I'm TRYNA design a new Tiktok type-a site. It's hard to come up with an attractive layout. Youtube is just plain white with thumbnails and text on it. Same with Tiktak. What, they couldnt afford CSS?
The attraction is the thumbnail that they need you to click. Doing anything beyond a blank canvas is just a waste and probably confusing. What's your goals with your site?

A non-existent, empty design gives way to the thumbnail aka content created by users. Anything else might take attention away from itBut if you think like this, you're already abusing and raping your user's psychology to get more money and data from them.>What's your goals with your site?Give humanity an alternative that doesnt collect behavioral data, or use dark patterns to keep the user on the site for longer than necessary. This is a good thing. But there's one problem: people kind of demand the drugs that big tech gives them. People want to be addicted.
>>100130102>>100130758Well, there is a certain degree of hype around the "neubrutalism" aesthetic meme.https://aesthetics.fandom.com/wiki/NeubrutalismSome people believe it will be the next big thing after the current era of Flat design. You can see more and more people mentioning neubrutalism, so there is a potential for getting early adopters just on the aesthetic alone but you will have to offer something else to make people feel like they are part a new thing.Maybe avoiding the chaotic colors at first, just incorporating the thick outlines (one of the main aspects of neubrutalism) could get you interesting ideas. Here are a few examples of pages that implemented that style:https://www.budapestpark.hu/enhttps://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/family/https://gumroad.com/
