Now that's what social media owners are interested in.That shit is studied on how to keep users engaged as maximally as possibly on the site, to drive up traffic and shows ads for profit. You'd have to consider modern human behavior as well. Most people aren't interested in genuine interaction or challenging their own dogma, even less if it's forced in any way and they will just revert to old time hugboxes or straight up /b/ tier shitposting. You'd have to also consider what companies goals are with running social platforms; and it mostly isn't about hosting useful content but rather having as much traffic as possible.Clout and number chasing are simply a symptom of having quantity before quality. On the other hand, if platforms were made with quality in mind, they wouldn't be as populated, BUT they will surely be heavily monetized. The government knows that the current platforms are made to be addictive but why aren't they taking any steps against it? Because it is not hurting their bottom line atm and many companies have invested interests in advertising on it so they will defend the current model hard af.Comment too long. >>7102145People voluntarily drug themselves in developed countries. Many of the drugs are actually supplied from the global south. Things are better run than doomers give them credit for, it's just that the ends being pursued are very shitty. Plastic planet, Fallout vaults in Hawaii, palatial yachts, gig economy, low fertility in expensive countries, high fertility in cheap countries, free porn but not even free wifi,... it all works just not for you specifically
>>7101632this without a single drop of sarcasm
>>7102155Look, the critical point is>Why are platforms suddenly changing their stance on adult content?>Who is paying and investing in these companies?Follow the money, get the actual answers.
>>7102148Nah, you could totally do it.
What's stopping (you) from making your own indie animated series, anon?
>>7101990Hence why I said "sometimes"
>>7101259no, because it's boringI like drawing characters and backgroundsI don't like the idea of drawing the same shit with slight variations over and over
>>7101993if you recognize that sometimes hard work *does* pay off, then why would you say>Not sure why people deny this?
>>7091666I'm bad at drawing but I like designing. I've been trying to delve into 3d animation for that reason. 2D animation just doesn't appeal to me anymore, I want to create worlds and have characters live in those worlds. Also I want to be a totally solo animator and with 2D, that's a pipe dream.
>>7101999cuz child-brains want to get into arguments and try walking back what they said without admitting they are wrong
So "one point perspective" can be used to find the angle of the z axis, but how do I find the DISTANCE my line should have at that axis?Let's say I draw a line that's 2 units at the x axis, how long would that line be at the z axis? It's "technically" 2 units too but visually it should be shorter right? How much shorter? I bet that calculating it involves pi or some shit but there's gotta be a way to do it in your head
find 45deg points,,,, hopefully someone will correct me if wrong, Imo easiest to think about fov/lens/cones of vision (terminology is all over the place in perspective teachings)... 90deg is helpful when drawing cubes,,, someone linked trust your perspective yt,,, good series, but don't worry about measuring points to much imo,,, (that stuff can get chaotic pretty fast)
Ah fuck, ignore me, horizonal width is wrong dunno why tf i commented,,, cant delete post \o/ ,,,, basically in 1point the face of a cube is always prefect square,,, am rusty af,,, basically learn about sp's and 45deg points (imma go revise that shit now xD)
>>7100209>>7100195Hahaha, later you will come ask how to find out if your boxes are truly boxes in perspective. Dude, just do Olson any other advice you hear here is bullshit from people wanting to keep you beg forever.

how do i deal with fear of drawing? i want to draw, but i'm scared of failure. i get that to learn anything you must fail repeatedly, but after studying and making no progress and understanding nothing i get really downtrodden
>>7100888they already made this thread at least once before as well, which was clearly unproductive. either genuine mental illness or just someone here to get kicks.
>>7100888He lives in Greenland faggot so there's no grass
>>7100328The actual solution is to try and stop posting on social media and equating the quality of your art to the amount of likes you get.
>>7100328I did a lot of mistakes i do edits and draws on /h/ and i did a fuckups like drawing cunt upside down, fucking up the fingers, fucked up coloring and multiple other things. People laughed at me, i was laughing at my self and then felt bad for fucking up such a simple stuff.I always focus on that feeling of achievement and that good feeling when people thank you and foremost looking at my own picture and saying it's a good work i will sleep better today and i learned something.Fuckups happen, they always do and nobody is perfect even your geniuses that somebody was mentioning here fucked up a lot of times i know this because i was near my friend that is actually pro working in industry he is talented he know how to draw from like the day i knew him which was at 2 grade of elementary school and even then he could do stuff that some of people here simply don't have skill to do. What's important is to understand that if you want to improve you have to fuck up. If you keep staying from it you will just be mad at yourself for not actually doing anything.

