just getting into this anime, and following through with it in chronological order. so I just finished picrel, but where the hell can I find roots of ambition? and idk, having a gene that makes you lucky sounds like some Jojo shit that might get old real quick.
>chronological ordernigga you dun gouf'dProduction order or else you're just creating a headache for yourself
Chronological order doesn't really unlock any secrets in the story for you it just creates problems with continuity.
>>22574346>chronological orderGood morning, I hate zoomers.
>>22574346You can find the whole series on nyaa, anyways don't watch Votoms in chronological order the whole supreme survivor stuff doesn't even really get hinted at until like halfway through the original series. Also Roots of Ambition comes before Pailsen Files chronologically.
so just dive into the original 50+ votoms episodes, and work my way up from there?
>>22574362Yes, dumbdumb. Year of release > anything else.
>>22574364cool. appreciate the heads up. to be quite honest, I picked this up purely because it was military Mecha anime that wasn't Gundam. any other recommendations pertaining to that specific niche?
>>22574362do this for every franchiseprequels are designed to be watched after the original, they build on what came before themanyone who told you to watch shit in "chronological order" is a retard and should be shunned
>>22574367maybe try dougram?people will tell you gasaraki but be warned the whole second half is magic voodoo stuff
>>22574373To be fair, magic voodoo stuff was there from episode one
>>22574367M.D. Geist
>>22574373I love Dougram, deep down I wish it had votoms as the mechs instead. Anyways Dougram is right down your alley OP
>>22574390wanted to get into that. how many entries though? two movies and that's it?
>>22574367was obsolete just a meme experimental anime, or was it actually good.
>>22574346>chronological order
>>22574346In all of the franchises and all of these lists Votoms has the one asterisk. Watch Alone Again right before Phantom Chapter. The jump after Shining Heresy was so jarring Alone Again was made to address viewer complaints.
>>22574713>cute order
>>225746961986 edition and sequel, that's it.
>>22574362No, don't listen to the autistic faggots here, watch whatever you find most interesting at the time. If, say, you wanna watch Mellowlink before the OG series, that's fine.
>>22574362Their are a lot of anime franchises where you can just jump in at the latest entry and you'll be fine. Votoms in my opinion isn't like that because the majority of the characterization and World building happens in the original series. Everything afterwards just feels like an addendum. Chronological may seem fun, but this is one of those things you need to experience in production order cause every series that comes after the original assumes you know what happened in the first series.
pretty sure the prequel series assume you already know chirico is unkillable god candidate while the first series eases you into the idea over a shitton of episodes
>>22575405I do wanna watch mellow link first purely because of the fact that a simple dude with an ATR(or AMR in this instance) is capable of going toe-to-toe with fucking high armored mechs is cool as hell, but I think I'll just watch the originals first cause it seems like proper initiation into the series.>>22575434I'll take your word for it
>>22575568Go for it. The only caveat I present to you is that the original TV show was animated back in 1983 and that sometimes bugs people. Hope you have a good time.
Watch in order of release and have a good time. Everything's included in that one torrent from Nyaa (it's in hi-definition too, which is a treat).Mellowlink, Finder, and Irvine are all standalone stories, (and are a great watch) so feel free to check them whenever you'd like.>>22574367I'll add to the Dougram recommendation, it's even more down to earth than Votoms, highly recommended. A bit of a time investment, but worth it.
>>22575761Whoops. Posted ant resolution by mistake.
>>22575761It's bad HD though :( even though the old DVD rip is better
>>22575936>by mistakeYou think I don't know you are actually an ant? I'm onto you.
>>22576254Why does this say "nosound" when I can clearly hear everything that's happening?
>>22574567Where does battle of the heterogeneous fall into this chart?
>>22576948I believe right after Kummen
>>22577051>>22576948Ah if you mean production order, that's Big Battle
>>22574567>>Japanese people have discovered Did you think they excavated it from an ancient space capsule? Also let's be real, there were some who were lucky to watch it on TV and then a huge gap when all that was readily available was the OVAs. You don't want the actual Japanese experience.
>>22577060I don't know man, watching something like this as it was cutting out during its most relevant period sounds pretty good, not everything has to be consumed all at once.
>>22577060Shut the fuck up.
>>22577060Retard lmao
>>22577071You shouldn't have listed the episode counts. Now people will know when to get mad when the show starts to end and it starts sucking.
>>22577107I don't know who you're referring to but it's not me.
>>22574367and Incase you're ok with manga
What are some other good Votoms games?
>>22580666I still wanna play this game sometime. Although, the skating motions seem a bit too exaggerated. Like, I know just how flexible the ATs are supposed to be, but the point where you're on skates 24/7 without repercussion seems a tad much. Something between this and HG2's movement would be optimal.Anyway, I heard PS1's Lighting Slash is good.
>>22580666There's not very many. The Battling Road is a Mode 7 action game on the SFC, nice graphics but haven't played too far into it. Good presentation.Blue Knight Berserga Story is a great Virtual On clone with a story mode and Armored Core-style customisation. Requires you know how to read JP though.Udo Kumen Hen on PSX is divisive, it's not very long and has an extremely steep learning curve, it's also slow-paced. Personally I like it a lot, I recommend it if you enjoy high-difficulty games that require you to master the controls. Presentation is top notch. Again, requires knowledge of JP.Koutetsu no Gunzei is a strategy game in the same vein as Front Mission, only played the first stage of it but it seems alright. Extremely text-heavy.Lightning Slash might be the best of the PSX action games after BBS, purely Armored Core-style arena fighter with multiple opponents. Haven't played this one yet.
>>22574362The first original release goes into unexpected territory and makes you very confused if you try and do it chronologically instead of release order.
Post ATs
>>22584759k
>>22585103Man this one looks funky
Why is chronological order bad? Do people not understand what that means?
>>22586763Why do we have to suffer your retardation? The story isn't told in chronological order. Viewing it in that way ruins everything about the narrative. Fuck off.
>>22586764>retardationIts a genuine question. How does watching in order of events ruin the narrative?
Stop trolling and get a life.
