Someone I know is gay, and has identified with it for years. Recently however, he told me he isn't part of the LGBT community and doesn't want to be seen as part of it, but still made it very clear he identifies as gay. I support him, I don't think it's any of my business to say how he can identify, I'm just curious as to what some of you guys think about this.

I'm gay but not a part of LGBT community, because I'm a shut-in that's not a part of any "community".
