What's the most iconic weapon of your country?
For the US I would say it's a classic cowboy style revolver, like a smith and wesson 19 or a colt single action.

Obviously Japan would be a Katana, Russia would be an AK-47, Italy would be a gladius.
A lot of middle eastern countries would probably be a scimitar

Probably the Luger 08.

Husqvarna shotguns in all their variations.
Commonly called "stugbössa" or cabin gun in English, there used to hang one in each home back in the day. So common today that a nice one is only €50-€60 in good condition.

When people think of Italy's iconic weapon, for guns I would think it would be something from Beretta. But I would still stick with the gladius because it's the iconic Roman weapon from when Italians were still a warlike people. And it comes from your greatest empire

why do italians love shotguns so much? even i, as someone who is only a partial italian mutt, feel this love distinctly
>>
Would say the 1911 aka two world wars is more iconic
Most cowboy weapons were made in Europe. Due to being cheaper
Also the colt army looks cooler

He’s not really wrong. When the US was manufacturing the M1892-M1898 Krag variants it was colloquially known as the “Springfield”, just as the “Trapdoor” rifles were before it, and the M1903 was after. The M1 was the one that seems to have broken the habit.
>>
>>196442809
the germans hated it for some reason
>>
>>196446291
I guess they just called any weapon made in the Springfield Armory a Springfield
