PAL supremacy!
>>
>>10882705
nah, the remastered tracks from the older entries don't compensate for the shittiness that is 25fps. Wish this one would get the reverse engineered treatment.
>>
>>10882718
25fps is the framerate the game was intended to run. The games were made in Europe and Europeans were the primary audience for Wipeout. Blindly hating on PAL versions of European-made games is ignorant.

it's a slideshow in this age and day

thots on Wipeout 64? are the saturn ports that bad? were the PS2 titles an affront to the series?

Who's the artist?
>>
>>10883870
DJ Sasha.

post your work
>>
>>10882929
I'm not sure what would make your post more amusing, if you knew who the artist was, or if you didn't.
>>
>>10882718
doesn't the burger version also have simplified ship physics like in XL?
>>
>>10884003
No, if anything most oldfag players prefer the physics of W3 over SE

As far as I know:
>physics model 1
OG W3 in both NTSC and PAL
>physics model 2
W3 NTSC-JP, I haven't tested myself but I've read about the physics being different from normal W3
>physics model 3
W3SE, a lot more floaty than the original, allowing you to skip big portions in several tracks that feature jumps
>>
>>10882775
Play the Saturn port of 2097 to see what a real slideshow looks like.
>>
More like Wipeass.
Lol!
>>
>>10884258
On the offical wipeout forum the fans literally call themselves "wipers" lmao

I studied art with DJ Sasha. He was really talented, but his father wanted him to follow the music business and loathed drawings. Sasha hoped to make music that could be deciphered by a special application which would convert them to real-time drawings.

I do appreciate the Adam Warren art, but I remember first reading about 3 from Gamers' Republic. I do sort of miss Psygnosis because they did master using the PS1 hardware.

Wipeout is total fucking fire and underrated. So is Ridgeracer vanilla.

is that bubble gum chewing gal even in the wipeout games?
>>
>>10887419
Apparently she's supposed to be one of the playable pilots from Wipeout 1, named Arial Tetsuo, though she doesn't look like that in the actual game.

You can control the ship's tilting with up/down directions, plus hyperthrust lets you reach crazy speeds if timed right just before a jump. In OG W3, and previous entries too, the ships fall down faster after a jump and feel a lot more weighty, in W3SE doing this technique will produce crazy "jumps" with way more reach than what the original games could produce, which combined with shoddy wall detection can help you skip big portions of the track.

Check Talon's Reach in W3SE:

And compare it with the original W2097/XL version:

Wipeout 3 takes place 64 years after Wipeout. She'd be a granny by that point.

Wipeout has some weird-ass story/lore you don't see in the game or anywhere else

Music video is somewhat accurate to the WipEout lore.
>>

2097/XL is the peak 1990s design, and also the best soundtrack.

Are you all familiar with the PC ports??
Goddamn why did you all mention this on this board? or i could have missed it
Man, I love these PC source ports. This looks so beautiful and feels so smooth at 240fps on my 240hz display.

>>
>>10895228
I didn't know these existed, but why not just use a PSX emulator?
>>
>>10895263
AFAIK phantom edition runs at as many FPS as your computer can run it, plus you can choose different physics models apart from the original in case you prefer the handling of 2097 or 3.
