If you actually refer to the classical sources on democracy, nobody speaks highly of it. What they exalted was not democracy per se but democratic oriented aristocracy and republicanism, which is different from democracy as such. Democracy as a system of government was thought to be mad, and even among Renaissance and early Modern writers, democracy was something that could work but only with very specific and strict limitations, limitations that we left in the dust bin of history centuries ago. We did everything they said not to do, and what we currently have would be thought of by any classically minded thinker as so absurd and obviously bad that they would ask what the fuck we were thinking.
>>196442239direct democracy
>>196442340Did any of these classical writers have jets or mcdonalds? No? Then shut the fuck up
>>196441612>What kind of governing system would you want to take its place in your countryNone. The state is obsolete.
How can there be any kind of effective democracy when 1% of the populations owns half of the world's wealth? Its not about subjectivist factors (x or y politician, x or y party) but actual objective economic factors.
>>196441612The system is failing because those meant to maintain it are corrupt. Vote everyone out of office that is loyal to Israel instead of their own country and you'll at least be stepping in the right direction.
>>196442539I wouldn’t mind something like anarcho-syndicalism. But modern-day anarchists are mouth breathing retards compared to the ones of the past
>democracy badIt's amazing how retarded people are, the current "democracy" is just the result of corporate and finance hollowing out the state and government for many decades, and the state ceding the monopoly of power to oversized economic entities. When was the last time you remember a government had any long term vision apart from "growth"?>b-but government le bad!Of course the government is bad when it's been reduced to corporate lackeysOf course the government sucks after being reduced
>>196443130So what you're saying is we need to purge the corporations?
>>196441612It's not the democracy that's wrongIt's modern liberalism that's wrong
>>196443310Purge lobbyists, break up any business entity that is "too big to fail", and strengthen market control organs. Of course it'll only help for a while, once we get complacent government and institutions get infiltrated and weakened again. I doubt you can find an equilibrium, the pendulum always swings one way or another.
>>196441659> just be a small country on top of a mountain range with a history of political neutrality Oh ok
Alright I'll add a question then, if you still like democracy, how would you edit the democracy in your country to "fix" it? Be more specific than "purge [x]">>196441702>>196441704kek. duality of man>>196441831From personal experience mixing military with government doesn't work out. People think of based leaders of the past but it doesn't work that way with modern generals. It's just the same as normal corrupt democracy
>>196441659It literally only works there.Everywhere else it would drive their countries to the ground given how low IQ their populace is, specially here.I unironically wish we had someone like Vargas again. Who actually cared about the country's well being and development.Instead we get retarded lefists who can't into economics and right wingers who have some fetish about being subservient to western powers. It's sad.
>>196442174Not really, most want a return to 19th century styled liberalism where you had constitutional limits preventing the government doing egregious things. Most of the far right libertarians increasingly preferred the old monarchy to democratic government, like Hans Herman Hoppe. Democracy is a total meme, and leads to tyranny and government overreach. It's okay to have democratic structures in place for some things, like local government, but making elections into demographic headcounts and having governments only focus on the short term means long term problems can't be solved.

>>196443680I think it was Cicero who said "the laws didn't change, the people changed' in regards to the decline of the Roman Republic. Biological determinism is pretty much the truth and democracy leading to development is a meme, obscured by the fact that white countries are mostly democratic. China and Singapore developed without democracy, and India was held back by their democracy all through the cold war. Politics of envy also makes democracy dangerous, the average person is petty and dumb and will simply vote for more gibs. The bloated welfare state and massive transfers of wealth are evidence of the pathetic jelly nature of the average person.
