They don't want to run into a situation again where they run out of manga material to put into an anime. The manga releases 2 chapters a month. It is in its final battle arc, so it should be completed in 1 to 3 years at most.

We saw what a single one did when Daryl was the pilot. It solo'd an entire fleet. Yet when the monks actually DO get a fleet of 100 psycho Zakus, they get turned into cannon fodder by the Federation Fleet. Doesn't make sense really.
