Raspberry Pi 3b 1gb and 4b 4gb. Is there anything that these can actually be used for or are they garbage?
>>100198714You could make a little file storage server for your home with them.Realistically these are never worth anything more than what you're willing to invest in them. If you don't have a use before you buy, you probably won't have one afterwards.I'll buy them from you for 5 bucks each.randell.wrigley@dockerbike.com
>>100198714Give them to me if you think they are garbage. What kind of question is this? Don't tell me you don't know how to code in assembly/logic gate?
>>100198714I use one to host an offsite backup at my parents' house. It's slow, the backup "drive" is a thumbdrive, but it works, so good enough
>>100198751Cool spam email bro.
>>100198714they still do everything they did when you bought them if they are useless to you nowadays they were always useless for you
bruh give them to me
>>100198714Op here, is pi hole still a thing? Does it work?
>>100198975Like hell I'm posting my real email here
>>100199014everyone replaced pi-hole with adguard home cause it's better in every waypi-hole doesn't seem to be able to keep up
>>100199049you shouldn't just post it raw like that, you should instead post a pastebin or something similar
>>100199117It's bait
>>100198714Install dietpi, lxde or lxqt it's fast on the rpi4
>>100199049I'll get you next time, Randall.
>>100199117Good idea, thanks, but while that would protect me from ending up in the archive, I wouldn't want to show my cards to anons here. All it takes is one motivated anon to fuck my real email forever.>>100199352I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you meddling kids!
>>100199339>lxqt it's fast on the rpi4lmaono it's notnothing QT is fast on these
if I had one right now, I'd plug my hdd into it and run jellyfin off of ita next step would be turning it into a NAS
>>100199050>everyone replaced pi-hole with adguard home cause it's better in every waySauce?
>>100199050nobody with half a brain uses either, we just have a hosts file on our router, no retarded shit and did it with 32mb of ram.
>>100199420Anon... nothing to hide nothing to fear. What are you? A pedophile? Post your email already.
>>100198714i'd argue even the new raspberry pies are useless.you can get mini PCs with better specs for the same price, as well as breakout GPIO boards.
>>100199740but raspberry pis are still good for beginners, right? asking because im gonna get one soon to run a server or something
>>100199626>What are you? A pedophile?Yes
>>100199626yasovkolisnyk1988@gmail.com
>>100198714shove em up your ass
>>100198751>RandellAre you negro?
B1 works fine as an octoprint server i had to block mine from the wan cause those niggers like to break shit with constant fucking updates nagging you
>>100199786yes they good as a cheap second computer since most wintards are addicted to windows and cant live without it this way you have a toy computer to break and small sdcards that are easily backed up
I use one as a print server for my laser printer with no network connection. I only turn it on when I want to print something.
>>100198714>(Jamal) "found" these in a shoebox when "cleaning". Are they even relevant anymore? Not for you, give them back.
>>100198714>PiHole for DNS adblocking>OpenMediaVault for small NAS>RetroPi for old games>Plex for streamingI have 3 of them myself and having Pihole is nice to have on my wifi. OMV is great too.
>>100199500Nope.I have a RPI 4B 8GB running Gentoo with LXQt. Admittedly it's on a SATA3-over-USB3 SSD, but encrypted so it's not as fast as it can be. It's so fast that I can play games and watch movies without issues. The only things that are ever slow on it is Firefox, Thundebird and Chromium.
>>100198973replace the thumbdrive regularly or you will be better off just doing M disk. those thumb drives suck shit and are not meant to last long, they are designed around file transport over a short time.
>>100198714I currently have 7 Raspberry in use. Unluckily for you, you missed the window of opportunity to sell them at 200% markup during the covid era. Now they're not worth much any longer because 5 is out.
>>100198714MotionEyeOSI still run a few rpi3's as security camera's stable as fuck for over 5y
>>100198714hook up a HDD and use it as NAS
>>100198714$150 easy
>>100198714They were initially intended for tinkerers. People who want to build shit using GPIO. They are now mainstream and mainstream users want the tinkerers to pre-roll solutions for them. That's not what they are for. They are for YOU to make shit with. Go fucking make something.
>>100198751>5 bucks eachI"ll do $6 each.
>>100200784im gonna install gentoo on it
>>100198714I have one in my pc case that runs a small screen to monitor the pcs temps etc when it's running and also runs a pihole and shares a hard drive when the pc is off and a few other services like a torrent client and a music server etc, it's like a tiny little mini home server and it's been reliable as fuck for years and just h
I have an orange pi 3 zero but I don't know what to do with it, I thought I would use it as a Nas but it keeps crashing for no reason. I don't like retro games so it's just a paperweight
