I really hope I’m not crazy, but I can’t find this anywhere.
I remember skimming through a comic in a store once that was about a gay man (probably with schizophrenia too?) that was raised by fundamentalist parents. He had developed an entire system of self-harm to suppress his gay urges because he wanted to fit in. I remember the cover being him beating himself up in front of a house in the suburbs, with lots of phallic imagery. I think it might’ve been a facsimile of silver age comics as far as art style is concerned. If anyone knows what I’m talking about let me know.
