For $6800 USD, you can buy a brand new 4 wheel drive Suzuki Carry with locking differential and a manual transmission.

Do you really need anything more?

Why did you post the old one?

Street legal in TX since the beginning of April.
>>
>>27608985
Not quite. 25+ year old ones which are federally exempt just like any other import, yes. Under 25 year old Kei trucks were not just granted a pass to be registered to be legally driven on the street. All the ruling did was codify that non-FMVSS compliant imports are to remain legal in the face of other states trying to ban 25+ year old imports.
>>
>>27608967
It's not necessarily that the op is full of shit. You can buy a brand new 2024 carry with 4wd and locking diffs for 6800 USD. But in Japan.

Is 2030mm the bed length? So this thing has a bigger box than your average burger truck?
>>
>>27609054
No, this is pretty common where i live
>>
>>27609054

If you take all the stuff off the back. No. If not it is just LARP. However at least it would be a unique LARP and less gay that milcuks in their toyota tacomas that can't sit in a restaurant with their back to the door despite not actually being aware of their surroundings when they are walking outside.
>>
>>27608562
They look like they'll tip over.
>>
>>27609253

When empty 80% of their weight is below the bed.
>>
>>27609263
And when there are 2 people sitting in it?
>>
>>27608562
They don't have the off road capability of a UTV and they're borderline unusable on the street. I don't really get the point of them.
>>
>>27609286

It's actually probably more than 80% because the engine is fully below the bed too.

2 people my size would be adding 400 lbs to a 1500lbs vehicle.

They are far less tippy than any side x side. Trust me bro we have tons of them in my country from all brands and side by sides are relatively common on the highway as well.

The vans have a problem with high winds because they are basically sails but the trucks are 100% like golf carts.
>>
>>
Let me guess, you need more?
>>
>>27608562
It tows and hauls less than my half ton lowered truck, and my suburban will mog it in towing capacity while also having room for 9 people and gear, or 7 comfortably and even more room for gear.

Put on 30K kms driving mine. Almost all on the road. Totally fine. They may not have the rock-crawling potential of a UTV but they're fine on farms and the drop-side bed is at a comfortable height and is way bigger.

Honda mini trucks are no longer made. I like Suzuki. True mid engine layout. Mine handles well, although I have added more negative camber on the front. Mazda, Nissan and Mitsubishi mini trucks are all face-lifted Suzuki's now.

It probably couldn't and she's 4'11 and barely 120 pounds. Not sure what you're upset about Anon, kei trucks typically can't even do freeway speeds, they aren't going to haul 1000+lbs for long let alone up any sort of incline, they're not going to tow a 20-40ft trailer of any significance, and even when they can, you cannot factually argue that they aren't designed to take that sort of use for extended periods. Meanwhile, my 37 year old suburban continues to haul a 30 foot boat as well as numerous cross state trips of lumber, cars, and various machinery without a damn hesitation.
>>
>>27610503
Im not the anon you're replying to, but yes they are different classes of vehicle. A suzuki carry will indeed run for a long time if you take care of it. There's many box and freezer kei vans running around with close to 400k km on them. If you ever need to change the engine, you can literally lift it out yourself and drop a new one in there. I believe they have a payload capacity of 750lbs which is pretty good for a truck that weighs about 1600 pounds. They are arguably and proven to be good based on sales alone, but around town they will get great gas mileage. Of course they have limits
>>
Isn't it pretty easy to make side by sides road legal in most (US) places? Not that they're much different price wise, but it's not particularly unique
>>
>>27611588
I wish it was that easy but generally no you can't make them street legal which is a shame. Some counties or small towns will let you drive them on the side roads from your property into town but that's about it. Side by sides can get pretty shitting expensive. A JD Gator with an enclosed cab with heat and AC is $30k+. A good side by side without a CVT is also $30k+. Sounds like a lot but one of these mini trucks would still be $20k+ if they were available new here.
>>
>>27611588
In AZ all this shit is street legal
>>
Story time. My friend had a 2-stroke 3 cylinder carry van it sounded good but it struggled on the highway.
So when we needed to overtake someone the driver would yell "KITT I NEED A TURBO BOOST" and one of the passengers in the back would open the engine cover and spray aerostart into the intake.

Up here in Oil Country, those are the signature ride of the faggiest of 20-something rig pigs who have too much disposable income and no sense. Usually paired beside a white Jeep Cherokee for the kid they had with a bar slut at 21.

Thankfully most just wind up repo’d or rolled into a ditch. But hey, if you LIKE telling the world that you’re an emotionally stunted niglet, you do you.

Even if you could make it road legal, a side by side is not ideal on pavement unless it had road tires. They should be road legal in cities but they aren't. Where I live no one cares if you drive them on the public roads, but that aside they still cost a lot more than a kei truck. Especially if you add things like an enclosed cab, heaters, air con if you can even get it? Etc

Why are you comparing new to used? More pictures of the truck please. I love that gen, especially the 2wd.

I missed out on an opportunity to buy a 2000 ram 5.2 QCLB 2wd that was CLEAN as fuck underneath and very cheap. Only problem was that it was manual and my American wife would have needed to drive it as much as I do.

We had a 2003 ram 4.7 quad before but it had too much salt in it so it was breaking down once a week for unforseens.

I love the truck so much im converting it, shouldn't be a big deal other than finding that transfer case it's all pretty straightforward
