If I get nfg 95a's, F4 99A’s, or
97a’s, in a 54 or 55mm, I can ride comfortably on asphalt, and over cracks, and still do tricks like normal?
>>
crazy how many people do crooked grinds wrong in old videos. was watching photosynthesis the other day and there were so many missed pinches.
>>
>>12878706
That sounds fine. Rough ground is annoying but it's not that bad. You guys make it sound like you live in Cambodia or something.
>>
>>12878706
errybody rides 99 or 101 basically. idk why people talk about in-between wheels like 95s. if you want to learn tricks, buy a skateboard for tricks rather than buying a skateboard for rougher ground. then just find smooth-ish ground to skate on (skatepark, tennis court, parking garage)... that's what everyone does.

and about going over cracks - beginners suck at doing that because they can barely ride in the first place. you kinda have to get lightfooted and hop a little, without your feet actually coming off the board. anyway just avoid any decent-sized cracks in the beginning. sidewalks made out of a bunch of squares (typical american sidewalks) are definitely a no-go in the beginning. just start somewhere smooov

Can someone please help me find an old youtube clip? It was from about 2010 I think. A skater tries to 5050 a handrail and completely misses at the very top. He plants both feet on the rail them goes flying down and belly flops onto the pavement in a very violent manner. He then sits up calmly, looks over at the filmer and says "ow, that hurt real bad" like an autistic robot. Was filmed fisheye from the last stair. Probably an 8 second video. Used to make me cry laughing when I was younger, the way he calmly describes his slam sounds like he's talking about a paper cut when he just got carcass tossed down 15 stairs lmao
>>

I should have tried to find it myself before being asked to be spoon fed. Here it is, a youtube skateboarding classic. This must be a reupload cause it's definitely older than 2016

no your front truck is always your front and back is always your back because the way the board rides will make them fuck your turning if you swap them

the wheels on the otherhand actually lose diameter differently so if you rotate them youll actually get to ride longer using the same set
its not even that fucking hard and you can clean and lube your bearings while youre at it

I looked at my wheels one day and thought it seemed like one was larger than others. I got curious so I busted out a measure and confirmed it. The monetization of capital and its entrance in the financial market leads to monopolisation tendency. Monopolisation tendency is increased capital accumulation in fewer hands. Over time, this quantity increase transforms society qualitatively, since production factors tied to several business now are on service of more compact interests. The military-industrial complex, the decrease of 60 multinational pharmaceuticals to 10 in a span of ten years and so on. Once it reaches a certain point, class warfare accentuates since the effort to control workers becomes more concentrated and thus gains greater direction.

im a little too old for his stuff to really resonate with me, but I think he's probably a pretty good influence for the kids. hes not always sperging out and yelling and shit.

the main thing that bothers me about George is that he should be better at skating. he's been doing it for 15 years and it's been his job recently, or at least a big part of it. for example can he kickflip manny a box? nollie crook? switch tre? maybe he can do some of that stuff, but it seems like he doesn't really push himself or battle new stuff very often. always the same relatively basic tricks.
>>
>>12888605
you new or something? skateboarding is about looking good. just wondering what other people think of these types of tricks that aren't typically executed on this type of obstacle.

for example consider boardsliding a box. it looks like shit. every time.

thoughts on wrist guards? will they actually prevent sprains?
>>
>>12893921
it's something to consider if you rely on your hands to make a living but I wouldn't recommend a firm wrist guard. if it prevents a sprain, it may move the impact of the fall to the elbow or the shoulder. padding up is most effective when it's done fully.

what I'd recommend is some sort of a bandage or a compress that will not give you total protection, but should prevent those injuries that would put your hand out of commission for a week.
>>
>>12893921
>>12893985
I should also add that the single best way to prevent injuries is to learn to fall properly.

New to skating, I've been practicing stationary ollies and I can kind of do them, but everytime I land my board feels unstable as fuck, like if I slip even the slightest bit my ankle is gonna snap.
Is this just an execution problem or could be trucks/wheels are too loose or something?

how 'new' are you. can you push comfortably, are you comfortable on the board at all when it moves or tilts? it sounds like you aren't and should focus on these things. there's no such thing as "wheels/trucks" too loose when people are landing tricks you never will with trucks that rattle like bones. practice more of the basics before you try tricks and don't lie and say "i am". also land bolts.

