In the book which is obviously entirely based on one side, Prince blamed several things.
He said the State department assigned impossible tasks and NDA’s made it so that they could not publicly contest accusations nor have things like dash cams. Partisan politics hated the war in Iraq and needed to assign blame when you can’t criticize the military. Military contracting was a controversial subject like how when space travel was contracted out to SpaceX, now both are very normal and publicly known things. Also once Saddam was defeated one of the first policies implemented was to disband the Iraqi military, so you now have ~375,000 pissed off jobless soldiers with a bunch of spare time and a stockpile of weapons that went everywhere once they knew they were gonna lose the war, turning Iraq into an IED filled hell hole that was going to have its own plans. All of which seems to check out.
My question is, were there shit decisions made from Backwater’s leadership/business choices that could have resulted in a better outcome for them or was the 2003 invasion, and all the butterfly effects that went along with it, make it impossible for anyone to be seriously involved in any significant way and come out unscathed reputation wise?

While the policy to bar former iraqi soldiers/politicians from running and taking jobs was retarded, blackwater was even more retarded. The military themselves hated them for being assholes and being the reason to why many iraqis have disdained towards American troops. They also like to cause trouble within the military. Aside from that, their downfall was primarily the lack of control of what their personnel does out in the open. They got enough flak to the point of rebranding multiple times.

Holy delulu Batman.
PmCs had the easiest fucking jobs in Iraq AT ALL TIMES, nobody ever banned cameras, only release of video or audio without approval, what a lying whiny shit head.
Blackwater put unready hopped up grease balls on duty without any kind of accountability or leadership and tried to cover it up when they chilled out.
Which they did on the regular.
Remember Fallujah? Guess why that whole shitshow started... That's right, Blackwater fuck stains where raping women, shooting men and boys and robbing locals until they cracked and started an insurgency.
FALLUJAH NEVER WOULD HAVE HAPPENED without Erik 'I am an Epstein global elite' Prince and his assholes on parade.

blackwater was involved in MAJOR theft of ordinance from bragg from 03-06. intl organized crime, mass grave in johnsonville near their offices in cameron, and lots of drugs too.

A lot of it got hushyhushied but there are lots of reports at the time that paint the picture. Start reading news about Fallujah mid-2003 and you'll get the idea.

Yea, it also caused the iraqis to mistake blackwater for American troops. Most atrocities in iraq weren't committed by American troops, but by security contractors, insurgents being dickheads and iraqi security forces.

Prince fancies himself as a soldier of fortune but military people loathe him for carpetbagging into wars and trying to pitch plans to let him take the wheel. The problem is that he hasn't seen a concrete wall he didn't drive directly into at high speed. He's also extremely litigious and threatens to sue journalists all the time for blowing his harebrained schemes.

Is there anything, and I mean ANYTHING, more embarrassing than being a modern "private military contractor"? Larping as a modern day mercenaries while failing at almost every single contract that has ever been given to them besides some rare examples (Executive outcomes, and even they disbanded), whether it be niggwater or fagner they've all been raped bitches in actual warfare. Erik Prince is also a huge faggot who isn't even respected in the industry he's most known for, taking anything he says into consideration is a retarded move from the get-go.

>>
>>61449751
Yea, most likely them. The CIA prioritizes stuff overseas. They don't want to get into domestic stuff that much because it conflicts with the jurisdiction of the FBI. Aside from that, whenever someone sees "CIA goon squads" in the middle east or in america, they are likely just mercs with no affiliation with intelligence/federal agencies.
>>
>>61450288
Yesn't. Its up to the local/state/federal governments to give them permission to act as law enforcement. Sometimes they have no choice but to hire them because they pack personnel on their end. Blackwater got successful and big at one point because the DOD's desperation in wanting manpower as soon as they can. If they are guarding private/government buildings, though, its pretty much freegame for them within the designated area depending on their contracts.

