>>22597337With paints you usually pay for what you get, quality wise. White is also one of the colours that needs the most layers to get a saturated colour. If you want an even & smooth surface but don't have access to an airbrush setup and/or don't want to spray with rattlecans you can invest in some disposable makeup sponges. You can then dab the paint on with that. If you're familiar with dry brushing it's a similar concept. Very easy to do and it doesn't matter if the paint is thick, you just wipe off most of it from the sponge and can still get a smooth coat.Also I don't know if you're primed or not but if you're using water based acrylics you should always use a primer-type paint first. If you have no primer then make sure you sand the surface a bit so your paint has something grip. Priming in the right base colour will make it much easier to get a saturated colour.
