in Cova-era Britannian fits in with their positions in the UFN and the charitable foundation, since almost nothing is known about these structures at that time.

>>22613760
>"Canon" in Geass is complicated
So it seems like we are talking about “parallel universes” since the original CG and “Resurrection” are not officially indicated as “different time lines”. Thus, any discrepancies can be attributed to action in another universe, where events went a little differently. That's all and no need to rack your brain.

Its like you forget we just came off a mini-arc about the world needing lies and think every character always tells the truth right away. Theres no need to say a number of things a certain way in this series and they are still said that way regardless.

The "need" you're talking about is that Lelouch is not supposed to have any idea Nunnally is doing it until Episode 25 when they are face to face because its more dramatic that way.
Sometimes things are not meant to be looked at in isolation but as pieces of a greater whole. Case in point, the series right there is focusing the viewer's attention on Lelouch overcoming Schneizel. However, Lelouch's very last hurdle is not Schneizel but Nunnally and even going into that final confrontation, he had still been not wanting to use his Geass on her. That confrontation is the culmination of Lelouch's whole journey, not Schneizel. But we as the viewer are not meant to realize that in the scene you are talking about, we are supposed to focus on Schneizel.

The Britannian heritage is not felt in the new mecha, moreover, their designs are pointlessly complex and overloaded with unnecessary decorative elements. Which is somewhat strange for a faction claiming succession with Pendragon. In the end, even the Knights of the Round had more functional KMFs despite personal customization and uniqueness.
>>
>>22614885
No, its because its being written by people who are making something for entertainment. There is no hidden meaning, its just writers wanting "twists" for entertainment. Its not a matter of what the audience is meant to "understand" just grasping that these are scenes being written to lead audiences on.

Code Geass is entertainment first, and as entertainment its going to lead on audiences, do twists, and not always going to be logically consistent with its characters.

Lelouch losing control of his Geass is foreshadowed, but why does he lose control of it exactly when he does and saying what he is? Why does Charles laugh maniacally at Lelouch's actions at the SAZ despite not being consistent with his character's writing beyond that point? How does V.V. literally teleport on/off the flying Avalon and to tell Suzaku about Geass and never display such abilities again? You guessed it, because the writers needed these to happen that way, wanted to lead the audience to come to conclusions about characters, and to advance the plot.
I can go on with examples like these.

I love Code Geass, but you have to accept its not always going to go about things in a logically straightforward way. Understanding that writers are trying to mislead or make audiences come to certain conclusions and then take it somewhere else is not "pseudo-intellectual" its just acknowledging certain styles of writing.
>>
>>22614908
>Lelouch losing control of his Geass is foreshadowed, but why does he lose control of it exactly when he does and saying what he is?
At that point you're asking why do coincidences happen in fiction, period, all the way from Shakespeare to the present day. "Logic" has never been omnipresent in that field.
>>
>>22614938
Those questions were rhetorical. They're to demonstrate the twisty nature that is always present, and in a variety of ways, from events happening when they do, character behavior, and things happening because they need to.
If you can't factor in that writing style, you are missing the picture.
>>
>>22614908
>Understanding that writers are trying to mislead or make audiences come to certain conclusions and then take it somewhere else is not "pseudo-intellectual" its just acknowledging certain styles of writing.

Do you know what I realized? You're some kind of freak. Go jerk off to your “understanding” somewhere in a parallel CG universe from another shitty gacha or useless manga.

In the anime - the damn source of all this - Nunnally didn't destroy Pendragon. That's it - no conspiracy or hidden meaning or veiled message for the audience. What the audience knows about Nunnally and Button doesn’t matter at all in this case, because the residents of HBE and UFN most likely don’t even know about it.

Moreover, for ordinary CG people, it is Schneizel who is associated with Freya, since it was he who oversaw the development of WMD. He commanded the defense of Tokyo and "gave the order" to Knight 7 to use a new type of warhead. It was he who raised Damocles into the sky and blew up Pendragon. He was the commander at the Battle of Fuji and he opened fire on the remnants of the troops with Freya.

Aroundight exists because Mario needed an upgrade. Pretty standard mecha stuff to make new things. Look at Moon Gundam being a Proto-Sazabi that wasn't needed but exists anyway.