This is a gross oversimplification. If the veteran isn't retarded, they can conceptualize the different context. Combat veterans in particular can actually be an asset as they're acclimated to situations way more stressful than beat cops face. But that's provided they aren't mentally ill from their service. It just requires vetting.

Anecdotally, one time while overseas as a contractor, I was working alongside a National Guard infantryman at an ECP. I asked him what he would do if a person there was a BOLO for tried to access the gate. The guy's response was very rational, especially considering what the BOLO was for (terrorist shit). He said that since they already had a rapport, he'd just stall him until ERT arrived and they could collectively make an arrest. I wholly expected for this dude to say that he'd draw down on the guy and order him out of the vehicle. Maybe even with his 240 instead of his handgun. My point is that being a soldier doesn't make you into an inherently violent person and incapable of discretion.

The answer to your question is: Prince was and is a complete idiot. After Blackwater he went on to set up Reflex Responses to provide a clandestine force comprised of foreign mercenaries for the UAE. The whole thing collapsed due to him self-dealing and embezzling massively, as well as chasing publicity for a part of his venture running operations in Somalia, which was supposed to stay largely hidden from the public eye.

He had the ear of bin Zayed, the crown prince. He had as close to a blank check as can be, and all he did with it was fool around Africa and try to get on War Stories with Oliver North, while stealing tens of millions of dollars in the most flagrant ways possible, as if his goal was to beat the world record in antagonizing one's employer.

The short answer: there were no possible decisions that would've led to a good outcome for Blackwater, because the company was run by a leader that was PHYSICALLY INCAPABLE of making good decisions.

And if that wasn't stupid enough, he made his way into Trump's inner circle during his term... and later tried to get into business with Wagner. Which was, you know, placed under sanctions by the Trump admin in 2017. Which means dealing with them is VERY criminal. In addition to them being, at the time, a deniable russian military asset and a basket case of some of the worst war crimes of the period. Oh, how time flies...

And I haven't even touched on his other adventures as chairman of Frontier Services Group (mostly owned by THE CHINESE GOVERNMENT), which I won't be elaborating on here - let's just say they're on a similar level of retardation.

Fagner WAS a real mercenary organization. It's just that in practice that means they're a fucked up paramilitary criminal organization so people don't like to think that.

Wagner also tried to paint themselves heavily as legal professional modern PMCs exactly like Blackwater which is hilarious given that one of the biggest problems Blackwater had was Erik Prince acting all edgy and making his company out to be mercenaries.

Now that I've tried to look it up I can't find the source anymore. The cultural reason for dedovshchina is what you said. But movies with abuse of recruits earned a cult status among the younger generations that kept the tradition going despite having nothing to do with gulags.
But the fact that I can't find the exact quotes linking FMJ to the phenomenon I can't be sure I didn't get my wires crossed somewhere.
>>
>>61455480
you sure?
i think it's more a thing of the russian prison culture and how within the russian mafia came to be and savage rape activities are simply the norm. something that was way more lowkey during soviet time since they still had the underlying influence from communist ideas that've been doctrinized by the education system and every day life which had a sort of restraining effect on the russian subhumanity, but once the kremlin got taken over by culturally bankrupt silovarchs it went downhill and the russian pidoration became a zombified version of itself. all the filth and subhumanity that was repressed or kept under the rug by the ideological boot before was unleashed and suddenly you had horror stories of tons of assrape and abuse in the army and other based and trad russoid degeneracy
>>
>>61441375
Paul Bremmer is a fucking retard.

Totally disbanding the Iraqi military and going on an extensive policy of purging was also fucking retarded

That being said privatizing diplomatic security and creating a "need" for Blackwater was ALSO retarded.

Government mismanagement caused the Iraqi civil war which coalition forces were basically in the middle of but Blackwater did not help anything and in many cases made it actively worse.
>>
>>61456440
>>61456371

I didn't mean movies created dedovshchina, just that it inspired younger generations even though they had never been to prison.
I've been looking for it and so far I could find an old Vice article that was called Full Metal Torture but doesn't mention movies. I'm afraid that I might have read it on twatter (aka unsourced bullshit) but because of the Vice article I got my wires crossed and the belief gained legitimacy.