2D charcaters need to consent? What the fuck is wrong with America? It’s fucking drawings.
>>7102100it's weird because they give imaginary people more rights than real ones
>>7102100Tumblr retards truly has taken over America. And it's infuriating that most of World economy is still tethered to the US Dollar.
>>7102111I don't even like non-con, but this makes no fucking sense. Using this as a basis for your argument means fictional characters cannot possibly consent, as it's all within the creators power to make or not make them consent. If fictional characters can't ever consent that makes all depictions of them abuse. You should therefore not be allowed to draw them in the first place, as there mere existence is one sided and determined by the author's whims and therefore in itself non-consentual. Applying human rights to non-existent beings is insane.
>>7102129>Applying human rights to non-existent beings is insane. Not if robowaifus are coming down the pike, it makes sense that we're seeing a big push for rights to non-existent fictional things. You can bet that we'll see consent laws passed where you sign a legal document between you and a corporation because a corporation is seen as a person under the law. You will live to see the day where you will witness a divorce between some poor lonely schmuck that didn't pay for a platinum subscription but wanted a handy anyway and gets fucked by the legal system.
>>7102111>>7102129Once you understand that the debate around what images you are allowed to craft is a form of theology, even in the absence of any mention of god or belief, things begin to fall into place. If imaginary characters can't give consent, not even to one another, there shouldn't even be a debate around imaginary depictions of non-consensual behavior. The debate is entirely downstream of what values are already held, and every and any argument and rhetorical flourish will be drafted to fight no matter how ridiculous or incredible it sounds, because the value is what is important and not how many signs are supposed to appear with the apparition of a particular saint or archangel. The actual video pornography industry is under threat here and is attacking artists as a proxy for preventing an AI porn business from undercutting it. And they've essentially hired "priests" to do this for them. So on the surface, erotic artists vs payment processors, but one level deeper it is the porn industry vs big tech. The moralizers are hired wailing women. And of course, it's your funeral.

I'm making a schedule for the month to make sure I get actual study in. I'll be posting my progress every day (except Sunday, that's the Lord's day). Join me if you want! It's designed to take about an hour each day, and I expect to draw for fun on the side when I have the time.I plan to really level up my art by the end of the year!
And now the second half of March! Next goal is to work on making a comic, so drawing people and perspective is important.April will begin on actual paneling (though I already have some pages done here and there). Happy St. Patrick's Day! And Happy Passiontide!
>>7100708can I work alongside you?
>>7100755Please do! It would be a lot more fun with two.
>>7100708March 18 assignment done
>>7099171Day 35Looking through my reference folder, the choice was clear. Marisa has a simple color palate (black, white, gold), which helps her stand out in the large cast of tohou. And I like maids and witches, so it's a golden combo.>>7102053Eizouken! Immediately recognizable!
how are my rough layouts?
i also made this goofy character layout based off a teletarde "animation"
The general thread for Manga / manga-styled comic-making, manga-style illustration and related comic work. That said, everyone is welcome here.Support each other and talk about your work or the work of others that excites you. Inking, character design, paneling / layout, writing, planning, and other discussions are all welcome.Post resources, questions, in-progress pages, breakdowns of other works, etc. If a work is not yours, credit the maker (unless it's fucking obvious like a full page of One Piece or something). Thanks to everyone for making /mmg/ a level-headed and helpful place. >>7101402That's incredibly hard. You might be able to do two pages a day for a few days, but eventually you'll burnout and end up doing 0 pages for a while. Thats what happens to me. I can draw a page a day or maybe two pages a day and all is well and good, but then I burn out and can't even muster up a measly one page a day. The human brain cannot work perfectly without stopping unless you're fucking crazy or being pressed by an outside force.
>>7101865Thanks a lot, good to have some reference. I experimented crosshatching a bit on koromon, you got tips on how to do it better? It was hard knowing where to leave some negative space
>>7101930nta, but when I'm on that autism/ocd high I gotta ride that train. I cant focus on anything else, just gotta draw draw draw. Then get burned out, come back a week (or month) later and get back to it. But I was able to get enough work in that time to justify it
>>7102019I've been there, but its unhealthy and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Its better to be consistent even if slow.
>>7102015NTA but I think you need to work on construction first. The ultimate goal of shading is to add form and depth and to do that you need to have planned out the planes of the drawing. Once you've mastered that you can worry about things like negative space and aesthetics.

why did medibang decide to make a ripoff procreate exclusive to the ipad?
>>7100734a what
It's Huion a decent brand now? After 6 years I want to upgrade to a 24 inch drawing tablet but Wacom is way too fucking expensive on my country, I'm talking like 3x times the price of a Huion.
>>7100984Huion is good. I've been using a Kamvas 13 for almost 4 years now and outside of replacing the screen protector it's like the day I bought it. Never had an issue with it once and I've never even had to replace the original cable. XP-Pen from what I hear also caught up to Huion and Wacom in quality so you have plenty of choices when it comes to budget friendly screen tablets.
