How do you dispose of your cooking oil?
>>20436386in your moms pucci
I dont cook or bake anything with oil or butter or lard
>>20436386I pour it in my oil burner for free heat
NOT
>>20436386I am ashamed of how long it was before I realized pouring oil down the drain was not what you were supposed to do. Now I just let it cool down and pour it in a giant bottle I use for collecting old oil.
>>20436386I put it in the drain then I know what my taxes are used for
>>20436414if you dont own its /not your problem/
>>20436414What do you do with the bottle?
>>20436386Let it cool off and pour it in the trash. I’m thinking about using it to line my house and yard to kill weeds while it’s still piping hot! You can also throw it in animals trespassing on your lawn.
>>20436433fuck it
>>20436386Folgers cans, keeps the smell contained.>>20436417Until they charge you for it when it inevitably needs to be fixed because you're willingly doing something that damages their property. Oh, and kiss your deposit goodbye too.
>>20436433Once it's full I just pour it down the sink
>>20436452they cant prove shit and if my deposits already gone they can say goodbye to all the other drains in the house when I move out, also unprovable
>>20436437>I’m thinking about using it to line my house and yard to kill weeds while it’s still piping hot!I do this with bacon grease to repel semites.
>>20436433I really don't want to talk about this.
>>20436460>unprovableThey'll see the cooking grease clog and know immediately.I know forward thinking and impulse control is hard for low IQs, but at least try to realize that not everyone is like you, unable to add 2 and 2.
I own a house with a septic system and still pour it down the drain. Pot of boiling water poured in once a day or so seems to keep it clear.
>>20436471If you're going to do that, use plenty of dish soap too. Water and oil doesn't mix so you need an emulsifier to wash it all out.
>>20436466nah, they wont, I've done this before buddy
>>20436477kek dangerously based unabashedly unhinged
>>20436455made me lol
you guys have leftover oil?
put it in a plastic bottle and dispose it in the trash
>>20436455kek
>>20436394Gay
>>20436394Yes you do, why lie?
>>20436471Youre retared
>>20436386I toss it in the lot across the street
>>20436386I either let it solidify overnight and toss it in the trash or I let it cool slightly before pouring it into a sandwich bag before tossing it into the trash.
Safest thing to do with bacon grease, this is goin' down the crapper
>>20436386I give it to my father, he soaks some starter logs in it for extra heating, don't care about the side effects at all kek
don't really use or produce much oil or grease/run-off when cooking but usually just soak up as much as I can with some kitchen paper and just dump it in the bin. might put it in the fridge for a while to solidify if I have more than usual
>>20436386I just reuse it
>>20436386I don't deep fry anything, I firmly believe deep frying has been one of the worst cooking inventions to date and a huge contributor to how fucking fat everyone is these days. All i get is some droplets left in the pan, it's so little that I either wash it out with dish soap or if there's more somehow i will wipe the pan with a paper towel.
>>20436386I mix it with dry oats and feed the birds with it.
>>20436386>pour into an empty jar>throw jar full of oil into garbage
>>20436386Straight into the sink. Splash of Fairy keeps it elastic until it clogs down my neighbour's pipes.
i soak up what i can wtih paper towels and throw them in the mixed garbage. i just scruub the pan afterwards
Soak it in a paper towel and throw in the food trash
>>20436386in the sink then blast with hot water until it's washed into sewer. then it's the city's problem.
>>20436386I live in the middle of nowhere and have a septic that that the sink is connected to with 2 pipes. I just drain it down the sink and haven't had issues for 2 decades now.
>>20436386>disposeinto a jar, and into the trashor onto a wad of newspaper/paper towels, and into the trash
drink it
>>20437260Is that actually safe to do?
I go outside and pour it on ant piles
>>20436386I collect it in jars. Then when my jars are full, I pour it all into a ziplock bag that's double bagged (I don't want to drip oil everywhere by accident), then I throw it out with the regular trash.
>>20436822I don't lie. why? because oil is yucky
>>20437298>regular trash.Don't American sort their trash?
I don't deep fry things so I don't really have that much leftover oil. I just drain it into my garbage bag which has a bunch of random shit in there that'll absorb it.
>>20437059Who owns the house? Septic systems don't handle that well.. Then again if you got 2 decades out of it it probably isn't that big of a deal, it's gonna probably be time to replace it.
support our planet's sustainable environmental development by pouring it into chinese gutters for reuse
I'm not a disgusting pig who would eat meals that require so much oil that there's big leftovers of it in the pan after I'm finished.Eww.
>>20437300In some places, others not.
>>20436417Why wouldn't I own? I'm not poor, I'm not paying someone elses mortgage for them.
>>20436433Cram it
>>20436433Drive into the city and throw them at black people
Not my problem, straight down the drain.
>>20436452>>20436417I am in a shared rent apartment for college students so every room shares a kitchen but is on a different lease. It is truly, undoubtedly, not my problem. But really the only oil I regularly produce is just from cooking ground beef for spaghetti. It's been a long time since I did any deep frying of chicken tenders, then is a half pan of oil.
