What went wrong?
>>
People look ridiculous wearing them. Apple is basically a fashion brand, so that's a complete no-no for an Apple product.
>>
>>100127772
>try it
>not bad
>ok what can i use it for?
>uhhhh
>collects dust forever
many such cases for the consoomer goys, cant imagine spending 3.5k for this trash lmao
>>

I've been using AR glasses for 2 years. It's not even the lack of apps or anything, just that its bulky and anything on your face needs to be light.
Your eye glasses are between 20 and 40g. These things are like 700g. The only reason you wear something heavy is that there's good incentive, like for VR vidyage. Even then its not worth it
>>
>>100127772
It doesn't do the one thing that people who would drop $4k on VR goggles wanted it to do- simulate having multiple, giant monitors. An apparently, even if they'd overcome that hurdle there were still ergonomic issues with it.
>>
>>100127797
I imagine it's useful for welding and grinding as eye protection
>>

>Things went right.
>Anon ask what went wrong.
It looks like your brain is what went wrong kiddo'.
>>
>>100127772
A dev kit pitched to consoomer retards because Apple wanted their whales to gobble it up to soak up the R&D costs.
>>
>>100128070
The only people who love VR are the people who fly pretend planes and drive pretend cars. They have the money to spend on this, but nobody can make a good product to sell to them. Fucking Facebook has the best hardware/software suite for VR for reliability, ease of use, and price point. My fake steering wheel cost more than the vision pro, there is a market, we are just ignored.
>>
>>100127797
It's so fucking stupid. It's a Macintosh with extra peripherals but they locked it down like an iPhone/Television.
Apple is cooked.
>>
>>100127772
anyone who buys this is retarded anyways and it seems they are running out of retards with money
imagine walking around with $3500 that can be stolen so easily. tyrone must love these fucking things
>>
>>100129338
>Imagine being so poor you can't afford to give some poor underprivileged people of color a $3500 helping hand when they need it.
>t. Wokist hypocritical fucktard
>>

My Quest 3 just werks

It was just a marketing tool mandated by shareholders, its success as a product was optional. This can be seen when you observe the shape (marketing prop goggles instead of learning from existing products on the market) and the compatibility (basically incompatible with most VR).
The goal was to attempt to further shape the marketing archetype of the black consoomer who purchases social signalling luxury goods on payment plans or credit.
>>100129338
>Tyrone must love these fucking things
That is the entire point.
>>100128089
>Plastic exterior laminate
>Welding or grinding
Nope.
>>100129036
Good luck convincing the shareholders of anything other than the potential of being on the ground floor of the next phone app store.
>>
It's a vr headset (small market)
It's a vr headset pretending to not be a vr headset (smaller market)
>>
>>100129494
>The goal wasn't to make a profit anyways
Cope
>>
>>100129521
If my supposition is anything other than schizophrenic babble then it can still fail at its ulterior goals since they're pretty stupid, but profit can be acquired beyond the success of one product or company.
>>
>$3,500 device for consuming goyslop

should have come with sideloading. but apple thinks it's customers are morons. and they're right.
>>
>>100128908
it's not even a secret - that is why the price is high. it's a new product category and they needed it in the hands of users who would figure out how best to use it. People acting otherwise are retards.

I'm quite sure the intention has always been to develop the system for about two years then release a >$1500 lighter, smaller version targeted at actual users.
>>
>>100127772
it's shit.
that's it.
>>
>>100130813
Has anyone figured out an use for it yet?
VR has been available to consumers for 30 years, the latest VR revolution started over a decade ago with the Oculus. Yet there's still fuck all to do in VR that you're not better off enjoying on some other medium.
As a monitor replacement they're a dead end as always, Sony makes a new personal theater HMD every 10 years for the last 30 years and failed every single time.
As a porn machine they've kinda succeeded but the headset makers aren't willing to embrace that market head on.
As a fitness device they're semi-succesful? Fitness is a significant chunk of the VR market but at the same time VR is an absolutely tiny chunk of the fitness market, like within the margin of error.
For general purpose gaming VR is well and truly dead. Nobody wants to play hours upon hours in VR everyday and no developers want to invest the money required to make half-decent VR experiences when there's no market for it.
For business use and for general purpose computing VR is a complete non-starter due to accessibility issues and general compatibility problems with a significant chunk of the human population.

>apple got 5000 patents to dominate the space when the time is right for real AR.
>launches a device so devs have good hardware to create the apps of tomorrow
>everyone complains and calls apple retarded
