>>46706919>>46706928Really good, this will always be the one for me. Hopefully I'll have something interesting to post soon, though, been kind of busy.
>>46707423Are you going from station to station by means different than a trains?
>>46707720
>>46707785Yes, I'm walking
>>46707853

>>46708322Thanks for the photos, did you buy any goods from the shop?
>>46708696Two different kind of cookies that were pretty decent and Yokan (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yokan) that has an interesting taste.
>>46708424They were probably afraid that sooner or later one would fall on the tracks and kill himself.
>>46708322It was totally worth it having to wait 80 minutes for the next train for that pic.The current pic shows the bush/tree in front of the webcam.
And here is a certain webcam
And the last photo for now

Here is the route I walked today. 25k steps according to my counter. You could probably extend it by starting further down South, maybe in Aizu-Tajima. Extending it to the North is not possible because there is only the very busy main road with no pavement.

This map is the southern section of Shimogo showing the suspension bridge, the rest station and by the mountain lake. http://www.shimogo-live.jp/
>>46709624Damn, you actually walked that shit?Did you at least have some of the snake sake at Tonohetsuri?
>>46714774>Damn, you actually walked that shit? The route is pretty tame. Mostly flat or descending.>Did you at least have some of the snake sake at Tonohetsuri? No, but I saw the snake in the glass bottle. I was really surprised that the admission to Tonohetsuri is free of charge.
>>46715186>No, but I saw the snake in the glass bottle. One of the bottles is full of hornets, too.Tonohetsuri isn't really the sort of attraction you'd pay money to see. It's just a natural formation, a shrine and a deadly staircase. But it is a place to stop, get something to eat, buy some souvenirs. I think they often have farmers markets there as well.
One last photo of Aizu-Wakamatsu station.>>46716618Maintaining the bridge probably costs a lot of money

That leafy branch in the upper-right of the frame hogging 90% of the bitrate is really harshing my mellow.
>>46722061Yep, and especially when the wind's blowing.
I made these, one frame for every day in April.
This were all taken at the same time of day, I wanted the lighting to be relatively consistent but now I see that it doesn't particularly matter. I could probably do something more like four per day, if I did it again and wanted a higher framerate.
>>46722904>>46722908That's a nice way to review the cherry blossoms.

>>46700078So anything interesting happening during this golden week? I checked Ueda and there doesn't seem to be any parade broadcast this year.

Stream and new bird still chugging along.A lot of old sites and my bookmarks no longer work, so I'm happy there's still sites and cams like this that have stuck around. kind of like this thread :)

Blossoms all gone. I particularly liked the blossoms on the distant tree beside the station, the build-up of petals gave it a nice shade of pink.

>>46771507Some things have died but live cameras in Japan are bigger than they have ever been in their life. We've never had so much choice, so many angles. From the views of Fuji to Hakodate to Rabbit island to the bustle of Shinjuku. It's all there. On top of that train cams have continued to flourish

It already looks so steamy and humid in the webms. As much as I love Japan, I don't think I could live there due to the clamminess alone.
>>46811889Japan's hot and humid summer makes even people in Southeast Asia cringe.
>>46760100Just a vacation with a Reitaisai visit, several parties at weeb clubs and hikes. And I love to do round trips by train in Japan. It is so nice to be in a country with a functioning train system.I'm back home now. In hindsight, I really do not recommend to go to Japan during Golden Week. It is by far the worst of the three holiday seasons in addition to Obon and the New Year's week.
>>46811967Singapore is a lot worse. And compared to Japan there it is all year and not just summer.
>>46812071Mind sharing the hiking routes?I've been to Japan before for cons for cons (Comiket and Reitaisai were bucket-list worthy), but having visited cons if I went again I'd want to do some dedicated nature-basking.Anything that was a day trip or a convenient-enough day-night hike to carry the essentials on a passenger train?>>46812109As someone who has always wanted to see how life is in Singapore but don't have a real reason to visit and only have saving in the >$50k:Would you have anything to recommend doing that isn't blowing money on high-end experiences? If course some of it would be enjoying the MRT.
>>46812126>hiking in JapanIn many cases I just look at satellite images and search for interesting looking areas which I can access by train. For instance, from Kami-Aso station to Shirakawaguchi station which is quiet nice except when you are surprised by a Taifun (ruined my hiking shoes on that day). But be aware that many Japanese country road do not have any kind of pavement. Pic related is at 35°33'13.0"N 137°10'37.8"EI had quiet a lot of fun hiking on Rebun island and Rishiri island in Northern Hokkaido. Hiking up and down Mount Fuji was nice, too. It can easily be done in one day. Just bring goggles or tight fitting glasses against the dust and gloves because it is cold on the top. This one was good as well: https://www.japan-guide.com/e/e6078.htmlIn addition there are pilgrimage paths, e.g. Dewa Sanzan: https://www.japan-guide.com/e/e7900.html>SingaporeThe botanic garden is pretty good and free of charge. The MacRitchie Nature Trail including the tree top walk is also pretty cool and free. The Marina and the Garden by the Bay are okay, too. In addition, there are China Town and Little India with temples and food.
>>46812255>pretty cool night scene>completely ruined by illuminated tree branchReeeeeeeeeeeee!
>>46812257how do we cancel photons
>>46812257>>46812262We should hire some train ninja to cut the branch down.
>>46812126I just noticed that Japan-Guide has an overview page of hikes. Check it out: https://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2427.htmlRecommendations by Japan-Guide are mostly high quality in my experience.
>>46812126yamap.com is good for mountain tracks and stuff.
>>46812257Not only completely ruined by the branch being illuminated. Ruined by the branch taking focus.
>>46814652Damn, just look at those crispy clear leaves ... while the passengers at 1:20 are heavily pixelated.
>>46814409
>>46812304>>46812192Thank you for the advice!
How can there even be leaves coming in from the right in the first place? There should be nothing but rail tracks on the right of the camera and last I looked trees are generally not allowed to grow on tracks.
>>46819481You can see the suspect branches in anon's photos.>>46708981>>46709091
