Should I switch to Ubuntu from Mint? Everytime I try to download a new software, it doesn’t support mint. It only shows at max 3 distros ubuntu, fedora and Debian.

Install Ubuntu and be happy with your life. This is the distro which is supported by all platforms.

welcome to linux new friend, assuming you are new here. you can just build any software from source, it sounds complicated at first but it is as far as downloading the source code and tiping CMAKE in terminal or something (follow build instructions)
