RIP - One of the most amazing OSes ever written
>>100122986Haiku is wonderful.
>>100122986I really like SerentiyOS. It seems to have more momentum than Haiku. But haiku seems really nice
>>100122986Just use Haiku, the current version of BeOS
>>100122986How beos would be better than mac os x for a mac os 9 replacement?
>>100122986you are a niggernigger, niggernigger indeednigger nigger, nigger- a haiku (author unknown)
>>100122986Does this shit even run on virtualbox? I keep trying to make it run and it just crashes during boot.
>>100123109Last I checked most of the momentum on Serenity itself fizzled out and has mostly been on Ladybird.
>>100126130you need vmware workstation
>>100122986>>100122999>>100123109>>100125866what's the use case?
>>100126499
>>100126499Flagship OS for the CDE desktop
>>100128401Sorry I thought this was the OpenVMS thread
>>100126499Please, don't comment if you have nothing useful to say.
I wanted to use Haiku as the primary OS on my old laptop for funzies.Got filtered by the lack of hw support for my trackpad. Is it better yet, bros?note: old is strictly in reference to how long I've owned it, it's a relatively new gayming laptop. Zephyrus G14
I'd consider trying to use Haiku for my streamingmachine, since i travel alot recently i got a used netbook which purpose is only to run some movies on netflix. How well does Haiku into multimedia?
>>100122986o7>>100122999I wanted to give it a shot in a VM, but unfortunately it just didn't work. I'll have to give it another shot
>>100122999>>100129482I have it in a VM for funsies. I used QEMU/KVM and it works fine. Never tried Virtualbox or anything though.
>>100131128I'll have to try it in QEMU instead of vbox next time then
>>100122986What was so good about it? Tell me about that.
>>100132338It was fast, booted in like 10 seconds on a P3.Apple was considering it in the late 90s, but got Steve Jobs instead.
>>100126499general computing same as any other OS
>>100122986God I love 90s icons and aesthetics. Where the fuck did UI design go wrong?
>>100126499Making YOU seethe.
>>100132442all because the BeOS CEO was a retard and asked for far too much money to sell to Appleworked out for the best though, NeXT/Objective-C were infinitely cooler and without Jobs back at Apple we'd probably all be living in some Microsoft-owned (Windows Mobile) hellscape
>>100133338somewhere around herewindows xp's default theme looked retarded as wellthen everybody rebelled against frutiger aero by going flat and minimal and nothing's recovered since. it's just rounder now
>>100135286er should be:>rebelled against win7/frutiger aero