Lancelot Club is also in this weird bubble where it exists in-series but also in a disconnected manner from the rest. Its a nod to Rai which is why Nonette uses it but its also not explained. The role of bridge machine from Lancelot > Vincent was given to the Lancelot Grail.
They'll likely never give the Club to anyone other than Rai or Nonette, just because its a Lost Colors thing.

Sutherland Club doesn't matter. Its a machine that only exists as concept art, not making it into the final product to begin with.

And you'd be wrong. It very much is just as associated with Nunnally as much as Schneizel in-universe even back then.
One of the old R2 databooks, ask balofo or bahamut to dig it up they're the ones who save all these things, has a section thats written as an entry of a present day historian writing about the events of the TV series in the wake of everything. (My favorite bit is that a popular in-universe conspiracy theory is that Zero is really Prince Clovis who faked his death) Nunnally is attributed to firing FLEIJA in the public records of the battle with Emperor Lelouch. Nunnally's public associations with FLEIJA are not new to Re;surrection, it was the intended outcome of them writing a scene where she says she wants the sin of using it on her shoulders.

This is what you claim, and it is up to you to provide evidence.

Rumors about Clovis being Zero, if I remember correctly, were mentioned back in R1. Everything else about Nunnally, so far, looks like your personal nonsense that contradicts the anime series.

If Freya were to be associated with Lelouch's younger sister, then it would be a colossal risk for her, on top of the fact that she is a relative of the Demon Emperor and Prince "Mass Murderer" Schneizel. If La Perouge Sr. had at least a piece of his “brilliant” brain left for the Requiem, then he definitely would not have allowed this to happen.
>>
>>22615106
>then it would be a colossal risk for her
Yes, that is what it means for her to say she wants those sins on her shoulders.

>then he definitely would not have allowed this to happen
You know that thought Lelouch had right before he Geass'd her? It was him finally accepting Nunnally's own will and independence, that he can't protect her. She made her choice to create a symbol of hatred of her own, just as he had. All he could do at that point was respect the choices she would make on her own, no matter the outcome.

The source would have indicated something. Anyway.

Interesting reading, but there are a couple of nuances:
1) it’s written as if taking hostages from the UFN was Lelouch’s reaction to Schneizel’s destruction of Pendragon, but the Demon Emperor is called the bad guy
2) for some reason, Lelouch’s use of “hypnosis” is presented as a well-known fact, although in the anime the top of the Black Knights classified information about Geass so that they would not be considered crazy
3) Schneizel is described as the commander of the UFN forces and user of Freya in the battle, and Nunnally is mentioned as being considered a war criminal along with Schneizel after the Demon Emperor's victory
4) and no one “nowadays” believes at all in the statements of Schneizel and Nunnally about the “sin of using Freya” and even attribute to Lelouch the destruction of his own capital to create a casus belli
5) they even remembered a funny pseudo-historical theory, according to which Genghis Khan was a Japanese who fled to the continent from defeat in the Taira-Minamoto war on the occasion of the Clovis=Zero theory

In short, this “historian” not only does not confirm that Nunnally blew up Pendragon and shot Freya, but even doubts that Schneizel used WMD on the HBE capital, because Lelouch is the “Villain” and could have set everything up. And the statements of this crowned couple that they allegedly “sinned with Freya” are stated as unreliable due to the information policy of the Demon Emperor to discredit his opponents after the victory at Fuji and information about the influence of “hypnosis”.

Basically, you wasted my time, dude.

It has been shown in every trailer so far, he steals them from the R/Levyletaine and kills Gran.

So I traced back through the logs and found the list of Areas was first uploaded on August 3rd in 2009. The user who did it hasn't been active since 2012, but he seems to have been a former admin on the wiki and not just a random adder.

Skimming through, it doesn't seem like they just made up info, so they probably got it from elsewhere. And good luck finding such things from back then these days.
So unless they randomly come back, they're probably a dead end.

I don't think its from the main LNs, the people I've talked to who read them don't recall such a list.

The KoR novel is looking like the last thing that needs to be checked, but find that will probably not be easy. That seems to be one of those things that everyone knows something from but so few people have actually read. Almost no proper translations of it exist, only a single chapter for Gino's that was linked by mononoke on their page.

