I suppose that this behaviour is due to the fact that compared to Anime V3 Furry V3 has more parameters for controlling size difference and types. For most size scenarios, though, I've found that Furry V3 can deal with micro characters pretty decently without inpainting: for this pic, for example, I haven't needed any additional inpainting to create the small Link. I don't know what kind of scenario you're trying to reproduce, but maybe I can help you if you can be more specific about it.
