Why would anyone want to drag and drop files though
Before I used Gnome, I used many tiling WMs. I don't want or need a Systray or Desktop icons, and I launch my binaries from command-line. I also never did drag-and-drop to extract files. I like Gnome's keyboard focused design. Maybe you have to accept that there are users like me out there. If you cannot move on from the Windows UI design, then there are other choices like XFCE or KDE. I like Gnome, I don't need more.
