Can anyone explain to me how Ebay works? Why are people paying more for inferior, used graphics cards?

ebay

>3080 ti
>card from 2021
>last gen
>used
>could've been mined on 24/7 for the last 3 years
>warranty is probably expired
>$600 + $30 shipping

an actual store

>4070 super
>latest gen card
>brand new
>never been mined on
>full warranty
>less power draw
>same perf or better
>same amount of vram
>frame gen
>smaller footprint
>$600

There has to be a reason. Why would anyone pay more for a clapped out mining card when they can get the same performance, lower power draw, and more technology with frame generation in a brand new card from an actual store with a warranty?

Make it make sense.

free market innit?

It's easy to get caught up in those fucking bidding wars and think you "won".

Also eBay prices are completely out of line with reality.

Last I checked there were STILL people trying to scalp PS5s.

It's not just eBay. My local craigslist clone also has a billion guys trying to upsell their stinky old electronics for 250% market value.

>stop haggling, I know what I got trololo

I wish I could post some examples without doxxing myself.

fuck man, preach. Motherfuckers drop some i5 2500 with gtx1650 and 8gb ram and 256gb sata ssd and go like "COMPETITIVE GAMING MACHINE, TOP TIER HARDWARE - 1220$, No hagglers!"
>>
>>100133342
Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace are pretty bad.

ULTIMATE GAMER PC
riced out RGB case (only new component too fool the normies)
i7 (doesn't specific the generation, probably a 6700)
16 GB of RAM (doesn't specify the speed)
GTX 1060 Ti
1 TB (old clunker western digital hdd)
250 GB ssd

$3000, no lowballs, I know what I have

This used UPS is being offered at a steal of $160. The included battery has only been in constant use since 2021 so it's basically brand new. Amazon dares to ask $170 including shipping. What do? Help me out here /g/.

I wouldn’t be surprised if you bought a 3080 ti and got drugs instead. If a rando does purchase it, he gets a shit card. If a druggie purchases it then they all win
>>
>>100133525
imagine paying for a housefire
>>
>>100133525
Batteries in good UPS get replaced like 6-8 each month. You are buying a dead UPS with a battery that already runs for years and has probably no perfomance left anymore
>>
>>100133216
I don't ever want to buy something that expensive without a warranty.

I was being sarcastic.

thanks, i am an autist though
>>
So where do I buy used hardware that's actually cheaper?
>>
are you seriously comparing MSI 3080 Ti with some Galax 4070

>San Tan Valley, Arizona

Literal middle of the desert cartel stash house. These Mexican jumping beans don't even use a different address lol. Zero fucks given.

People can list shit at whatever price they want.
You need to look at completed listings to see what things are actually selling for
>>

Almost me
Ryzen 1700x
GTX 1060 3gb
32gb ram
256gb SSD for boot
2tb western blue for programs/files
2x 1tb western blacks for video/photo editing
256gb SSD for video capture
Hot swap bay for 2.5in and 3.5in drives

I just wish these sites would have a feature to set a realistic threshold for each item and hide it from future searches until the price drops below the threshold. My stupid monkey brain keeps clicking on the same scams over and over again because they all use stock images.
>>
>>100133216
Typically 3rd worlders don't have good access to Amazon or other online services so they have to resort to eBay to get their items. It's the reason why you also so see dumbasses paying waaay over MSRP for used steam decks.

>are you seriously comparing a chinkshit 3080 Ti with some other chinkshit 4070

yes

Hey everyone. This guy actually has a preference on which chinkshit label they put on his chinkshit card that was made by the same chinkshit child in the same chinkshit sweatshop. He doesn't know that all these chinkshit cards are all made in the same factory on the same line as their "competitors" lol. He actually thinks anything on this card matters beyond the chip inside.

Everyone point and laugh.

You don't buy last gen used, you buy 3 or 4 gens old used. Thats when the deals actually start.