If it is indeed the KoR one, I'll probably remove it. But I just want to find the source before I update it.

I just want to know where it came from at this point. Ever since I realized the Urabe Custom Gekka page was just made up information and there for years, I'm second guessing a lot of stuff. I didn't think twice about it before but that realization made me question a lot of the older things I've taken for granted until this point.

I don't care if its retconned or not, its honestly inconsequential details, I just want to know it wasn't just made up. I don't really like the idea that there could have been so much fake info passed around all this time.

But she also looks like she could be a mass slaughterer who's just nice to someone at home. She's definitely an arrogant aristocrat. So I'm not giving 80% odds or anything.
>>
So ignoring that list for now, I've combed through stuff to get actual mentions of Areas and this is what I have so far.

-Area 2: South Africa, Johannesburg Settlement being the primary point shown in Chapter 1 of the Lost Zero arc of Lost Stories. This seems to line up with old too info that mentions Charles sent the Knights of the Round to Africa as a distraction right before the Area 11 invasion, and its mentioned again in a flashback during the R2 portion from Mario getting a memory of events leading up to the invasion as being sent there for a fight with the EU. So this seems to line up with an extrapolation of the old info.

-Area 10: The old list actually gives some source for this one, and mentions that Area 10 was mentioned in the Stage 0 LN, So I'll need to confirm this one.

-Area 11: Japan

-Area 13, Area 14 and Area 15: Mentioned in the Stage 0.884 "The Imperial audio drama, but no locations given. Cornelia put down an uprising in Area 14, and Area 13 and Area 15 are mentioned when Cornelia suggests "Emile" or "Oscar" as possible Viceroys for Area 11, and them having been sent there. (Emile and Oscar are probably Imperial family members we never saw.)

-Area 18: No specifics given, but it was the Middle Eastern Federation's defeat in the series that signaled its establishment

-Area 20: Mentioned in Fragments of the Mosaic and in Lost Stories chapter 4 of Lost Zero. No country specified though

-Area 23: Portugal according to Lost Stories

-Area 24: Spain, from Oz the Reflection where Marrybell is made Viceroy

Anyone, balofo or otherwise, have any I missed?

>>
>>22617727
An update on this, from one of the first in the old series LNs I got from digging and asking people, it does mention an Area 1 where the Honorary Britannian system started. Even without the location, this would mean that homeland Britannia can't be Area 1, since there wouldn't be a need for Honorary Britannians there, and every source says Britannian conquest began under Charles.

Even with discrepancies, the series LNs aren't perfect with contradictions, but they probably did have information provided that gets referenced by later things, so they would be a... lets say this is a tiering system, even below the TV series they are still above the Knights of the Round one on such a concept, which is ignored completely and contradicted by all subsequent materials.

>>
>>22620170
In general, there is no point in the translation, because nothing fundamentally new is said there, just a brief description of previously known information.

There are indeed some inconsistencies such as the replacement of the Britannian Principality with the Republic (ugh) and incomprehensible moments such as Luneburg as the basis of Neo-Britannia (is this a splinter or a reconquered territory and what does Euro-Britannia have to do with it?) - but there are no explanations for this.
>>
>>22620191
>There are indeed some inconsistencies such as the replacement of the Britannian Principality with the Republic
Its not inconsistent, the Principality was one of the split offs of Britannian territory and the Republic is basically many of the smaller split countries forming together, including the Principality.

Thats what it sounds like since Re;surrection mentions Britannia being broken up and the Republic mentions coming back together after a period of time.

-Divider has the twin Excaliburs so new skill. Pilot suit Gino hasn't been done yet
-Lancelot Color Vincent could happen we just don't know if they're adapting the Rebellion Re; manga. Royal Guard will probably be the raid KMF during the Ragnarok chapter
-Conquista with FLEIJA could happen since we're only getting the SEITEN for sure and the story chapter banners always come in two (someone confirm this) or we get Liliana
-Florence Air Cavalry(or whatever is its name) could come with pilot suit Monica
-Pilot suit Bismarck, Anya, Dorothea could happen
-Tamaki with MP Akatsuki or just the KMF in a raid

The way that they've handled this is so dumb. Code Geass has been a zombie franchise of kinda unpopular movies for almost 20 years. What did they think they were going to change with another movies series?
>Well, the financial guy said it'd make more money!
Does the financial guy know anything about Code Geass or its fandom?
>Being an uncultured suit who doesn't know anything about the medium or the customers allows you to be objective!
No, it just means that you lack the knowledge to understand that a Ghibli movie making bank has very little to do with Code Geass even if they're both anime. The modern approach to business of having some clueless suit look at charts is the same as sticking someone who can't read Chinese in front of a wall of Chinese text. That's the root cause behind why everything is collapsing, not just entertainment.

