It's not easy to master to be sure, but to start off you can compile and tag a dataset and get someone's else's config file for character training (you can search fro one in /hdg/ archives), and you're good to go. I'd say vram is the biggest filter.

Load that gen into img2img and run it with an upscale at sub-0.5 denoise strength and it should instantly get much better.Seems like you need to start start from the begging. Install Forge, get Autismmix and SDXL VAE and watch/read some guides in FAQ. Also read how to prompt properly on the model description page, that 'masterpiece' stuff is obsolete in most SDXL models.

I share my best ones after all the AI refinement and manual touching up, but there are 1k+ sloppy ones lying around that need some work which I wouldn't share in their sloppy state.
