honestly I don't get why wrestlers keep working for so long, i understand it's a big company and artform with a rich history and it's probably one of those "once a wrestler, always a wrestler" things but damn, all the smart wrestlers go work backstage shit or become trainers.

I think its an addiction to the lifestyle, not being satisfied with their career, didn't earn enough money (not Jericho in this case), or the fact they have no other skills in life.

angle mentioned on stone colds podcast that traveling during wwes schedule and wrestling basically every night was the only thing that made him take even less pills than he would at home doing nothing. he was still downing pills but he had a lot more distractions.

some guys can't let go. I think one of the more relieving stories is one former ecw wrestler, I forgot who, is now a manager at target making good money instead of destroying his body in bingo halls trying to hang onto his former career he had 20+ years ago.