>I also saw japs saying they didn't need to leave their house since it will come to streaming in less than 2 months.
Yeah, the streaming deal really disincentivises actually going to the theater, only the ticket bonuses really the only thing and they don't seem the type to drive most

TV series is still what is needed

>>
>>22620480
Well, there's two easy explanations for that. One, it's the countryside. Two, Geass isn't exactly known for being most successful in theatres. That said, if there is good word of mouth, that could change.
>>
>>22620551
I imagine they don't expect to make most of their money on theaters. That's never been the Code Geass way. Disc sales and character merch are bigger. Having said that, Disney+ should at least increase availability both inside Japan and worldwide, for those who can wait a bit.

>Situmpe wall
>An energy barrier formed by energy waves emitted from the towers that line the coastal area of Hokkaido Block.
>This energy wave suppresses the activation of Sakuradite, making conventional weapons unable to exert their original output and completely stopping when they touch the barrier. With the advancement of technologies such as Blaze Luminous and Absolute Protection Realm, it was put into practical use after 2017 of the imperial era, but as the world became peaceful, it lost its necessity.
>It remained inactive.
>However, during the invasion of Hokkaido Block, it was activated by Neo Britannia and became a major hindrance to the Black Knights' recapture operation.

In short, this is a technology for killing sakuradite engines/batteries that is worse and larger than Gefjon from Rakshata. Moreover, it is not a “new” technology, since it is the same age as energy shields from the canon (which is strange, since Lloyd is not aware of it at all and is upset by Chawla’s achievements in the field of “interference”).

It is not clear why this system is deployed exclusively in Hokkaido?
>>
>>22621219
Ah, so the reason things are going a bit lower tech than expected is because the barrier also has similar properties to the Gefjun Disturber in suppressing sakuradite stuff. No wonder nothing seems to be using blaze luminous or flight.

Also, where is that faggot who kept crying "The barrier is magic!" with no proof? I want to laugh at you for being retarded.

Hmmmm, no definite date for when it was completed. If it's pure technology how can't Rakshata, Cecile and LLoyd counter it since they invented the tech that is the basis for this barrier?
>>
>>22621239
It seems this technology's effect may start out as more subtle than the Gefjun Disturbers, because the field reduces performance output long before actually stopping those machines that get too close. You could say it's more mischievous in that way. The principle is certainly similar, naturally, but the scientific/pseudo-scientific process to get there might be different in practice. Also, Lloyd and Rakshata had worked together so they had a reasonable idea of what their individual handiwork would look like and how to eventually counter it. If someone else comes up with another piece of technology, it might take a bit longer for them to create countermeasures without being able to examine the tech directly.

Movie runtime for mecha is always bad. Re; could very well have been a proper 1 cour anime series with a proper plot. Guess Taniguchi just wanted to get over it.
>>
>>22622815
Yeah, Taniguchi himself doesn't want to be type-cast as the Code Geass guy. I can respect that in a sense.
>>
>>22622806
The whole point of Re;surrection was for them to have an AU in which they can used Lelouch for future Code Geass projects. It's the definition of a fan-service movie for people who want more Code Geass with Lelouch in it, without ever touching the Original OG canon so people don't start complaining about the fact they ruined the original ending. I guess they wanted to move forward in regards to the Code Geass timeline with the least risks as possible since Lelouch in the OG canon is dead.
>>
>>22622678
It's apparently in a flashback, which makes sense.

It seems Sakuya is also Britannian royalty. And she's related to Kaguya too.

Not quite. Shirley's death was not possible to do convincingly because they cut the Mao episodes during the recaps.

