Could Gambit touch the ground and kinetically charge the entire planet if given enough time?
>>
sure why not

Pre-surgery Gambit might have been able to. Before he joined the X-Men, he had Mr. Sinister remove a part of his brain in order to nerf his powers so he could better control them.

I imagine he got that back at some point, because every X-Man had to get his anime power boost at some point, i.e. Wolverine's superheated claws.

No idea, it's been said he can't affect organic matter
>>
Mr. Sinister could re-enhance his abilities so he can be a living dead man's switch for the entire planet.

Water is inorganic but I can't recall Gambit ever using it to blow stuff up.

damn, even retarded gambit is this awesome?

As his powers usually worked, no. He'd just charge up the specific object he's touching, the effect wouldn't keep spreading, and he couldn't affect organic material. But with enough retarded comic book power creep, who knows?
