Trijicon RMR vs SRO. Either or will be mounted on top my Elcan. I know some k-iggers in here went with the Aimpoint T2, but would like some insight on the RMR HD or the SRO.The RMR (type 2 and HD) seems to be more “combat” oriented. The HD with the adaptive lighting reticle looks to have good user reviews. People are unironically using SRO’s on their M4/carbines where they appreciate the larger window. Regarding ruggedness, Jagerworks B.R.O.S. makes an aluminum shroud that can be picked up at a later date (if they decide to make them again).

For indoor use I find the top mounted dot to be more comfortable than the 1.5 height elcan 1x but that's a pretty niche use case and we're kind of majoring in the minors here. The top mount is definitely useful beyond just night vision passive aiming so sure, go for it. It's always nice to have options and it's not really giving a significant weight penalty to get it.
