Then I got an espresso machine and enjoyed that for years but a few years ago I went to Costa Rica and the local coffee farmer showed me how they make their coffee and haven’t looked back. It’s like a whole different drink. French press, 10 grams of naturally dried light roast, medium rough freshly ground coffee, 150mL of real spring water at 93c/199f, steep for 200 seconds, then press. If there is no crema then the beans are too old. It tastes a lot less ‘roast-y’, more citrus and fruity, but the cafeine content will be as much if not more than a double shot of Italian espresso

I import a powdered coffee from columbia and just mix it into some water. The taste is nothing special, but a cup is usually enough to get me through a few days of work. The guy selling it said it was super pure, which I guess makes sense as it is so white; no idea how they roast it, but it seems to be so expensive that only well off politicians, the president, pop stars, etc. can afford it, so I feel lucky to have found a reliable supplier who seems real secretive about it. Some Aeropress filters fit in some Moka Pots if you don't like sediments, keep that in mind. >Pour OverIMO filters a lot of the coffee out, but it makes a nice, clean cup given you use some good beans.>KeurigUse a reusable K-Cup and grind your own beans, I've gotten decent coffee this way. Good if you don't have the time/dont care to do the coffee hobby shit.>French PressGood, but I havent gotten the technique down and I end up wasting so much coffee trying to figure it out so I dont care for it. Someone else can vouch for it.
>>2785624>Good, but I havent gotten the technique down and I end up wasting so much coffee trying to figure it out so I dont care for it. Someone else can vouch for it.Put grounds in, put hot water in, stir, sit 3 minutes, press slowly. Nothing to it. If you're not pouring all of it out at once and you're using a basic one, put the rest in a thermos so it doesn't keep steeping in the grounds.
>tfw cheap espresso machine got it's steamer pipe blocked from water calcium>tfw it comes close to exploding every time i make a cupI just boil the grounds and put them through a strainer. It's a pretty alright way to make coffee, it's still just as potent and it's quick to do. The only downside is there is a lot of particulate in the final cup
>>2773775>>2774004>>2772499You are one of the most retarded faggots I have ever seen on this godforsaken website and I've been here since 2005.>t. doesn't even consume caffeine
How fine do you have to filter to prevent that sludge at the bottom of the cup?
>>2786584For what method? Paper filter methods don't have that.
>>2770103agreed and for that i'll share my tech.gallon of whole milk put it in the freezer till rock solid. flip upside down and let it melt for 2 hours ambient temperature till you have enough to work with.use whatever coffee you have that is ideally fresh put it into a french press or some other filtering method one without paper. put it in the fridge let it sit over night.generic coffee pot? fine just use it because the next part is just you making hot coffee with either an autopot or a leverpress espresso machine.add all three together in portions that suit taste. 1 part freeze distilled milk2 parts cold brew 1 part espresso/coffeeif you can improve this let me know.
>>2787272This seems like wanking around, why not just use heavy cream?
>>2787353additives and its less sweet with more fat. i know it seems like a waste but there is a noticeable difference in taste.
>>2787554Heavy cream doesn't have additives, it's the richest part of raw milk that gets skimmed off and sold separately.Unless you're thinking of Creamer.
>>2770107>fresh ground beans+French press+water not too hot (I stop the kettle at a medium simmer).>nothing beats the simplicity and taste of the French press imo.I don't believe in "the perfect cup" but fresh ground w/ french press is for sure a solid way to make a solid cupAnother approach if you want a nice cup is to take the turkish coffee pill. It's a fun bit of kit and pretty easy to make altogether
>>2787769Most heavy cream I've seen in the last year or two have carrageenan or similar added, take that how you want.
>>2787769bust my balls or try it. all i know is by taste its different enough to have to mention it.
>>2770075Not caring is the secret. It's a drug; use it as such.
>>2770094/thread, shit in = shit out goes for any agricultural product
>>2770075
>>2770075it's all in the beans
>>2770075If you're really committed, taste test every coffee across the entire world and right down and take notes. Read books on the origin of coffee, coffee theory, and coffee dynamics. Then try EVERY brand of homemade DIY coffee trial and error for 10,000 hours.
>>2784621Your "espresso" maker can't make espresso. It runs at a similar pressure to a moka pot. I can't bitch beyond that, they do make good coffee. I'd call it on-par with a moka pot but potentially more convenient.
>>2787855>>carrageenanNah yeah you're right I hate how it's in everything. It's difficult to find non-ultra pasteurized cream in typical grocery stores.w8dyt
>>2787272At what temperature do you drink this?
