Bat woman was, ironically reinvented into a lesbian 50 years later. Only to have that retconned into her being another, unrelated batwoman
Bat-girl became Flamebird and sort of floats around, occasionally mentioned from time to time. She was on the teen titans inthe 70’s and that’s why she sticks around, barely, since the bat books want nothing to do with her.

Bat-Girl was mostly retired but became a Teen Titan for a minute.
Batwoman was killed by a brainwashed Bronze Tiger.
Then the Crisis on Infinite Earths happened.
Batwoman was written out of continuity. Bat-Girl still existed, but instead of being Bat-Girl she was always known as Flamebird. She was now a loser.
Then Infinite Crisis happened. Batwoman and Bat-Girl were reintroduced into Batman's history. Batwoman was now secretly an agent of Spyral. Flamebird was still a loser. There was also a new Batwoman, younger and gayer. Flamebird was her sidekick.
Then Flashpoint happened. Batwoman no longer existed. A woman who was basically Batwoman minus the Batwoman still existed at Spyral, but she had no connection to Batman. Flamebird still existed, was still lame, and was still the sidekick to the newer, younger, and gayer Batwoman.
Then Death Metal happened. Everything is canon. Nobody has any idea what that means for Batwoman and Bat-Girl, they haven't been featured anywhere. Flamebird still exists. She's still lame, but no longer a sidekick.
