Programming with Java for Banks is extremely dull; I did not pursue a CS major for this; rather I love orchestrating things, making niche yet great stuff for fun.I'm quite sure every Java / web developer thinks the same way.What language should we study / IT discpline should we pursue to rekindle our passion for computer science?

So browsers, networking infrastructure, things that deal with parsing lots of untrusted input, stuff like that.To achieve this it borrows a few features from the typepilled academic languages which also make it a nice all around systems language that resembles OCaml with manual memory management.