I used to know some militia guys who styled themselves like an elite Ranger team. They were all neverserveds with no cardio and their idea of training was sitting around a campsite talking shit for two days with a single quarter mile "patrol" to the spot they plinked at cans. Every single one of them was an egotistical knowitall that fantasized about how everyone would flock to them for help when the New World Order tried to seize power. One of them had been doing this non-training routine for so many years he regularly said he was "basically a veteran". Last I saw they had gone all in on being Threepers.

The big problem is retraining behavior away from soldier response to police response. As much as we meme on acorn lad, part of the problem was that he fell right back into Army training on response to a perceived hostile act instead of being able to handle the situation like a cop.

>>
>>61464236
Acorn lad should be in jail. And would be if he wasn't a pig thin blue line gang member. Someone in the general public who did what he did would get arrested for recklessly endangering everyone around over nothing. Former military with PTSD or no. But since he's a pig he'll be allowed to quietly resign and work for the next closest city or county.
>>
>>61464236
>away from soldier response to police response.
USA cops are far far far worse than soldiers on their training and gun reactions. No soldier would have reacted that way unless he was actually in a hot zone on a mission. cops react like that because they've been brainwashed into pantspissing fear at all times

>They don't have to join the military to get good cardio. I don't get why militias in america let themselves be fat and have bad cardio. If you want to be a successful group, you need to have good fitness standards.

I think there's two types of militias. The first is the glorified gun club, they do a lot of advertising on social media, openly say edgy shit, talk to reporters, and of course have little to no recruiting standards.

Then there's the militia that doesn't advertise itself or talk to reporters, these are the guys who likely have some sort of fitness standards because they actually expect to fight a war someday.

One of the things I have trouble with is telling the difference between a mercenary and a PMC. Executive Outcomes would get paid to guard a gold mine in Sierra Leone, that was when they weren't getting hired by the government to destroy the rebels for a few million dollars, and then they went out and did that. That seems to be what a mercenary really is. But most people described as mercenaries are not really mercenaries, they're security guards.

>>61457218
>>61466293
>>61464849
It seems like the goofier and up-in-the-clouds militias get, it's because what they're doing has turned into more of an ideological abstraction. Like, you can say "form a militia" but that begs the question, "well, forming a militia to do what? What's the goal?" If the answer is "overthrow the gubmint" or "resist the NWO" (somehow, at some indeterminate future date) then you might need to narrow down the focus a bit. Mainly, you've got to ask "what do I *do* here?" Realistically this kind of thing seems better suited towards a kind of civil defense corps that can do other things with a heavy logistics / medical focus. Doesn't mean you can't run around inna woods with guns but it seems like it'd make more sense for that to be just one of the bulletpoints within the totality of the situation.
>>
>>61441375
…who the hell in the government even thought it was a good idea to hire PMCs in the first place? When we already have the worlds greatest military and Iraq cracked in like 2 weeks? This was just asking for problems