Watched Rose

I was expecting an inconsequential side story like Akito where I'd go "eh the robots were cool I guess"

I did not expect it to be straight up Code Geass

I'd say it was more Geass than Resurrection

It's a real goddamn pity this isn't a weekly broadcast because every episode ends on a big Geass twist

First episode

Neo Britannia took over Hokkaido which has a big super force field barrier that was meant to keep invaders out, but traitors let them in and it's now being used to keep the Black Knights and anyone else who would try to fight them out, and the Britannians are doing their usually over the top racist shit lining up elevens to be shot for fun and whatever

Rose and Ash are known as the "nameless mercenaries", two mysterious Britannian brothers who help out the resistance movements in Hokkaido and they're hired to go take out two of the Einberg, high ranking Neo Britannian knights supposedly under the emperor

They attack them, one of the Einberg has his own KMF and a bunch of cronies and the other sits in his mansion giving orders. Ash fights the KMFs while Rose just walks into the mansion

Ash has a special KMF (nothing about it revealed in the first three episodes) that has a destroy mode gimmick and he's also a really good pilot and has no problems taking out all the KMFs

Rose confronts the other guy and reveals that he's actually Sakuya, the big titty Japanese princess who is also half-Britannian and also next in line to the Neo Britannian throne. Neo Britannia think they have Sakuya captured but that's actually her childhood friend Sakura that she wants to save. She has a geass and uses it on the guy telling him that he can choose either to save ten thousand times as many Japanese as he's killed, or kill himself (he kills himself duh)

It's revealed that the girl who hired the two was testing them and they're introduced to a resistance group that plans to attack Abishiri prison to get their leader out
>>
>>22623478
They explained where the previously never mentioned branch of the Sumeragi family came from in Japan over the course of five years, and when did a piece of Japan (or all of it?) manage to revive the monarchy?

And where did the neo-Britannians invade Hokkaido from?

Whelp off to a good start
>>
>>22623489
Second episode

Rose and Ash take the job but don't tell the resistance group that they're also trying to rescue Sakura/"Sakuya" who's also being held in the prison

The prison is heavily fortified but they get Ash's knightmare in by launching it on a rocket, Rose hitches a ride in it and disables the defense systems letting the resistance get in and break out their people

Rose manages to rescue Sakura but she's immediately kidnapped again by another Einberg, s/he then goes to bust out the resistance leader who used to serve her father revealing her secret identity to him

Ash fights another Einberg (not the one who re-kidnapped Sakura) who recognizes his fighting style of aiming for weak spots on KMFs, it seems like Ash used to be some kind of Britannian super assassin. Ash kills him.

The resistance celebrates but Rose/Sakuya has a flashback showing that she brainwashed Ash with her geass, and also that she wants revenge on him because he killed her father
>>
>>22623500
Forgot to mention that the second episode basically shows that Sakuya's geass is activated by sound, which is why she has to deactivate her voice changer (the choker) to use it.

Third episode

The Einberg start taking shit seriously and wipe out a bunch of different resistance factions, except for the one Rose and Ash are with which fails with their forces being led into a trap. The Einberg have a meeting where the guy who led that group is having a panic/asthma attack the whole time and their leader, Noland (the mask guy) tells him to begone and he goes and kills himself.

Sakuya and Ash take some time off. Sakuya lies around in her underwear showing that she binds her (very big) chest, Ash looks after their pets.

Turns out that Sakuya has secret connections with Neo Britannia's Natalia who handles government stuff but is secretly loyal to her. Natalia made an area where Japanese are free and runs a cafe there where Sakuya stays when she isn't with Ash.

Stupid shit happens where Ash goes to buy pet food and he somehow ends up in the cafe (he's geass brainfucked and doesn't know that Rose is actually Sakuya or even a girl) and falls in love with Sakuya who for stupid reasons is a waitress for the day in a maid outfit.

Natalia also looks after the Neo Britannian emperor who's a little boy who's just a pawn for Noland and tells her that he's very scared of him. And then a robot mosquito then assassinates him with poison later when he's on his throne.

Rose and Ash go back to the resistance which now has new KMFs from the Black Knights including a flying one for Rose.

The episode ends with Ash telling Rose that he's in love and then suddenly the news comes on saying that the Britannian emperor has died and has been replaced with Sakuya (actually Sakura).