Anyone tried riding a wide board with smaller trucks? Apparently Reynolds rides wide boards on indy 139s which sounds weird as fuck but it has me intrigued.

Oh yeah I saw him talking about. Some of those Baker guys would use 8.5 boards with the 139s. They said it it help even out the "weight" of the big board and it would flip/scoop easier. I don't know. I like mine to be even.

anywhere you can walk, you should skate especially if you're a beginner imo. also just keep your board in your car. you never know when you'll find a cool spot you never knew about.
probably the biggest downside of snowskating is you can't just cruise like that unless it just snowed.

it's decriminalized in my state and I'm right on the border of a legal state. I drive over the border to a well respected dispensary w like a dozen locations in the state.

are carts known for having shit chemicals and fillers? all i know is that they burn my throat like hell. I could chainsmoke cigs for an hour without coughing, but the vape destroys my shit.

i dunno much about different ways to smoke... probably gonna get a flower vape so I can continue smoking inside. like a volcano but cheaper, if thst exists.
>>
>>12911436
not so much the shit chemicals/fillers but just the process the stuff is made and the stupid little cart tech being garbage on top of that. not the end of the world, but like you said it's harsh as shit. and at the end of the day i don't trust most companies when they say it's a strain. i believe most just shove thc extract from various indica/sativa and then pick terpenes that match a strain. if the carts are rosin or something similar at least you're getting something closer to weed.
the people who make the volcano make one called the plenty, it's still above 100 bux but it's worth it.

uh currently its just the only board I own but im getting new pieces soon
my first board I fucked up and got smaller trucks for the board but this time I ordered a smaller board along with bigger trucks to swap the pieces
new boards also gonna have softer wheels so thats what im gonna cruise with, the other one ill just use at the skatepark so I dont fuck up the wheels going over asphalt

yeah it sucks b/c they are super convenient. my only advice is to get a better battery that has an adjustable heat setting more than 3 click settings, if you don't already. then just hit it at a lower temp and hold in the hits longer. treat it like low temp dabs.
also since this is esg, whats your favorite strain to skate while smoking

cool. i ordered wrist guards today.
i know ill probably get hate and "just fall properly" comments but sometimes theres that unpredictable slip out where you can't prep yourself for falling properly.
also im older and can't afford to mess up my wrists.
>>
>>12918217
you still have to fall properly or they wont help
>>
>>12918442
i like to think i know how to fall properly at least most of the time, grew up skating stairs and gaps and never broke anything thankfully.
much older now and dont do any of that, but falls do hurt more and a recent slip out banged up my wrist pretty bad.
im hoping wrist guards at least lower the chance of screwing myself up permanently.

not a big strain person but I remember Alaskan Thunderfuck feeling like a very energetic/euphoric type of high. was good. hbu?
>>
>>12920836
>weed grows in Alaska

By the way, if there are any teenagers here, weed is not a prerequisite to be a skateboarder. I have seen people fuck their lives up with it and I don't mean they stopped fulfilling their ascribed social roles of being obedient workers, I mean they got launched out of orbit and they started getting a antiapsychotic injections and become fat. You can still come back from that, but it's an actual journey and it will leave you traumatised. Smoke it if you want it, don't get smoked by it.
>>
>>12920929
>weed grows indoors & names are irrelevant
shut the fuck up nerd
>>12920836
big fan of chemdawg i m o
>>
>>12920929
i agree w this and I'm the dude who wrote positively about Alaskan Thunderfuck. weed definitely makes me a worse skater, but I still enjoy it, specifically when I'm alone at an empty park or I'm just skating flat.

but really if you wanna warn young people about substances, alcohol ruins far more lives, and it's much easier to slip into problems with alcohol with it being so socially accepted.

all sorts of vids from all sorts of companies have terrible filming right now, so it doesn't really stand out as that bad.

music is really bad tho.