>>20436455
>>20436386
Filter into jars by type, keep jars in freezer until useful amount is available.
>>20436394That's why your cookies suck, mom!
>>20436386>hot water>soap>mix>dump down drainIs that okay to do?
>>20436386Pour it in the firepit in my backyard.
>>20437925No it messes up your pipes.
>>20436414Take this bottle to work and pour it down a toilet. Make sure no one sees you doing this. Some anon on here woke me up to this, I'm sure he'll be along soon.
>>20436386Never down the sink. Don't want drain blockages. Most goes in a big old pickle jar. The jar goes in the trash when full. But bacon grease gets saved special, and used for making yorkshire puddings and toad in the hole. You can only approximate that with lard and paprika; the real thing is just so much better. It's a shame that most superstore bacon produces so little bacon grease. I want proper bacon grease!
>>20436455Top lel
>>20436455Lmao
dump it in the bushes out back
>>20436433
I fling the coagulated oil into the neighbors yard.
>>20436386mix with degreaser
>not making soap with your used oilStinky
>>20436386when i rented i did this. now that i own a home i don't use very much oil. I sop it up with paper towels.
>>20436477it's usually cheaper to snake a drain than sue a tenant. it's like 20 dollars to rent a drain snake.
>>20438518in the US like half of the weight of supermarket bacon renders into grease. I fill a small jar with grease every time I fry a pound.
>>20438910so why do people bother with some container to pour their grease in
>>20438976People just don't want to deal with the prospect of having a problem down the road. Also most people probably don't even know drain snakes exist or that you can rent them at Home Depot or Lowes.I own my house and I dump grease down the drain all the time but I usually mix it really well with soap and run the hot water for a good bit to follow it down. But I know that if it actually clogged I could just unclog it so I don't really have much of a fear. You can even use a toilet plunger on your sink to break loose a clog. It's not that big of a deal.
>>20439000huh, I figured it did some kind of damage to the actual pipes
>put it in swing tops from hobby lobby>smear lavender Lysol wipes on rim>take it to farmer’s market>sell it as essential oil bullshit
>>20436394How is it being british?
>>20439059I'm not an expert and if you have older metal drainage pipes then maybe it can corroded them internally. Most new ones seem to be PVC. Which is kind of like even if it breaks then whatever. Just shove a new one on.
>be me>have older friend finishing his undergrad >he lives literally right next to his university, maybe a 1 minute walk>friend absolutely loves bacon and regularly eats a pack of bacon in a day despite being a lanky fuck>one day ask where he disposes of all of the oil from the copious amounts of bacon he consumes>says he takes his full pan, walks across the street and dumps it in a bush near the parking garage>mfw
>>20439134I knew o should not have said the word lad.I'm a canuck and damn well enjoy it!summers coming and I'm getting horny as all hell for some slutty time outside.Road trips to eat food in other cities tooWE MADE IT THROUGH ANOTHER WINTER BOYS!!!!
i pour it over old bread and throw it out for the turkeys to eat, then i shoot the turkey and boy-lah, bacon infused turkey.
>>20436386no problemo
I put in a jar and bury it in the yard when jar is full
>>20436512You.. you too huh?
>>20436455Heh
>>20436900OH YEAH HOT FUCKIN POTATOES
>>20436386I use it as fuel for my grease lamps of course.
>>20436386I mostly cook with lard so I just dump it in a cup, wait for it to get solidish and then wipe it up with a paper towel and throw it in the garbage.
>>20436386Usually if I'm cooking hamburger in a skillet it is for some kind of casserole. My secret is fuck the calorie count I leave that shit in. Adds tremendous flavor and this semi-greasy but packed with flavor glaze over the noodles and vegetables I'll add to it. In most recipes that call for a fuckton of butter to smooth things out I just leave that out since the grease does the same thing.
Wipe it up and throw it in the trash>>20436477Sure you have mr internet tough guy
>>20437059>>20436471Fucking got me
>>20436386If it's animal fat I freeze it and make meatballs and burger patties with it (not all at once of course, just enough to make the dough all nice and moist). I don't ever deep fry stuff so I haven't ever had surplus vegetable oil.
I take care to use as little oil as possible. I don't have leftover oil usually.
>>20436386Let it cool, soak it up with a paper towel and toss it in the trash.
>>20436962deep frying is delicious but it's such a bitch in general to do I don't bother when you can just bake or airfry the shit out of something for a similar effect.>>20436386I use a can or a jar and fill it over the course ofa month or two, then toss it. Most of what I have leftover is just excess fat/liquid from browning beef though.
>>20436386I bought one of those refillable spray-oil bottles so i rarely have leftover oil even when I do use some. Some flour or corn starch into whatever sauce goes with what I cooked absorbs 99% of it anyway.
If your drain does clog, Green Gobbler will reopen it and the stuff doesn't harm your system: https://greengobbler.com/main-line-drain-openerHighly rec'd.
>>20436386I throw some old rice or some such into the pan to reheat after the rest of the food is done cooking, it sucks up all the problems
>>20440251>when youre too much of a pussy to believe someone pours grease down a drain
