This is the coolest modern Cap costume I've seen so far.
Is there anything cooler?

Cap pretty much always finds a way. It's also meaningful that Soldier Boy isn't THAT bad of a guy. He'd probably be inspired by Cap and fuck off.

I never liked the fishnet looking thing
>>
>>143328287
They’re scales you faggot ass casual. It’s scale mail.
>>
>>143328303
and I never liked it, it looks retarded just like the little wings.

Yeah the fish scales/chainmail doesn't add anything to the design, they only try to keep it in because it's part of the original costume. The wings can look ok when they're painted on though.

Soldier boy is Captain America with physical stats like The Thing or better since he can't be poisoned or gassed on top of being super durable and strong. So he can arguably fight as well as Cap while being hundreds of times stronger.

If they had to fight, Soldier boy would mess him up. Don't know if he would appreciate a fellow veteran or see him as a weaker version of himself losing respect for him because of it and just plainly killing him.

Now Cap has fought stronger people a lot. But Soldier boy can also fight, he's not some brute. So the shield isn't going to stop Soldier boy, Cap doesn't have the strength to actually hurt Soldier Boy with it either.

The key to making Captain America's costume (and many others, like the Flash) look good is that head has to be small. If it were worn on an actual person the fabric on the head would have to be very thin and the one wearing it would need to be shaved bald.
>>
>>143328208
It is. I’m tired of the tacticool/armor they try to give him. The dude should be a walking flag. You can add some practicality here or there like a utility belt but the motif should still be clear from a distance.

>he can't be poisoned or gassed

Isn't getting gassed how he gets defeated in the show? Both when he gets sold out to the Russians by his own team and then later when the Boys decide Soldier Boy being a lil' rayciss is worse than letting Homelander win.

Also if he can do drugs he can get poisoned, I'd say. Bigger doses, maybe.

>Now Cap has fought stronger people a lot. But Soldier boy can also fight

Cap's also fought stronger people who were skilled fighters.

The whole point of the wings and scalemail is aesthetic, it's meant to make cap look like some kind of stylized representation of a warrior, harkening back to knights and vikings and pirates. He's meant to look like he can stand next to Uncle Sam and Columbia. Just making him a soldier is missing the point.
>>
>>143328932
Yeah. Billy Zane shaved his head for The Phantom.

>IT'S NOT COMING BACK! OH GOD IT'S NOT COMING BACK!
>>
>>143329332
Scalemail was already outdated by the time america was founded, designing Captain America like a viking pirate is stupid. Uncle Sam has a better more timeless design

Women in America didn't dress like this in the 1700s, either. The point is to evoke historical imagery that America is heir to

He just looks bald without the wings. Ironically enough, I feel that turning his cowl into a real helmet like in the MCU actually helps circumvent this issue

I miss Ultimate Cap. When he wasn't written by Millar he was like a more thuggish, gritty yet still ultimately heroic alternative to his superior 616 counterpart. He was fun
>>
>>143328208
It took me awhile to place it, but the face looks like it belongs on the Wrecker- a Thor/Avengers villain with a magical crowbar.
The helmet doesn't look right without the wings. The red and white shoulder stars arn't needed. There's been better versions, but if that's a statuette, then it has a lot of impressive details, including the cloth.

>>143329715
How different is he when Millar is writing him

cowardly

Then what's the point of keeping the scales when the redesign already doesn't look like anything like this image you described at all?