Because they couldn't be able to fill in the personnel required to do rear security and logistics. Even though we took over iraq, the amount of personnel needed to maintain operations there was severely underestimated. I think the minimal personnel to take over iraq was 300-500k soldiers, but bush(or someonelse) decided 100k was enough. Even though it wasn't in terms of logistical and rear support. Hiring PMCs was a stop gap measure to fix the personnel problems.
>>
>>61469668
Ah man now only we didn't fire the entire Iraqi military
Maybe there would have been more people that could have provided security
>>
>>61469742
Believe me I’m no simp for just how bumfuck the US Government is but…there may have been legitimate concern about the fact that they were Opfor literally a month prior.
None of these shithole countries have a Constitution or any higher order of ideals to be loyal to, but the fact that the invading country is non-Muslim poses an extreme risk imo.
>>
>>61469742
There was literally no real plan for iraq post saddam, other than, invade, do a quick regime change, make sure the right companies get access to iraqi oil, get out. Bush didn't even know the difference between sunni and shia, much less the conflict removing saddam's brutal security services and paramilitaries would unleash. They didn't think about needing to *build* a state afterwards, until someone pointed out that during saddam's rule, the ba'ath party had during saddam's rule expanded to fill the entire government, top to bottom, and literally the whole iraqi state, despite saddam's removal, was being run by "loyalists" (this is just the american perception of it, the reality is that most of these folks were party members simply because it was required for them to get into any positions power). Debaathification was a kneejerk reaction to that realisation, and it went much further than just kicking the military out onto the streets. It resulted in countless civil servants as well as the iraqi police force being shown the door, with predictable results: the collapse of societal order and rule of law.

Debaathification meant that not only were the military and the paramilitaries not available for putting down the various armed groups popping up all over amidst the general lawlessness, but they also served to rapidly and massively ramp up the violence as the mostly shia enlisted went into the shia armed groups with their own axes to grind with the previously privileged sunni, while the predominantly sunni officers and paramilitaries joined up with and organized sunni groups, one of which would later be known as ISIS. And of course they all also looted their armories on their way out.

The amount of troops the US could've deployed would not have been enough to bring back order. Things only really quieted down once iraq had something resembling an effective military and police force of its own in place, and the situation remains shaky to this day.

Nigger the dedovschina or whatever was even worse in the USSR times. The real peak of it though was the 1990s but everything was worse then. The Putin era dedovschina is actually THE LOWEST LEVEL its been on! Keep this in mind.
>>
>>61462957
>>61463990
This is probably the right time for you newfag retards to discover the obvious fact: PMCs and merc ARE glowniggers. Mike Hoare and 5th Commando even had planes piloted by Cuban exiles supplied to him by the CIA and the French mercs from the same time period (much more competent than any of the British-lead units) were all basically recruited and paid for by French intelligence.

Under the retarded, meme meaning of glownigger (the only one that exists) that makes them more glowniggers than instagram thots in uniform or the glorified DMV employees that are many FBI agents.
>>
>>61469576
You know the difference enough, there's also the fact that mercs are illegal and usually working directly and under command and leadership of a state, government or formal military force or another separate paramilitary organization.

PMCs are, for starters, actual private corporations with everything that entails in terms of law and bureocracy and taxes.
>>
>>61479328
Any sources on soviet times dedovschina? Was it also full of subhuman rape and such?
I've only knew of cases from the 90s and 00s. I guess pre-collapse horror stories that used to be glanced over before got spread further via the internet and the fall of the iron curtain so people assume the type of violence is something relatively new.
>>
>>61479461
There's this series of books made by a former GRU officer that came out in the 1980s. It's mostly analysing the Cold War era USSR military forces. Dedovschina is described several times, he especially talks about how recruits and conscripts would just get everything issued or given to them looted and stolen from them during their whole service, usually through very real threats of violence.

His name was Viktor Suvorov now that I remember. Also why the fuck is the IP counter not back yet?

Incidents of hazing in the army during 2019 have increased. 51,000 human rights violations and 1,521 sexual assault cases.[40] In the same year, Ramil Shamsutdinov shot 10 of his colleagues at a Gorny military base, 8 of them fatally. And increase recorded in 2019 has to be contextualized.
The same link says that the Russian military records hid Dedovshchina deaths by filing them as suicide, so even back in the 2000s we didn't know how bad the problem was.
If 2019 had more abuse than 2018, but 2018 is a walk in the park compared to the 1990s when everything was swept under the rug, that's not very useful.

Not only did they have former military experience before getting into PS, they also got to spend more time at the range than an average infantryman and lifting weights is common during downtime.
There's not a lot to do in the places that typically require security work, and the gym has AC.

https://yandex.com/search/?text=citizen%27s+arrest&lr=20765&search_source=yacom_desktop_common
TLDR?

