>>143327301This series needs a reboot. I know there are some new-ish graphic novels that take place after the show now but I feel like it would benefit from a clean slate. That way they could really go all out with new ideas while still being able to incorporate what worked before when they want to. Probably not as a cartoon though, I feel like comics or maybe a video game adaptation could be a good fit.

They do help the dead and drive people insane. They could be pits of ectoplasm that got trapped on Earth after a portal opened.