The secret is recognizing your own beliefs on what taste good, and ignoring everyone else's options. For me that's supermarket beans I ground sometime this week, a ceramic v60 and 95 degree water. Its barely more demanding to make than instant at 7am, and taste consistently good , so it's a reliable part of morning routine to look forward too. Anyway I live in Australia so almost every cafe here will make you good espresso for a midday coffee.

>>2770108Too much weird ingredients in picrel
my secret is to never try anything other than cafe bustello and a moka pot so that i dont even know what good coffee tastes like and thus am contented with what i have
>>2770075The kind of coffe you'd get in a nice restaurant would be an espresso made with a Brikka Moka pot that is just like a regular Moka but uses less pressure to extact the coffee from the grains so the flavor is less bitter and leaves a nice creamy foam called cream
move the FUCK aside insecure manlets
>>2770075The secret to making good coffee is that you don't. Instead, you buy some kratom powder, fill a small cup with hot water, mix in the kratom, drink it fast over your tongue so you won't taste it. Then drink a chaser, anything you want, long as it has flavor to drown out the kratom flavor. A superior thing to coffee.
>>2791360>Instead of drinking something delicious and enjoyable, down a trendy drug so you can't taste it
I drink pour-over coffee made with folgers. No sugar, but I like a bit of half&half.
>>2791360Kratom is cocaine for hippies and queers.
>>2770075a non autistic answer>do not make coffee, which relies on freshness, with preground coffee that's been sitting in a warehouse for a few years >do not pour boiling water over coffee- I dont remember the retarded chemistry behind it but if the water is actually past 100˚C it does bad chemistry shit to the chemicals in the coffee bean material>do not use a modern or otherwise automated coffee makerI 100% guarantee that it is not clean inside, I don't care how much vinegar or your bull's cum you run through it- it is not clean in terms of bacteria and also the build up of gay frog minerals in the machine. Don't be a faggot and use a $5 pour over funnel >only use filtered water a cup of coffee is 99% water, if you use dog shit water you're going to wind up with dog shit coffee pic related is genuinely all you need, and you get the lead glaze for free. Anybody who thinks you need more is either deeply offended by anonymous words on an anime forum or are wannabe internet influencers who have something to gain personally or financially by convincing retards that you need complex machinery to make coffee We've been making tea for thousands of years now which thousands of years of technological development and technique refinement now amounts to "just fucking put the tea in hot water whats the problem" Coffee is the same but, again, preground coffee goes bad MUCH faster than tea so coffee teabags aren't feasible but do exist
>>2770075Coffee brewing involves three things. Water temp, grind fineness, and extraction time. What you need of each factor depends on your brew method.
>>2770085hot water, ground coffee, filter(optional) yall are making it to complex
>>2770075Since nobody gave the correct answer, it's this: don't over heat it. Simple as.
>>2770075every one know ignores the one first most important factor. START WITH GOOD CLEAN PURE WATER.so many people just use straight unfiltered tap water from the sink. first mistake. biggest mistake.
>>2791365>>2791413stay mad niggaz coffee just dont compare, why dont u take my advice? kratom and coffee plants are related, hence kratom is like the sexier, funnier, relative who mogs the ugly incel loser (coffee). or continue drinking coffee, and everybody around you can smell your stanky breath but dont say anything to save you embarrassment..........
>>2792269Kratom has a number of known side effects, including: Weight loss Dry mouth Chills, nausea and vomiting Changes in urine and constipation Liver damage Muscle painKratom also affects the mind and nervous system: Dizziness Drowsiness Hallucinations and delusion Depression and delusion Breathing suppression Seizure, coma and death
>>2770075>the secret to making good coffee1-don´t boil the water 100ºC, it should go near boiling point 95ºC.2-Use real coffee beans3-those coffee beans must be crushed at the time you gonna make the coffee or it loses flavor.4- the coffee beans must be correctly toasted, not too much not too few.5- before placing the coffee in the cup, the cup must be always of porcelain and this porcelain should be heated with hot water to prevent the coffee from suffering a thermal shock.6- the amount of beans powder used to make a coffee should be 1 big spoon for a little cup or medium cup, american coffee is too much diluted, look for Arabic, Colombia and Brazilian coffees.7-Coffee is noble food, placing it into plastic cups, paper cups, fucks the flavor, the only allowable are Porcelain, glass and cooked clay.
