Massive SEAD campaign in Belarus. Hundreds of Leo 1s roll up the M19 to take the western side of the country (namely Brest and Kobryn), meeting minimal resistance and in many areas support from the local forces and population. Simultaneous push from Chernihiv to Gomel with secretly supplied Challenger 3 battalion, Minsk under siege within 48 hours, Lukashenko flees to Moscow within 72, complete capitulation of Belarus on May 9th.

Literally nothing because advertising them so hard ensures the Russians will be on high alert with AD ready to go — which Ukraine will be fully aware of thanks to US ELINT and so the F-16s will stay far away. The reason why they’re being promoted to begin with is for political reasons; if they were coming jacked up on EWAR pods and SEAD training they wouldn’t be advertising them. The fact is Ukraine is stuck in this difficult situation of being reliant on Western military aid and the West being democracies have to obey the law of public opinion (ie the media) as well as deal with internal politics over funding resulting in Ukraine being pressured to play to the media as best they can to keep interest high and promoting the belief that they can win or at least turn things around. So they promote these events, even while the support they do get is just enough to keep fighting, forget winning, but that doesn’t stop the fact that they’re reliant almost completely on that support. Maybe the current calculus is that they just need to hang on public support for another 1 or 2 years before Western arms manufacturing can ramp up.

>>61561887This post is well though out and mostly accurate, so of course no one responded. But I would only disagree on one thing: I don't believe that Ukraine necessarily *must* be locked into this weird place their in. I thoroughly think that this situation is borne from the nature of and incessant focus on PR and propaganda by Western leadership. I don't believe anyone in civilian leadership truly, really understands the realities and necessities of the kind of warfare Ukraine is locked into, and as a result they're more or less deaf and blind to the actual war on the ground. Thus you get these weird moments like now with F-16s, where so much falls on the back of Ukraine while they're necessarily not getting what they need to perform to "acceptable" levels. >"F-16s=GOOD, but you'll get like 20 of them to start with, and they're kinda old lmaoSee the Zap Counteroffensive, as well, and the downward pressure applied to Ukraine by Western leadership to get results... with no airpower, effectively handfuls of NATO ground equipment, and a mountain of unrealistic expectations. There's so much kvetching about what happens with the next admin (assuming there is a next admin next year) that no one's really conducted a post-mortem on the aid regime we've already committed to. No, no, there's too much kvetching about it being "too much aid," for that.
>>61560741Initially, nothing. After that probably a ramp up of SEAD and CAP missions. We will definitely see a major uptick in reported Russian air and anti-aircraft losses. If the Ukrainians managed to thin either one of those two out enough, they will probably start running ground attack missions in combination with the other two.
>>61563486America lost the war because US congress, full of politicians elected by the 1968 progressive voters who were part of the counter culture and anti-war movement, voted to not send ammo and support and bomb North Vietnam in accordance to those same accords in 1975. This lead to the South Vietnamese military quite simply not having enough ammo to even fight.Basically, the US lost because of US congress. Quick reminder, the PAVN didn't actually plan to win the war with their '75 spring offensive. It was intended to be a limited campaign to capture a single province and some key positions. They didn't even have enough supplies stockpield for a drive all the way to Saigon by their own estimates. Then the ARVN collapsed so spectacularily fast that they ended up capturing more intact weapons and supplies and ammo than they had used up during the fighting and ended up sprinting to Saigon because there was literally nobody left to stop them.

It seems to be a settled-upon retardation among leadership that know very little about war, all talking to each other and determining courses of action based out of that ignorance. I don't even think much would change it, pending serious turnover in Western nations to personnel in leadership roles who have real military/warfare-tangential experience, at least enough to understand you can't force breakthroughs on the back of token supplies of ground equipment, or achieve air superiority with a squadron of rather old F-16s, at most.>>61566831It's the issue with the way this shit's been hyped up and reported, more or less at the behest of Western governments. >>61584542I have a better one
>>61584526>Russia has explicitly said it will treat every F-16 as if it was carrying nukesWhat is that supposed to change?
>>61600110I would think the USN has a large reserve fleet of (non-Super) Hornets?
>>61600234Probably that if they operate from another country, they will be hit there.
>>61600242I'm sure they do, a lot of them are still in service. The rest of them? What state are they in? What model are they? Probably older stuff in bad shape like the F-16s they're sending. The F-16 is probably easier to fix up and maintain logistically so they went with that. I mean, they did built 4600+ F-16s compared to 1480 F-18s. In any case, I think the media overhypes every new weapon as some sensational game changer. The truth is that massive amount of stuff like shells, mines, AA missiles... would help a lot more than a few jets and would be much cheaper. The West totally fucked up when they failed to immediately invest into production when in became clear that Ukraine won't fall instantly.
>>61600283>The F-16 is probably easier to fix up and maintainf16 mx fag here (avionics). it's not bad but it breaks a ton. the radar will brake every few flights. the sealant around the internal wing fuel probes is probably all rotted to shit and will be someone's nightmare. chances are the airframes are so twisted from over-Gs/decades of abuse that the boresight is way off, so unless they're dropping laser guided muns... well good luck
>>61567939>Russians know how to coordinate ADNot well enough to stop giving their brothers eternal flights.>It's not as simple as "just fire missile at radiation source"Right. Instead, you launch Storm Shadows and time the F-16s to release their HARMs about the same time Crews will have the choice of letting the Storm Shadows through and getting the mobik correction, or eating a HARM and getting the mobik correction. If you make the choice to keep the radar off to preserve the AD, you gift Ukraine a direct hit on a valuable target while expending less Storm Shadows and penetration aids like MALD. Instead of firing 8 Storm Shadows to score two hits, they shoot two to score two. Unless of course, you make the decision to stay on and get the radar mangled by tungsten cubes.>flying over multiple tunguskasAren't the Tunguskas a fucking no-show compared to Pantsirs and TORs? The only significant number of Tunguskas I've seen were in that video of the Russian complaining all of them were broken in some way and inoperable.>>61568600>they were quite literally originally invented for the sole purpose of potentially fighting a direct world war against RussiaThey were invented to be a A-1 Skyraider replacement based on the experience with Vietnam. They were repurposed as a sacrificial stopgap to delay Soviets while American reinforcements crossed the Atlantic. Against the Soviets, A-10s based in Germany would have a life expectancy of two weeks.
>>61573504>The Warthog is already battle tested in adverse conditionsThe only adverse condition was against the Iraqi Republican Guard, which shot down several A-10s and forced Gen. Chuck Horner to pull them back. The Iraqi Army in 1991, Iraq 2003, ISIS, Afghanistan, etc were not adverse conditions. They were in fact favorable conditions.>If I was a shill acting on behalf of Moscow or China I'd be down playing the A-10's capabilities and resilienceThey actually play up the A-10. They prefer to fight vulnerable and outdated aircraft instead of F-35s.There's a reason Pierre Srrey was invited by RT to shit on the F-35 and play up the A-10. They fear the F-35.
>>61573551>both sides are flying the su-25 frogfootAnd using them as shitty rocket artillery.I don't want CAS that suppresses my enemy with rockets falling ballisticaly. I want my JTAC to specifically tell the pilot to drop a 500 pounder and point the laser directly at my enemy machine gunner's dick because he can fly over the battle with impunity. Rather than ditching me and RTB'ing because his shit plane is too vulnerable to actually help.