Oh also Neo Britannia somehow got their hands on Damocles which is just sitting around now.
>>
>>22623510
Forgot to mention that it's shown in a flashback that L.L. gave Sakuya her geass and did the whole "this power will lead to your solitude" speech and she wonders if this was what he meant when she sees that Sakura is now the empress of Neo Britannia.

Preview of the next three episodes shows that Neo Britannia wants to use Damocles to nuke a ghetto, Cornelia shows up in a new KMF, and Nina is there too.
>>

Forgot to mention that the first two Einsberg they kill are the traitors who let Neo Britannia in in the first place

The voice changer also changers her eye colour somehow (it's pointed out in dialogue too)

People who know her secret identity are the resistance leader, Sakura, Natalia, and the people running Natalia's cafe (the manager and a maid)

Sakura and the resistance leader find out when she reveals it to them in episode 2, the others already knew

Ash does not know

The Keisetsu, Sekka and Artemis are the ones supplied by the Black Knights at the end of episode 3.

No explanation where Apollo comes from but since Artemis is from them I guess we can assume that Apollo is too

No pilots listed for the Keisetsu and Sekka in the pamphlet, there's talk about giving it to the resistance's ace pilot but they don't know who their ace pilot is. Seems implied it's going to Haruka.

Also Haruka gets a Guren style cockpit butt shot in episode 2.
>>
>>22623555
Spoilers say that at the very beginning of the first episode they showed Britannians degenerates who killed Japanese for fun... And suddenly their kind must submit to a half-Japanese woman?

Something doesn't add up here...
>>
>>22623562
Depends on what you mean by "not aligning" since it's not like most of these factions have been depicted before (Hokkaido, Neo Britannia), so they have an empty space to fill in and about 5 years of time to use for any implied events required.
>>
>>22623571
>And suddenly their kind must submit to a half-Japanese woman?

I assume most of the people doing the killing aren't aware of that, plus there's surely a twist for why Noland wants to use her in that way.
>>
Britannia split up into a bunch of smaller countries

One of those countries was the Duchy of Britannia which was formed by an alliance of nobles but their country didn't go well because of the democratic reforms Lelouch pushed as emperor

Schneizel took over the duchy of Zeo I mean Britannia and turned it into the Republic of Britannia but Noland's domain refused to join and declared war on them

The super united states went after Noland's domain which immediately surrendered because it was a ruse to draw them away from Japan and he went and conquered Hokkaido with the aid of Britannian remnants and anti-super united states forces

Noland's old domain was taken by the Republic of Britannia so Hokkaido is all Neo Britannia has

Yeah because they made up for this instance at least with Neo Zeon it makes sense that there would be remnants of Axis but by the end CG the bulk of the royal family are dead and powerless so unless Nunners was sleeping in the wheel how the fuck did this happen?
>>
>>22623580
This might be all said explicitly so far, yet there's definitely something in Hokkaido that Noland wants if he's willing to go to those lengths.

>>
>>22623588
Nunnaly has nothing to do with anything in the government, they already said she has no official power in Res
>>
>>22623588
Not all Britannians would accept Emperor Lelouch (or Schenizel, for that matter), so the remnant angle is similar here. Sounds like Noland said "fuck no" and went over to Hokkaido to get something, probably Geass-related, that he thinks will work for his plans.

Also episode 2 ends with her vowing vengeance but episode 3 has her thinking that he doesn't really seem like a bad guy

So these people who mald over Lelouch rule waited 7 years after the fact to form a legion long after he died despite the fact that Cornelia was going to rebel a few months after the fight in Damocles?

Lelouch only ruled for a few months and it sounds like all this Britannian internal politics shit happened off-screen before or after Resurrection, so it's possible.
>>
>>22623637
I don't watch Geass (or Gundam) for a lesson in geopolitics, so this is pedantry
>>
>>22623634
>So these people who mald over Lelouch rule waited 7 years
No they waited three, you retarded. Neo Britannian kicked off the year after Res. They've occupied Hokkaido for 4 years already.
You are so invested in this being bad and hating on this that you don't even pay attention to basic information.

