I want to get back behind the kit. Used to play on acoustic but have to buy electronic for practical reasons. I have heard Roland is the way, and I am considering buying a TD17 KVX2. But since I don't know much about ekits and cannot go into a shop any time soon, I'd like to know if you guys have other brands to recommend. I have an intermediate level and mostly play metal
>>121818172I bought an edrum as my first drum kit and haven't touched it in years because it makes me feel like a fucking retard beating on pieces of plastic.
>>121820432that's because you're approaching things with the wrong mindset.
>>121818172Cant go wrong with roland or alesis
>>121818172Alesis is REALLY neck and neck with Roland these days. i'd go with Alesis personally
>>121820432Not my first kit, and nobody's around so I'll definitely use it.>>121820499I started to get interested in that brand. It could leave me spare cash for a fast double bass drum pedal. I've heard the Alesis kick pads aren't really adapted for the latter though.
>>121818172I personally don't know anything about e-drums but good on you for taking the plunge. As a metal guitarist who mostly records analog I say it's pure pleasure fiddling with digital equipment. I mean it's pain, but there's the utmost pleasure in this specific kind of pain.

>>121818172I bought a TD17 over COVID.It's a great kit for apartments, especially if you build a riser to eat any pedal noise. But I could never get the Hihat calibrated right: Analog will always have more nuance.
>>121818172what's the most realistic kit one could get that's <$500? I want to learn how to play, but can't get an actual set for the time being either. My skill level and only experience I have is playing moderately difficult songs on rock band on expert