Basically any asshole can claim he saw any other asshole "commit a misdemeanor in my presence" and physically Arrest them, including ANY "reasonable force" to prevent them escaping.
That includes shit like Malls hiring goons (mostly off duty cops but can be anyone) to Physically Arrest (cuff and stuff into private security vehicle) people like guys alone smoking a joint at a nearby bus stop on a public sidewalk (I've know two cases).

butt, butt....what if its some perv making shit up so he can handcuff some girl and shove her into his car??? Official answer is "That would be up to the Courts to determine if it was a legal arrest". :)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shomrim_(neighborhood_watch_group)
I've worked with (non-Jew) private Security also LARPing as Bad Cops. Legal trick is if you are alone and there are two or more of them, the Courts are required to go with "two testimony beats one" as to who hit who first, etc. And the same two goons can show up with that same line unlimited times, and each case is "brand new".

Oh, and of course once a CA is done, they are also authorized to take any weapons into custody, and of course 2 to 1 as to whether the weapons were taken or stolen or were present.

This "2 to 1" is also why Mafia, Unions, biker gangs, Mex gangs will have a rule that you always go with at least two goons when "representing the group" to an outsider.
>>

>Because they couldn't be able to fill in the personnel required to do rear security and logistics
Bullshit, there are literally like about 10 fucking million various reservists, NG, recent Vets, etc that could've been very quickly signed back the fuck up into the ranks, and be perfectly fine for "rear security and logistics". And would be a lot less confusing and better Command and Control and everyone (including Iraqis) understanding what everyone's role is.

Blackwater, etc was about NWO setting precedents.
>>
>>61479243
IIRC in CA cops need to be "certified" which is a One Year Training (like joining biker gang LOL), which keeps supply of cops low and wages high.

Yes, the One Year is to ensure the Prospect is fully on board with Blue Wall of Silence, going after citizens for chicken-shit shit, etc.

Buddy, calling up all those people would have been MASSIVELY unpopular and expensive with no guarantee they'd behave any better than Blackwater.
You missed how the Rumsfeld era cuts meant to trim the fat and bloat severely undersized the military, while not solving issues with budgeting.
>Blackwater, etc was about NWO setting precedents.
How the fuck does that work? When the NWO shows up with their goons the cops are gonna stop them, and they say "do not worry I have a precedent" and they just let them through? Blackwater and Erik Prince essentially tarnished the image of PMCs. If the NWO wants to roll through you streets with hired mercs, they don't need any fucking precedent you tard. They'd just do it.
Why the fuck would the all-powerful conspiratorial organization obey any weird rules?

Politic retardation and extremely poorly planned reconstruction is basically the answer for everything that went wrong in Iraq.

Paul Bremer unironically said to the CPA governors of Iraq "it's not our job to fix the Iraqi economy" as if having like 50% of young men unemployment wasn't going to bite them in the ass.

>>61441456

Former ba'athists and military officers being banned wasn't strictly true. Although Baghdad opposed it the ultimate authority was with the provincial authorities.

The best police chief post-2003 Amarah ever had was a former S4 logistics officer in Iraqi Special Forces who went AWOL, a former Iranian IRGC officer and a commandant in the Iranian backed Shia Badr Brigade.
>>
>>61486910

Also the deputy police chief Brigadier General Sabih was a literal ba'athist
>>
>>61486406
Its more of a pain to call up those reservists, who likely is not caught up with training against insurgents. Blackwater made it easy to fill in the gaps in personnel shortages very quickly while also removing liabilities incase those people get injured/killed or does something retarded. The government contracting PMCs was a way for them to fill up any rear end security and logistical support that the military has in some areas. The military wanted a quick solution for that kind of problem.

It either has started to do work again but in very low profile manner, as media attention got it shut down. Or its gone nowhere and is at best training soldiers and consulting in a small way. Though a very interesting man who has a wealth of knowledge.