>despite the fact that Cornelia was going to rebel a few months after the fight in Damocles?
The basic plot posted here pretty much implies these people wouldn't support the current Britannian order either
>>
>>22623644
>Neo Britannian kicked off the year after Res
That makes it even worse because there was next to no mention of them and they managed to kick off an empire immediately after all under everyone's noses

>>22623644
>You are so invested in this being bad and hating on this that you don't even pay attention to basic information.
Except that wasn't what I said dumbass

>pretty much implies these people wouldn't support the current Britannian order either
Again why? The problem here nothing about their actions align with the lore they're just antagonistic to be antagonistic
>>
>>22623647
I wouldn't call ruling over Hokkaido kicking off an Empire, at least not meaningfully.
>>
>>22623647
>kick off an empire
Retard, they call themselves an Empire because their goal is to restore the pre-Lelouch Holy Britannian Eppire but they only occupy one island of Japan

>Except that wasn't what I said dumbass
No, you just are complaing and making yourself look retarded because you don't even have your basic information straight

>Again why? The problem here nothing about their actions align with the lore they're just antagonistic to be antagonistic
Because current Britannia under Schneizel is aligned with the UFN and not like it was under Charles? This is not a majority of Britannia seeing as Cornelia is shown and still with Black Knights. These are basically people who want to go back to that old Britannia, being used by Norland

Japanese are incredibly polite.

If someone wants you to fuck off he won't just say "fuck off"
He will say something along the lines "Well, that was interesting let us continue this another time" - before deleting your number and never talking with you again.
In case of anime it's even worse cause some of those creators are considered holy people by the community. Just look at the wank that Tomino is getting from Gundamfags. Even when Tomino himself is shitting on his own works they will go "Oh master, you are so humble we do not deserve your craft"

Yeah make it like Akito where they play the OP once at the beginning and the ED once at the end instead of playing both for each episode, that literally has nothing to do with the quality of the show you ESL retard
>>
>>22623791
>and it's implied that everything else was bad
There's none of that anywhere. You're coping
>>
>>22623795
>Shit pacing please make it more like Akito
>REEEEEEEEEEEEE

Calm down rager
>>
Yeah they played the OP and ED three times before/after each of the episodes and they're not even very good (OP is wireframe CG robots just doing animations from the show, ED is some kind of random glowing gem that has flapping angel wings, that's it) so it was kind of jarring.

The show's clearly cut for TV by the way, midway through each episode there's a very obvious cut to commercial point. Making it all the more bizarre that it's getting this and then Disney Plus first with no word of a TV broadcast at all.
>>
>>22623793
This person is only complaining about seeing the OP/ED three times, which is fair but a very small issue. Akito never had any OP, btw, which I found disappointing. Only ED.
>>
>>22623803
Presumably they initially made it for TV, but couldn't get the TV channel slots they wanted and so switched plans for streaming plus theaters. Not a big deal for me either way.
>>
>>22623803
post more of the booklet, we won't watch it for a long time so pictures will be good
>>
>>22623808
I'm kind of disappointed by this because I feel half the fun of Geass was watching the "what the FUCK was that?" reaction every week and this feels like it's made for that but we're not getting it because of the way it's being released

I can't help but think of how Tiger & Bunny 2 was killed by its shitty release format. This isn't as bad because it's still coming out bit by bit, but it would've been something really special to see weekly.

>>22623811
Didn't see much more worth posting, the website has all the robots and the episode screencaps are tiny so you'd be better off looking at the trailers.
>>
>>22623793
>>22623797
If you actually hated the movie, wouldn't you be thankful to have that little intermission?

Also, I've seen Japanese be harsh. They're just more passive aggressive most of the time. Not always, though. I've seen be blunt and throw outright bitchfits. We'd know it if they didn't like it.
>>
>>22623818
Bro, please post the 3 KMF pages in overview since they have specs that we don't know when they will publish again. Akito KMF specs took years to be published.
>>
>>22623818
Yeah, I wish this was a proper TV series too. It seems like its clearly the aim to be a TV series, just getting a weird release format.

But dropping it in parts is better. It gives it a better chance to be in the public consciousness longer than a one and done. Still, a TV series is what Code Geass needs to recapture that spark for most people.

Nothing except half her tits perpetually hanging out all the time because of the dumb pilot suit

She's one of the two queens who are both being made out to be super ace pilots so she probably won't be a start of episode no fight kill like Heath, also she's appointed to be "Sakuya"/Sakura's personal bodyguard but says that she hates her and is only doing it because Norland told her to
