Does this combo make any sense? Is it just about an ostentatious display of wealth? I can't decide whether the two go together or not, but I've got crab and steak in my fridge right now so thinking I'll have it tonight. What do you think, /ck/?

i don't eat bugs

It's kind of like the "wedge salad", it just exists because a restaurant that was considered fashionable 100 years ago did it, and it has traditional cred

I don't really fuck with crab legs because they're a pain to eat. But I like steak and shrimp an awful lot.
>>
>>20426157
stek is overrated. i'd rather have a thick, juicy pork chop to go with any type of seafood
>>
>>20426157
black people love steak with crab, shrimp, or lobster. i think wealthy people probably may occasionally pay for expensive things. what you've posted is not necessarily expensive whatsoever. i think you're gay and retarded.
>>

Dungeness crabs where I live cost about $16 each, and a good steak is about $15. $31 for a home-cooked meal with no sides is quite a lot.

Considering restaurant markup is 300% as a standard then that's close to $100 at a restaurant for a couple pieces of protein.

Anon 31 dollars for a steak and seafood dish is pretty reasonable
>>
>>20426222
It is reasonable, as I paid market rate for it, yes.

It is also still objectively a pretty expensive meal. Can't think of many other things that would cost that much to cook at home. Foie gras? Caviar?

Actually I didn't spend that much on it either as I caught the crab in the bay.

Either you're eating cheap ass skinny crab legs or you're a huge faggot

OH boo boo I have to pull a shell off my meat.

Get bigger crab legs next time.
>>
>>20426217
Dungeness crab tastes like trash, giant snow crab legs are comparable in price and way better.

I just save up and get Red King when I can tho, I'd rather have 1 meal of red king than 3 meals of dungeness.

$31 is like a bowl of pork ramen, what year is this?
>>
>>20426187
>pain to eat
Really? I find them quite easy. It's smaller, tastier crabs that I find a PITA
>>
>>20426315
Again homemade food not restaurant price. Retard.

A bowl of fancy ramen made at home would cost like $8.
>>
>>20426843
A good steak is not $15 unless you mean like a 3 oz filet
>>
>>20426852
How much are you paying? I got a USDA Prime ribeye for $20.

Turned out good.

Any good cuts are going to run $26+ per pound. The "best" cuts around $45
>>
>>20426959
You gotta start going to Costco, baby
>>
>>20426178
okay but wedge salad fucking rips
>>

It's the hatchling from the alien movies!

You didn't burn your mouth from the acid blood? Not even a little.
>>
What's crab like? I'm thinking about trying legs or a cake.
>>
>>20427071
Don't you need to buy the Pandemic Hoarder Pack for that kind of price?
>>
>>20428031
Not too bad. Bought a pack of 4 steaks. Cooked 1 froze 3.
