This would've been the perfect ending point for the X-Men.
>>143318837No.
It reads nothing like an ending point, it's just the last time the X-Men were generally decent
>>143318837I'm going to tell my children that this was the end of the X-Men comics.
>>143318837Wrong
>>143318837It was.
Carey and Gillen did great comics after this. As >>143320226 points out, Gillen's run is your ending. Bendis, Lemire, Soule, Guggenheim, Rosenberg all made crap, Hickman revitalized the line but heaped a whole lot of baggage on to it.
>>143320226If you're ending with Gillen you don't end with Cyclops going to jail, you end with his dramatic breakout and Cyclops founding his new X-Men Brotherhood with Magneto, Magik, and Danger.
>>143321371The breakout is cool and uplifting but from a writing stand point I prefer it ending here. It's Scott at what is his simultaneously lowest and highest moment in life.
>>143321989I understand where you're coming from but I really disagree.
>>143323497Consequences gives closure to the arc that had been building since Schism and positions Scott and Logan as a newer take on Xavier and Magneto.
